Max pi/3dm speeds? SS is worthless :stick:
Also, hows the mem controller on your chip? Is it freaking out at the low temps or can you still keep 260+ ram speeds?
thats all ricky and pedro had and now take a look at their 13 page thread.. :rolleyes:Quote:

I don't want to start anything here or hijack this thread but I and many other people feel that SS are worthless. Whats the point of the big number if it doesn't run anything. SSing 3300 and 5ghz are the same damn thing if the chip will max in pi at 3250.
No it wont... getting the last mhz out if it is super... a SS is just good because if you can take a 4ghz bench it wont be for 24/7 so it is still a thing that not lasts for ever. so a SS is the same and therefor it also can be a WR. i also wouldnt say that a bench is not good or so. but my opinion is that they both are good!
GREAT news cpulloverclock!!!
looking good.
I just tested a spi 1M at 3669MHz = 22.4Quote:

So, by linear scaling (trying to sounds technical) extra 400mhz=2.5sec, so that means it will take 4069 to break 20's.
Pfft breaking 20's with A64 is tough, but if anybody can do it...
Hi cpulloverclock
Congratulations on completion of your cascade.
-80 -90C is just good temperature for FX-57.
Good luck!!
This isn't xtremelystablesystems.orgQuote:

Just what we needed, an FX57 with a good memcontroller at -80 C*. This cpu would rock with two 7800 GTX's and RAM at 280mhz 2-2-2-5 1:1.
I'm thinking maybe AMD is somewhere closer to fixing the cold bug as more and more Fx-57SD's are able to go down to -90 and still run. I wonder if the even newer ones will get better?

Yup, I got FX-57 0516WPMW 500XX as can hardly wait to get its next batch in Japan.
I can bench my SD FX-55 at -86C but around -74C for FX-57.
BTW, temp probe was taped at the bottom edge side of the copper pot.
No idea about how 9NPA+ SLi reports temp in its Bios-- it is always around +2 -- +8C after load
i'm pretty sure the results for spi are not linear :)Quote:

nice results dumo!
Dumo have you tried the acpi mutitweak ?
It maintain your cpu in full, it can helps you.
Thanks waus-mod :toast: ...I will try misteroadster..thanks :)
:slobber:
impressive.
On a side note, nothing we do here at xtreme makes much sense, there really isnt any sensible reason for most of our overclocking adventures, so all the same, pushing hardware is pushing hardware, whether the challenge is getting it to boot, or to run superpi, the whole XS pointe is just to take our computers to thier edge, so say what you will, im impressed by all aspects of overclocking, whether its getting a d2ol rig to run all day at good clocks, or breaking the WR in suicide shots.
I agree. :toast:Quote:

Person A is the obvious record holder because he has a totaly XTREME 4ghz shot, and person B spent weeks benching but doesn't get anything because his SS is lower, right? :stick:
too bad it's not linear :cool:Quote:

Nice thread crap.
Any chip that can bench near 3.7ghz with 280mhz mem is a very good chip. I'm not thread crapping, I'm just saying DO SOMETHING with it so he can get a REAL WR in a benchie and not a SS.
SS are nice but benchies are much better. If it's ss stable at high mhz. maybe the cascade is loosin temps.? Do you get drastic swings or anything? I go for max SS but more fun is pullin off a nice super pi or even more so 3d. Since I think it would only be the third one over 4 it would be cool. But can ya show some benches maxed also even if they aren't records they are always nice to compare. :)
NICE overclocking! Go get the 4G
As much as i don't want to offend anyone, i have to agree with afireinside's point about "real results". It is fun to compare FX57's to see who can go highest with his chip, but it is not a task completed. In other words 39xxMHz on anything else than a Pentium 4 is absolutely amazing, but it is only a potential WR to me.Quote:

I've never disagreed with stability benching, but the title of his thread...is 4G'sQuote:

HOLY CRAP!
that is amazing ram, 280 @ cas 1.5!!
and 3994mhz isn't too shabby either, good luck on 4ghz.
I'm a bit tired of these SS vs. Bench remarks (by anybody, so dont feel i'm picking on you specifically)... its really a moot point.Quote:

Whichever each person feels is the most impressive is up to them, just like some people like seeing 5,000+HP alcahol fueled cars go down a stip in under 4 seconds and others like to watch Le Mans or Baja.
A suicide shot is more impressive than a bench...
if you say so.
mmmm Pi :D Nice runs cpull, think you can break 3.8ghz benchable?
I'd love to hear the logic behind that one :rolleyes:Quote:

im sure with 2x512 DIMM of BH5 you can get better results due to bank interleave
great performance gain!

congrats, now let us see 4.1ghz :toast:
erf, I'm disgusted, my 4080 file has disappeared
I dont find it
too bad, I saw it 6-7 hours ago :( :( :(
I'll have more next time
for the 21s, I found the trick to get it at 3793 but in the end spi didnt work at this frequency = cascade used during 11 hours
http://membres.lycos.fr/cpulloverclo...que/21.984.gif
http://membres.lycos.fr/cpulloverclo...que/22.031.gif
often the 14 multiplier doesnt work at high frequency cpu and ram

congrats to a french overclocker, and a french cascade´ builder :toast:
thx all
it's the beginning
you just overwhelmed me cpull, a new WR... you are going fast!
just lucky :)
God... that means you :p
Nice Job cpull :toast:
Very nice clocks indeed :toast:
Congrats! :toast:
Really nice CPUlloverclock. I leave for 2 days like 2 weeks ago, and someone gets 69xx benchable, then I leave for another 2 days, and cpulloverclock gets 4g. Watch, next time I leave, someone getting 5ghz A64.
:lol2:
Well done man, i know its only a few mhz above current wr, but that may as well be a mile (im sure you have backups). 57 POWER!!!!!! im seriously impressed.
Congrats!!! :toast:
Nice! Almost 4.1 GHz :D
Whats the highest your mem is benchable at? I think somewhere u said 290 or so?? 290 * 13= 3770 :( U have to fix that 14x multiplier fized. Is it with IHS on or off? I wanna see 4.1
gratz man!!....i wana see 4.1!!!
GJ so far man keep pushin!!!
wow, thats incredible. i cant tell if it was this thread or the AC that gave me the chills. i cant wait to see 4.1! go for it!
with IHS, I think if I remove it I'll kill my cpu and the temperature will be worseQuote:

without ihs you will see +50 mhz max post , But the poin is that maybe you will hurt the cpu with the evaporator mount.
50MHz lost with an extreme coolingQuote:

In my case [chiller@-20liquid] works like i report [+50 benchable +70,80mhz max post ,but maybe helps of the temp that on a cascade you dont need that avantage].
Under casdade you know better :D
WR freq amd :slobber: ...
Congratulations on a new AMD WR :toast:
We all had a hunch that you would make it -- from Team Japan :D :D :toast:

Please clear some of your old pm in your inbox.
Why is it important? Doesn't make sense because it's just adding another layer of thermal transfer...Quote:
