Ah....so I see the Sampsa vs Macci rivalry has begun :D Always a pleasure to see the behemoths of the OCIng world duke it out. Though this time its Nvidia vs ATI too....this could JUST get VERY interesting :) I'm just hoping ATI pushes R520 launch cos if what Sampsa does...so its a win-win situation for everyone :D

Though both you guys should be careful...there might be something cooking in :worship: OPP's :worship: kitchen, and it just might be using some homemade chilly :D

No rivalry here. My job is an editor of chief for largest hardware site in Finland called Muropaketti (Cereal Box in English). I've no interest of favoring NVIDIA or ATI and my job is to review new products neutral way.

When it comes to overclocking, I'm interested of testing the new products and always aiming for top spot. I requested ATI's CrossFire at launch time from ATI representative Grayskull but got an answer here:

"How does it sound? Sounds like someone is very confident in their abilities. Exactly how confident...?

As to whether or not it will be too late, only time will tell :D"

And nothing else, luckily my European ATI contacts have promised the hardware for test but we will see when I get my hands on them. No offence taken.

I believe the only way to order from ASI is if you have an account with them. My work has an account with them and buy parts for our custom built computers for customers.

Hmmm, the only thing that turned up at the front door of Castle Zakelwe this morning was 2 pints of milk. However, these were subsequently useful on a bowl of muropaketti for breakfast :)

I'm guessing 7800GTX and looking forward to the results, obviously the title gives a clue it is not an FX-57 ( though I can imagine one of those is with Sampsa as well ).

Keep us updated on how you get on Sampsa, forget being the editor and producing all those game benchmarks, just go straight to thr overclocking :D

I may stop hammering on the refresh button Afi, but that wont stop others from doing so and making meaningless posts on waiting for the "mystery" hardware (me knows its a G70 *sigh*). This thread IS in the Xtreme 3D section, and it has yet to prove its worth here...

Anyhoo, if you guys like to be waiting around for the proverbial "fresh meat", then by all means, go ahead. I just hope its as impressive as many expect it to be.

I must agree with perkam on this. Though I have the utmost respect for Macci, Sampsa and other great overclockers here. I feel like the teasing and taunting by hiding certain numbers in 3dmark scores (ahem) or making teaser posts is kinda belittling. I don't have so much of a problem here as with the whole crossfire/15k thread. Eventually all the info that I wanted to know was divulged in that thread but it was painful reading through dozens of posts of mindless speculation and drooling fanboydom to get to the hard facts. When an overclocker has the benefit of testing out a new piece of hardware before the rest of us I want to know everything as soon he has benced it and has the time to make a post. I don't want to see 2 digits of a score and 12 hours/90 posts later learn the core clocks of his card, followed by another couple days (and a hundred posts) of waiting until you learn what cooling and mods were done and the full 3dmark test scores. Now as far as this thread is concerned, I understand he is working under a NDA and that Sampsa will be doing a favor to the whole Xtreme community by giving out whatever info he can, when he can. I just hope that when he can tell us about what he's got, he goes ahead and tells us what he knows and doesn't dole out info in teasingly small bites. I do find that kind of thing a little belittling, especially given the fact that this is a community of mostly very well experienced overclockers. That said, I am pretty excited to be reading this thread.

Maybe he comes back with a few WR's ?

Shamino broke wolrd records with only one FX-55 chip (no cherry picking) and a 5 buck soldering iron. By the way he makes the voltmods himself, and his phase change was designed and built by himself.
