have a look at my bios thread in the mods section, Rgone has tested and loves it.
its NOT faster, its just more friendly at boot and seems to be more overclock friendly also.

Downloaded. Will test with my new Mushkin L2 Black once they arrive (specs in sig).
Thanks bigtoe
:woot:
nice job mate !
Merci for the effort, will try
Thanks, definitely worth a try
Any idea when DFI will release new bioses? It's been 2 months
Mushkin Xp4000 won't boot in yellows under this bios and won't do dual channel in oranges, back to 623-3 :(
bug free right??
Can i use this bios with: 2x1GB OCZ 200MHz 2-3-2-5 ??
thank you ! gonna test it right now
finally got my 3000+ @ 2854mhz 1.54v and my VX4000 @ 255fsb 3.26v prime95 stable
thanks BT !!!
I love this bios:

Are you guys seeing increased overclocks with this bios?
Hmmm... what was your previous max on air? This bios does look pretty good... :cool:Quote:

Hello,
what flash utility you guys use to flash this bios?
I tried award flash but it says "it is not award bios" :(
download awdflash 8.59EQuote:

so what exactly was changed in this bios? im using the org 704-2bt bios atm.
thx perc,
I really dont see a difference at all. I have the same exact settings and everything runs the same. I did see some of the settings had different names under the drop down options.
Does this still have the CPU Vcore bug?
can people start specifying whether or not they see an improvement from original 704-2 vs 704-2bt vs this new 704-2bt??
previous oc vs current oc settings would be great.
settings dont have to be detailed, just previous clock/voltage vs current clock/voltage
since BT didnt mention it, i'll bet its safe to assume its the same as the previous 704-2bt version, which means the bug is still there but you cant "access" it anymore cuz certain vid special options have been removedQuote:

Goddamit, can some MORE people post BEFORE and AFTER results please?
before = can't prime @ 2850mhz, after = I can prime all day long @ 2854mhz :banana:
which bios were you using before?Quote:

That's well within the margin of error. Ambients dropped 10C in the last month here in BC. If it was the same in QC, it could explain it ;)
Well I just flashed to the bios, and now my internet doesn't work. It says its connected, its sending fine, but nothing, and i mean ZERO, is being received. Worked fine before flash. Help?
is this bios labelled 704-2BTA.zip???
I ask because I downloaded 704-2BT days ago and now I have found 704-2BTA that should be latest BigToe revision...
can anyone confirm please?
thanx
You got it right :)Quote:

The structure of the bios might have changed slightly, so you may have to set everything by hand again instead of loading a saved config
Flashed to this one the other night. Good stuff. Works great! :toast: :toast:
This is optimized for UTT like other -2 BIOS?
^ It very well may be....but it works great with my OCZ Plat Rev 2 1.1 which I *believe* are TCCD...they love low volts.
I just flashed from 704-2BT to BTA and so far I have gained 10 mhz on the cpu. I need to run Prime another 12 hrs but so far it looks good. Memory OC is the same.
Before 2850
Now 2860
voltage 1.58
30 Idle/38 Load

All settings remained the same. Ambient temp over the last two days only varied by 1 ~2C and my load temps remained the same.Quote:

didn't test ram-oc yet.
but i gained 10mhz on the core......maybe just the bad weather and the lower temps but maybe the bios :D
so far no problems.....i'll test ram another day!
mfg
My results in o/c haven't changed a single bit. the only thing that changed is my onboard lan doesn't work anymore.
rofl, i might have gained 11mhz more too on the core, not too sure about the ram yet at the moment...
priming at 8 hours now and still running where it would fail for sure after 1 hr before....
weather is a bit cooler tho... altho temps are nearly the same
will try more tnite!
oh, all settings the same
Very quik test with systool , go to cpu oc and find max
All settings remains te same ( ram 3.2v ,CPU 1.42v)

I used the 510-2FIX HellfireQuote:

Thanks Bigtoe
In my case did'nt get 3GHz stable, 2955MHz was the highest stable in SP8M with 5.10-2 and 6.23-2 (fighting in many days)
Now today with 704-2BTA I can pass SP8M @ 3005MHz AIR cooled
Thanks BigToe :toast:
finally 2.7ghz stable @ 300htt and 1:1 :)
I lost about 150 3dmarks with the bt bios, going from 510-2, flashed back and got it again.
fareastgq, try flashing back to bta, then reinstalling drivers, then going at it
ok, thx, unfortunately my comp is about to be parted, sold my board and ram to someone else, when the new ati chipset boards are out is when I'll be getting another board, I don't wanna buy one now then have to get rid of it later. Till then, it's emachines celery backup rig. heh.
I need to try this BIOS, I hope I can make 300HTT stable with it.
Daved+, it's not the BIOS, it's your revision of DFI that dont let you pass +300HTT easy :(
I'll consider this BIOS...looks good.
Anyway, I forgot my floppy drive at home, does WinFlash work?
I used winflash np for this bios.
Don't f* kid me! I can't believe it! I sold my MSI Neo4 to get a DFI NF4 to get a higher OC and I got a bad revision? Is there any way I can fix it?Quote:

Overall good results with this bios. After hours of testing I was able to increase my cpu OC by 11 mhz. For the memory I saw no increase but I did gain a bit more stability in the yellow slots. Before the Orange was a bit better.
So people are getting 1 more MHz on the HTT? LOL :)
I would really like to use the yellow slots as they seem to be getting more and more reputation in a good way. I have no clue why my board won't them but I don't think I'm wrong in saying that silent revisions have been done to these boards during manufacturing as results very greatly from some boards to others depending on build and purchase date.
What revision is your mobo?Quote:

bigtoe or anyone can to explain the new values in Drive Strength and Data Drive Strength with regard to old ones?
hi bud, check here

What Drive Strength and Data Drive Strength for Mushkin Redline XP4000
I used to use 8 and 3 for my Redlines..Quote:

Those are very far apart :slap: Almost oppositesQuote:

Anyone have any idea when a REAL new bios is going to get released?
Hey Chinkgai, I tried what you said, still same result, 510-2 is still better for me. I don't think I'll be switching bios's anymore. On to the next board! Hehe.
It has been awhile since the last official bios. I read somewhere else that DFI has most of its engineers working on the ATI crossfire boards.Quote:

Ive only just started testing with this bios and the results are very good so far.
On the winny im currently using I am priming at 305mhz/1:1/2.5-4-4-8/2.87v with my G-Skill LC's!! I have never been able to get this type of performance out of these sticks of ram. The setting which has made all the difference is the DRAM Drive Strength. Where as with other bios's setting DRAM Drive Strength to say 5 did not help my tccd sticks, I can now see considerable differences setting this value to 5 (weak3).
I dont know abt CPU ovrclk, im not bothering clocking this Winny any more, it only has 2.6ghz max in it. Cant wait for the results with 939 Opterons
Oh, i have a question. Do the higher memory dividers (above 200mhz/1:1) work with Winnies?? I dont seem to have these options in this bios.
mong
No.Quote:

Well, I'm selling that new SLI-SR R.AA0 if you are interested (PM me). I only tested for a day. All accessories are factory sealed.Quote:

Xp4000 mushkins don't boot in dual yellows.
Ok, sorry.Quote:
