this is the alpha stage bios for E version cpu , ddr speed higher than htt bus ... it's not completely tested . so use it very carefully . if you fail to boot after bios flash , try to clear cmos or press/hold the insert key and press reset button to reset the system ... The system bios will automatically hide the non-functionable ddr divider/multilier depend on the cpu clock multiplier selected

I have been out of the cpu revisions for a while, which CPUs do the memory multis work on?
Venices and X2's I believe would be version E's.

Hmm... On my SD 3700+ CPU-Z won't recognize mem dividers 233 and 250 at all... Those two fileds in Memory Tab are blank... and yeah, in A64 Tweaker div233 is 117 and I think 255 is 133++ ;) Everest and Clockgen won't recognize mem frequency correctly, either... Looks like we need updates now :D
Also, WWM forgot to add that Oscar injected the latest Memtest 1.60 in that BIOS, just for "memtest junkies" :D

If you have a memory controller than can't handle running at high frequencies.
I don't really see the point though, you could just drop the multi on the CPU and keep the memory 1:1.

That's very true... div233 and div250 are just for those that want/can only OC their mems... Like 200x10=2000Mhz DDR466 or DDR500. I don't think I will be using it but maybe some will ;)
yes .5 multi more helpful than this i guess .. and my venice is 3000+ (multi 9) and i'm running 312x9 (daily) , 350x8 (bench) ... i cannot see any ram (yet) to pull higher than 350 with tight timings..

Both are pretty much same results, within margin of error ;) There's a difference of 6Mhz on DDR as I wanted to keep same CPU clocks.
I know that larger calculations would be better but that was supposed to be quick test...

this is what ive come to from my years of overclocking. Oppainter's (iirc is who it is) board works best with bios 125 for god sakes while others like me cant do :banana::banana::banana::banana::banana: with that bios. like back in the lan party B days, i have CRAZY luck with merlins bios, i couldnt POST with ANY of oscar wus bioses, and hellfires sucked for me. complete opposite for other ppl and suck. havent done extensive testing, but still cant break 244-245 or so in windows (using previous settings on utt bh in orange). memtest is fine to 250. i just dont get it. unless im doing something horribly wrong...
running the -3 works fine for me.. dont know if its helped my overclock as im using new cpu and bios today for the first time
I'm with 702-1.. No difference from 510 to 615 to 623 and til now.. Lolz.. I really feel that there isn't any difference except for different options..
I flashed to 702-2 this morning with my 4x512mb 3200rev2's installed.. I was testing these with the 510-2 bios and had it pretty stable at 264x11.. I'll mess with this bios later tonight, but it flashed fine..

How hard can it be to simply make this bios work with a PS2 mouse withou having to plug a PS2 keyboard in at the same time? I really am loosing patience with the DFI guys about this. :( :(

Hopefuly Oskar will come out with a new series of Bios that can 'unlock' the CPU multiplier becoz I am using winnie 3000+ and the highest multiplier is only 9. How I wish I can get 9.5 or 10 or 11 or anyting higher so that I do not need to oc my RAM to its limit.
I think that limit is imposed by the silicon, not the bios.

OK, I just flashed -3 on my Ultra-D with my 4200. I am definitely getting faster and more stable overclocks in the early going PLUS this bios fixed a problem I was having with memory bandwidth testing just totally sucking on my x2 proc. Not very definitive at this point, glad to post results as they become more final, but the x2 is getting back up over 2.6 on air and I ain't done for the day.

I just flashed to 704-3 last night and I did not see memory divider for 233 and 250. Is the 7** series of Bios made especially for venice core and dual core. If the answer is yes, too bad becoz I am still using winnie
200+ dividers are available for E3 or newer revisions.

Final results tested overnight with this BIOS - 3.
NF4 Ultra D
4200x2 @2689MHz CPUZ LINK
OCZ Premier @ 192 (Ocz DDR 500 on RMA)
Air cooling
Tested overnight using Systool with two instances of Pi.
Improvements Sandra Memory Bandwidth test from 3902 MB/s to 5975 MB/s on the top bar. Stable overclock increase from 2450MHz to above. I was running 510. So it worked for me in the final analysis. :D
Well worth the effort ugly, thats one powerful rig you have there, not much if anything could match it :toast:
