is ati doing the same thing abit did with fatility with macci ?
I wonder what Macci has in his backpack. :D
A sapphire board and 2 "r520"'s, of course. And don't forget that special ram.
I moved the thread to the 3D section as a warning that Macci is about to do damage to the ORB. Thanks Grayskull for the early warning.
It looks like Macci went to ATI to take down all single card records and I am pretty sure to take down the Multi VPU records as well.
I know he has access to multiple cascades and dry ice/LN2 containers for inside card and CPU.
Based on the current hardware available, I would guess that they used socket 393 with the newest generation of Xpress 200. I dont see them using a Nvidia mobo for what is going down.
I doubt Macci went to Canada to learn the national anthem.
I doubt Macci plans to defect into Wisconsin disguised as a Packers fan.
Flying him halfway around the world, I think something is brewing at ATI.
I think ATI arrested Macci for killing all their hardware.
Jupiler, a few changes of clothes.
Breif case, hmm
Memory for sure.
Maybe a few processors.
A small chance of the DFI 925XE board (He has #2)
Goodies from Finland, salamiak candy
And his Ipod.

Thats great... macci walking around in jeans and a t-shirt in a top notch place like that by the looks of the first pic :D
Hm, I could be way off here but to me seem to fit together.
ATi want a 'professional' to bench some new stuff of thier's. They need cooling for him to do so, so they call up PC ICE and ask for more cascade's or to refine thier existing one(s) from Dallas? That would account for PC ICE being very busy atm and saying that he will show everyone what he has been upto next week. Time for Macci to play around with the hardware and post results?
It all sounds good to me anyways :D :p:
So whens the xtreme action go down? :D
Ooh! I love overclocking!
No, seriously. Don't leave us hanging like this. We want to see the numbers! :D
Interesting...

Very cool. Can't wait to see what's coming. :)
Nice score singlecarded...top by over 300 points...and she MUST have more

Keep it coming !!! :worship: :worship: :worship: :worship: :worship: :worship:
Oh and Macci....lets see that 45K :D

Wait what's that other score in your post w/ the 2 #'s blocked? :slobber:
crossfire... to be announce lol :D
I think you just violated at least 1 NDA :D :D :D :DQuote:

Can we see 17000 in '05? Is it possible??
LOL That's a bit much i"m afraid...I bet its more along the lines of a 12 or 13k.Quote:

Hmmm...You know I can actually take a bus to there in less than an hour. He's in Markham, I'm in Mississauga, Canada :D
But they wont let just anybody inside :(

I'm guessing that 9xxx score is with a single card, so if he gets to play with both, 12000 is pritty bad, I mean this isn't stoc cooling he's playing with. With 6800's you can get 14000, he's got atleast one 520 i bet if not 2, so if he doesn't score higher then teh 6800's ATI has some work to do.
Slower than the 14xxx top nvid score? that would be a shame...Quote:

:slobber:
NDA over at 12am? I hope so, I'm going to stay up then, 45 min less sleep is worth it
daaaaaammmmnnnnnn........ im like 30 minutes away from all this action, hopefully some of the OC mojo vibes will travel to my rig. it needs it :p: im thinking it will be around 13450 or so. anybody up for a friendly pool?
at this stage, I think that >12.5k with released drivers is pushing it, maybe 14k with "beta" ;) drivers.
I'm in, guessing 16210, thats what Macci gets before he jumps back across the pond.
i'll smash my cpu with a hammer if he breaks 16k. need an excuse to upgrade anyway...
not :hammer:
not :bsod:
but :horse:
I'll have an anurism, and never need to worry more then if I have a bedpan or not.Quote:

We talking about next gen R520's or the current gen? Current x850's it won't reach 16, 13 or 14 is doable IMHO tonight. Remember ATI has had "crossfire" technology for a while, and i'm sure its near if not on par with SLI.Quote:

c'mon, macci, i got the camera, and hammer ready(cpu is in the system...)
Honestly though, do you really think those are insane clocks? ;) I wasn't impressed, neither was Macci. To quote Macci, "that's just the start". I say, "that's what we run to keep the card warm enough to prevent condensation"

i know 10k by a single card is possible...Macci can do it, but that would mean one killer Crossfire score...and the 850w psu seals the deal for me. C'mon, let me upgrade!
holy crap this looks cool
Yep... Castle Grayskull will soon be cool. :D
whoa...
this is awesome
How many cards did you guys try to get one that clocked like that;)
Now what we really want to see is the new DFI with Fudo's!!!!
ahh the beast is finally unvieled. i never realized how big it was.
wow thats amazing, and that thing is freaking huge... I'm waitng for macci to break some records with multi vpu...
I wonder how long it will be before Macci gets the WR in all 3 versions of 3DMark! :D
Looks a bit like David Kirk.Quote:

Nice clock on the Ati macci ( unsurprisingly :) ) but how are you going to cool two of them down ? Have you got 3 cascades ? Assuming two then I think 15500 to 16000 will be the ballpark figure.
Regards
Andy
Yep - it loooks like it to me too, that there are two PCI-ICE's cascades and the Frostbyte was a chiller - no?Quote:

Waiting outside Castle Grayskull for more results :D
Perkam
The XtremeFrostbyte III is a tripple compressor cascade with dual heads built by Chilly1 and I. It took about 30 hours build time.
Each head has its own compressor, cooled by the huge first stage.
Chilly1 makes the best cascades. <- shamless plug
Cant w8 for macci scores :) Keep it up Suomin poikka !
...ANd you can carry it in a backpack ???!!!!!Quote:

there's something called courier services :)
Let's hope we're gonna see some results this time.. Last time ATi was hanging around with the living legends it produced no WR's :nono: :D
Single card score is amazing! Still having more left in the card is equally amazing. My guess for his score is something like 15598 if both cards are clocked as high as his single card is. If he can pull out a sick 3D01 score with that....he should have all three easily.
No insults, please.

People I think we ARE going to see WR's here.
Why? ATI has their own "Vmodders" ,people that can solder almsot like machines and would give even the most experienced Vmodder on XS a good run for their money. Besides that (as you could've read) the cascade seems to work flawlessly....
Think about it:
AMD FX 57 or something as a gift from AMD
s939 mobo of some sort. (DFI, ATI maybe ...)
512MB Handpicked OCZ VX or Mushkin BH5 RAM
costum 700Watt PSU (power and cooling or something?)
A :banana::banana::banana:LOAD of insulation, Vmods to the board, GPU, ..............
every single mod there can be done.....
:p:
You know what we really should do?
Get EVERY Vmodder from xs in a room with MAcci, OPB,OPP, Chilly1, PCI ICE and fugger :p:
Now also bring in some AMD, ATI (or Nvidia, you tell me) , DFI
and have:
Handpicked Mobo from DFI latest :p: Vmodded by all the modders, every single mod possible
same for GPU
AMD FX 57 cherrypicked
Now chilly and PC Ice make the cooling solutions .....
How much you wanna bet this is gonna spark , A LOT :p: now THEN we'd see some major WR's I think :)
I guess if the 6800Ultra SLI can be brought to 17k - Crossfire X850 XT should be brought to 17k as well.Quote:

I just used a simple proportion...10662 with stock XTPEs and stock 4000+. 6200 for a single stock XTPE and a 4000+ (6200 isn't exact of course, but it was my approximation). Then Macci's 9063 with his CPU and GPU clocks.Quote:

X = 15500 or so. We know the 1, the 9, and the 8, the rest was just guess work.
Sure, it's in no way an exact science, but it's not too shabby for an approximation, IMO. Not only that, but Macci should be able to use the 5.6b's for an even larger boost (he used 5.5s in his single card run).
i should think they are playing around with the latest catalysts as well and as per the hint at l'inq, that one should perform real well, so i guess we'll see new top scores in 05 for both single and dual cards, maybe even 03.
btw go macci go, get 'em records back to the old world :toast:
haha macci looks tired in the first pic's
best of luck :)
Maybe they're saving the 5.6s for later? In his 9063 run, he was using 5.5s.Quote:

OMFG, thats plain SICK!!!! :slobber: :slobber: :slobber:

Macci, do the cards have to be at the same clocks?
900MHz is amazing, but getting both that hard is probably a lot harder, right? What if you have one that can only hit 870 ('only'), can you run them at different clocks (unlike SLI)?
WOW!!!!
that's about 9640, if you do the direct math (9063*1.0635), high 9.7K~low 9.8K wouldn't be hard to imagine with some more on the memory. If that's a single card, then there is no point, I am selling my rig, buying a dell and a stripper.
how far can 10k be, honestly?
that's like, uh, 14.5 billion texels raw fillrate.
I am so excited!! I need a new hobby very badly.
Awesome clock! Could those numbers hidden in your sig be for single card score? :slobber:
maybe 10k single card isnt so far, please post more sreenshots
No, and the cards will not slow to match speeds or anything, but they will disable a quad of pipes when paired with a less piped card. It's the composting engine that merges the frames, the cards just spew'em out to the "crossfire" card's composter via the dms connector. I remember reading in a audio visual mag that some videocard company was interested in these conenctors, but this was not what i had thought would have them!Quote:

i guess it would depend on the rendering mode. mind you, i'm seeing some interesting stuff with crossfire that i have yet to comprehend....other than that the faster card should be the master with the onboard composting engine. I'd like all the answers, but i don't think they are ready to tell us all just yet.
ocing one card more than the other would probably only have an adfvantage in splitscreen rendering, as the screen could be split 55/45, 60/40, 65/35, depending on the oc. but this is just speculation.
What???!! Thats all!!?? :slapass:Quote:
