If as many people would buy a pentium 4 670 as a Dothan I'm sure it could take the superpi 1m record. Netburst is dead at normal cooling but not at -196 C*. The only problem is that there's no mobo capable of delivering enough power to the cpu, so you need to be a very good voltmodder.

Noone in the whole wide world tests 24 hour stability with cascades. It is pointless to bugger such utterly GREAT feats with such nonsense.

Cascades are designed to be sustainable... why not test for 24/7 max on them (except obvious power bills... but I doubt the people building these things are exactly low-income).

"Very nice" doesn't qualify for congratulations?

Actually I'd compair it to someone telling lance armstrong he should see how quickly he can bicycle food down to ethiopia. You know, applying some use to his accomplishment beyond competition.

Yes that is...for stable oc on a pentium 4 anyway. Fugger has got a bios shot at 7.2ghz and stilt managed to get his 660 to ~6.6ghz stable here:

It's seems that "Lithan" (and a few others) has some need to rant over P4 in every thread they discover in the forum..
I think this shows an extremely lack of respect and common dignity..
Yes.. the P4/Netburst architecture yields a low IPC and uses way too much power.. Still.. *Noone* asks about 24/7 "Primestable" when it comes to benchmarks.. SuperPi..3DMarknn..whatever..
For "purists" that want to "brag" about their awesome 24/7 OC'es.. Pleeze don't spam your stuff in threads like these...
A Clock of 7Ghz *is* impressive.. a time if 19sek in SuperPi is impressive.. period!

Got a better way to tell people that this is XTREMESYSTEMS and they can take their stability and cheapness somewhere else? Geesh... some seem to put lot of emotion to overclocking.

Why i personally am interested to see 8m results is because the mainly observed finnish pi list is 8m. With 7ghz clocks there should be pretty nice margin on new wr.

Im not much of an overclocker myself but i belive 8m is harder than 1m so i wouldnt say its "less of extreme" at all.

Asking for 8M bench is thread crapping?? 8M test would show even more about overall system speed as memory speed comes to play even more on that test (compared to 1M). Also, since it lasts almost 4mins (at those clocks) it will cause a lot harder stress for the CPU and for the mobo powersupply. Also it would be very interesting to see what sort of 8M time can be achieved w/ that setup. Looks like The Stilt's 8M WR (3m45s) is in danger ;)
