I just got 2x512corsair xms rev 1.4 tccd ram, but i cant boot into windows with 2.8vdimm 2-2-2-5 fsb 200 1:1 divider so i got few question here:
1. does that mean i need to burn it?
2. if it does, what speed and vdimm should i use?
3. Use what selection of memtest?
4.roughly how long need to be burnt in?
5.Dont tccd can do 2225 timing with ddr400 ?

Burn in is only for UTT/BH5 memory I guess... just for the high voltage loving memories.
maybe the mem aren't comapatible with your motherboard? 2.8volt is not necessary for TCCD in 200MHz clock
the majority of tccd can do 2-2-2-5 @ ddr 400 but there are some out there that when combined with certain boards will not do 2-2-2-5 @ any speed....
most of the newer tccd can hit very high speedson 2.6~2.7v so 2.8 for stock is a bit much
I thought burning in was only for UTT, BH-5 chips?
Try out 2.7 or 2.6v to boot. 2.8 seems to high :stick:
I dont see why it wouldnt work for TCCD. its built essentially the same in concept. The results will probably vary from what BH-5 and such does tho.Quote:

Drop the voltage to 2.7V for a started, and try some of the outlined lists of settings in the TCCD & DFI threads. Use memtest test 5 for quick stablity tests, but dont take 10 runs of test 5 as windows stable.
Are you sure you didn't tweak your ram between your 270 and 290 runs The404? because gaining 20mhz on a theoretical tccd "burn in" seems odd to say the least
Oh yeah, of course I played with settings, but no more than I did the day before. I wasnt trying to suggest I gained 20mhz purley from burn in, only that it might of been a helping factor. :)
hey theo404, i have the ocz platinum rev.2 memory aswell and i cant get past 270fsb same as urs but i dont know how to tweak the ram, can you tell me how you were able to achieve 290fsb and if you dont mind, can u pm me ur msn addy so you can help me out over msn. thanks
Well I'm not sure if I can, as your using a gigabyte motherboard and not the DFI, i'm not sure if its not just the motherboard holding you back. Firstly experiment with voltage, 2.7 seemed the best for me, as 2.8 caused extra instability, but 2.9 alowed my most stable settings to get me to 290. As I said I'm not sure of the avaliable settings on the gigabyte motherboard, but you can use A64 Tweaker, and set it to enforce settings at startup.

I got my ram on monday(OCZ PC3200 Plat Rev2), and havent had a chance to do much tweaking, and its still on air, so not SuperPi Stable at 300x9 but I ran a Sandra and an everest
I got 8k on sandra one run, but wanted to have an everest bench too
2.88 volts seems to be the sweet spot on this ram, able to do about 15 passes of test 5 at DDR620 before heat kicks in and starts giving me errors
ok.. seems like i got to test it myself cos there is no conclusion whether i have to burn in or not.
by the way , u guys all using amd64 plattform? i am using p4 2.4c with ai 7. So possible to do ddr 600 with intel plattform?

Are you sure they're v1.4 and not v4.1. IIRC v1.x are all Winbond ICs. And v4.x are all Samsung ICs. :)Quote:

It's not necessary to remove the heatspreaders (aka voiding warranty :D)... just read the rev on the label carefuly. ;) If it's 4.1, they're TCCD's. If they're 1.4, they're UTTs. That simple.
It is possible that for the 4.1 rev, Corsair may have used other Samsung ICs (like TCC5)... which may be a good thing. I got DDR606 2.5-4-3-8 1T on A64 (Abit AN8) and DDR566 (283 MHz) 2.5-3-3-5 (with PAT) on Intel (Abit IC7). Those TCC5s are used in rev 4.3 of the Corsair 3200C2(PT). :)
You make me laugh :D Are those memtest screens supposed to show some kind of stability? I hope that TCC5 can do much more than that. :stick:

Now seriously. Are those settings Superpi32M stable? I've wrote that because 2 memtest #5 loops proves nothing. I had one Plat rev2 stick faulty, which can't do 2-2-2-5@200. It gave errors only at the 20th-30th loop of test5. Nonetheless, using win XP normally (moving files, deleting, etc.) it won't last more than 5-10 minutes without a reboot.
PS: glad you had luck with your TCC5.

I entirelly trust the temp probe, moreover sticks were cold, not even warm. However, when I sent the sticks to RMA, i noticed that the heatspreader was already not making good contact with the chips at the stick endings. If it was a heat issue, then it was caused by the heatspreader (they can do more harm if something goes wrong than good if everything is ok).

priming now ...
