hoho, only two hours to achieve this. totally stable at 2920mhz and will post at even 3075mhz:toast: hmm, too bad i wasn't able to run 3D thanks to data corruption above 200fsb mark on this kd7...

what does it look like? Prometeia of course:) gotta love this lil fridge. at 2.92Ghz, it will pass any benchmark without glitch. above that kicks back to desktop, at 2.96ghz i could still take screenshot and will post at even 3.07ghz.

it can loop 3dmark for hours. i ran 3dmark, but since kd7 destroyed 2 hdd's with winxp/2k pro, i hooked up another hdd with nForce chipset drivers installed on it. believe me, the score was so sucky that's not even worth of mentioning. it could get to windows at 210fsb, but screwed it up right after first restart for good. epox 8k9a2+ was even worse.Quote:

That shouldnt do ยงยงยงยง to the chip, as that writes info to the CMOS, the BIOS chip itself is untampered with during that process. I've ahd that happen numerous times and all its take to fix is a good old reset CMOS....
Supaman, its a common problem with nF2 boards. BIOS write failures then the board goes boom. All the old tricks wont save it.

i don't know since this bios can't handle below 0 temps. socket temps were @ 6C, but again i'm not sure how accurate it is. At 2.325V and 3.07Ghz it will post, but freeze right after post screen.
That bios problem is a known issue
But if you download the latest MotherboardMonitor and select
PL90 local and remote (something like that) sensors as readout you have accurate temps of ON die and back of socket, with negative on-die readout ;)

ASUS needs a BIOS fix to cure the "freeze up" in the Systems Health screen when temps are below 0.
I tought he was using the (great) KD7 instead of a Nforce2 mobo
Then using MBM gives a negative readout (It does on my KD7)

You probably only need to regas the prommie. The compresser is more than powerful enough. R134a is a crappy refridgerant.

man thats alot of money i wash i had, would do the same thing! Super-badass overclock there...im just still hoping to get my 1800+ to 2000 MHZ...It pisses people off that a 70$ cpu can do 2000 mhz, but yours would just piss people off 10 fold..Your making me think about skipping the whole liquid stage and going right to a promethia, how much is a promethia these days?

That's a great overclock m8. With the Prom and the newer stepping T-Bred.
Seeing all these results I'm actually looking forward to my Prom. Having to wait until after the holiday break will be a pain.

Depending on in which country you live will determine what refrigerants are available to you. If you live in Canada, try HC-12a. Its very cheap and is about 25% more efficient than R134a. If not you can, use R404a, R407b, R507a or 407c. Any of these has a boiling point about 20 deg C lower than R134a (-26.1) For example R404a has a boiling point of -46.6C. This is a readily available refrigerant, used in large freezer units.
Won't changing the refrigerant kill the compressor?
Something to do with the oils being used for R134a that isn't compatible with different refregirants???

@Entuscan - You'd have to make sure the refrigerant you choose is compatible with the compressor and the oil. Its not really a big deal to change the oil though.
Just checked the Danfoss site and it seems the compressor is only suited for r134a :(

As long as the Prom uses POE oil (polyolester) it should *work* with R404a. The problem is that due to the lower boiling point, its pressures at ambient are much higher than 134a, so the compressor might not be strong enough to even "compress" so to speak.Quote:

Danfoss units are pretty strong though.
But the problem is as Entuscan said, they Prommy compressor will not take other refrigerants. You could always get a new compressor, but then you really have to mod it. It might not really be worth the money switching, unless you're a refrigeration specialist and are very good at such things.
There are a few compressors that are rated for only 134a that can take R404a. The Danfoss may be one of them. Who wants to risk $600? ;)

I have no idea if you can drop R404a into an R134a compressor. I have been told by my HVAC guy that most can handle either as they are very similar. I do have to agree with Hallowed though. Risking $600 for something that may help is probably not worth it. I do know that HC-12a can be used as a direct replacement for R134a. Its boiling point is about -34C. Its not available at all in the USA though.
If were gonna go building evaporators again, why not break out and build some reuseable LN2 systems? 8-)
