hi guys.. i need help with the vcore of this mobo.. when i set 1.7 on the bios vcore monitor displays ony 1.56-1.61. :confused: where is the problem?Is my mobo that had some problems? i can achieve over 370 mhz of fsb without mch mod..
does exist a vcore mod(i can set only up to 1.7)?
Can you post a picture of the CPU/CPU MOSFET area of the board please. Have you tried checking Vcore using a multimeter? Software readings are almost always inaccurate.

You should be able to check the true Vcore at any of the points I've marked. If you get a lot of voltage fluctuation/Vdroop on your multimeter using those points, I'll help you look for a mod to help stop it :)
A friend of mine also has droop problems with the P5WD2 .

i put on another bios version and i haven't got the problem in changing vcore.
voltages drops of 0.05(real vcore). and if i set 1.6 in the bios it drops from 1.61 to 1.67-68. if i set 1.40 it dispalys 1.45.

I have not modded my board atm, but with 1.4V in Bios it's only 1.17V without C1, Speedstep and other crap under dual prime95 !!!
The vdd droops also from 2.3V to 2.1V (other mosfet)...
PSU is a silverstone st60f -> 600 watt!
i can measure it tomorrow when my new bios chip arrives =).
And now?
My board undervolts heavily! mosfet measure with multimeter under load @ 1.45V bios vcore -> 1.18V !
The same thing everest read out: 1.18V!!!
It's under dualprime95 and with c1 and all other things disabled...
PLS measure your vcore at the mosfets...
Try checking Vcore at the points I marked in this post.
At the points that you are measuring on the MOSFET, there will be a high frequency square wave switching between ground and +12v. A DMM will take the average of this voltage and produce a low reading.

I've got an ASUS P5LD2 and the vcore is also not stable under load (usually drops about .08V). I'm running a Pentium D 820 with a Big Typhoon and am currently at 3.85Ghz stable with a Vcore set in the bios as 1.4125. I can't seem to get much higher than that, and its not the temps: full load is about 56C. Higher voltages don't seem to help at all either. I've tried multiple powersupplies (ocz powerstream, modstream, antec trupower) and the vcore still seems to swing the same amount under load with each so i don't think its the psu. So i decided to plot the vcore over time as i ran two instances of stressprime to see exactly what was going on. It seems that the machine will reboot or lock when the vcore has a significant drop (~0.08V). I guess I could keep bumping the voltage up higher like 1.475 or so to get 1.4 under load but that doesn't seem like the right way to do it. Hence why I think this mod might help me hit better speeds, but does anyone know if this mod for the P5WD2 (955 chipset) will work on my P5LD2 (945 chipset)? Thanks guys.

A challenge to solder in such confined tracks on mobo, but hey... no Vdroop now ! 50K ohm VR works OK so far.
Now the mobo when O/C will do as I say....:D
