7k bandwidth... nice
You run any SuperPI yet?
Edit.. Welcome to XS! :D
Not to bad there.

WOW 1T ......... :slobber:
which cpu are you using??
Winny 3500+. This RAM has got me amazed. Can bench as high as 305 3-3-3-10-1T or 262 2.5-2-2-10-1T. Amazing for 1GB sticksQuote:

Wow, that's awesome! Gig sticks usually suck at overclocking, plus they can usually never have *-2-2-* timings. Are these using the new rev micron chips that OCZ's EB used to use, cause it looks like it.
What voltage?
yeah, im still suprised that ballistix never caught on really, they really can do some amazing things. they are like a mix of bh-5 and tccd.
rofl.
will the 2x512 kits do similar clocks?
n e one willing to risk their dough?
there are plenty of results with 2x256mb kits as well as 2x512mb kits out there.Quote:

Very good sticks, IMHO that average would be like that! :toast:
Wow...
And at low volts. I run my REDLINE 4x512 at 250 3.2v...
2-3-2-6 2T...now i'm wondering if it was a good idea :(
amazing result there.
with 2x1gb isnt that like 4 way interleaving?? that should give a nice bandwidth boost
________
N02 VAPORIZER
4x1gb sticks :??? :p:
Not sure 1T is worth a $260 price premium....$200 vs $460 UTT vs B4000?
i would guess the -5b G that the rest of the ballistix uses.. the -5g C that went into EB was kinda difficult to get down to 2-2-2, and these do it past 220mhz. :toast:Quote:

Really nice results on 1gig sticks. :slobber:
hehe... Just played with my 2x 512 BallistiX today :) - LARGE fan + 3,8v - got it stable, but no pic of superpi while the score was sucky cause of 2600 mhz @ CPU...
http://bigup.peecee.lir.dk/view.php?id=9124
260 T1 2,5-2-2-5 ;D
Got 267 T1 3-4-4-8, couldnt get it stable at any higher, end didnt dare use 3,9v or 4,0v... :)
Ran 01SE at 346x8 divider 150 :) - got 33000 marks... Didnt clock gfx to its max nor use A64 tweaker ;)
Did you try lower volts? I know most people could get 250-260 3-2-2 with around 3.0volts with the EB.
from everything I have seen bout ballistix, you dont need near that voltage. I have seen 2.9 260 2.5-2-2Quote:

1) All VX requires lots of volts, all high performance ram requires at least an 80mm fan over them.
2) You just said that finding 4 sticks of 'good' 512mb is easier than finding TWO sticks of 'good' 1GB. WTF are you talking about. Anyone can go and buy 1GB ballistix and anyone can go and buy 512MB PC4000VX.

Yes, as 256mb modules were generally better than 512mb, 512 are better than 1024mb modules, then, it's harder to find 1024mb modules capables of the same as a 512mb module... :stick:

But it's not 'hard' to find anymore. It's safe to say that most 1GB ballistix sticks will do 250 at least since Micron's quality control is top notch. Results are out, anyone can buy them and it's not like they're in short supply. With PC4000VX, all you need to do is turn up the voltage and tweak the settings a little, 260Mhz+ is guarenteed.
As for the temperature issue - I know from experience that TCCD and Micron chips get WAY hotter than UTT and BH5. I tried running Micron @ 3.2v before and the sticks got HOT even with an 80mm fan over them, whereas the same system with 3.6v and BH5 was barely warm. Same with TCCD.

I've been running 4x512MB of VX @ 3.6v 265Mhz for the last 3 days and I haven't had a single crash. Before I first booted into windows, I did over 20 loops of memtest to ensure stability. This is with an panaflo 80mm fan over the dimms, 3.3v rail = vdimm mod and nothing more.
Heat is NOT an issue with 4 sticks of VX.

what were your results with 2x1gb ballistix?Quote:

personally i think the micro chips are great, work well at low voltage, but you get benifits if u do have votlage.

Which ballistix modules were these? Im thinking about getting the 2 x1GB kit of Crucial Tracer DDR500.
tracer and ballistix is the same..just added lights on tracer.. and 1024 is harder to find. theres only 1 company that ive seen that can push out those numbers, and thats the crucial ballistix. the redline is lookin good dont get me wrong, but theres been alot of issues with the high voltage memory like redline and ocz vx, especially if u r using a dfi mainboard. I know b/c i have some vx on rma. i have 2x1gb of the ballistix tracer on the way from new egg, $366 will be here tuesday along with my 7800gtx. will give u numbers then.
Nugzo, if youd do that; youd be my hero! Lol.
I did RMA cause my kit wasn't able to do even 235 MHz without bunch of errors in memtest - no matter what I did.Quote:

EDIT: mine was regular ballistix (yellow) - not a tracer one.
That was the 3200 stuff?
yes but the difference between 1T and 2T is less when the 2T sticks are 1.5-2-2 @ 260MHz. I ran 4x512mb vx 2T and could get higher bandwidth than with those Ballistix 2x1gb 1T.Quote:

What voltage is your vdimm set at? Im trying to get my 4x512 of OCZ PC4000VX Stable Seems to crash in games, but passes memtest. - Im going to use your settings as a reference if you don't mind.
And what motherboard are you using? If its a DFI Nf4 what bios?
Ive just got my 2x1gb Ballistix kit, and so far im happy with it.
They ran straight out of the box at 250, 3-3-3-8 2.8v, Im now upto 260 3-3-3-8 2.8v and they are still perfect. I tried a cheeky boot at 270 and it was a no-go, so I may try and drop the timings to the default of 3-4-4-8 and see what that does.
Anyone able to share what BIOS settings they use for ALL the mem timings with these 2gb kits?
Are you guys running 1T with those sticks cash and vapor?
yes mate :)
2.8v
3-3-3-8
1T
265mhz
All settings in Bios are at the "Optimized dfault settings".. so I think I have alot of tweaking left in her... I just wish I knew what they all meant!! :(
I cannot seem to get the System to boot with the more relaxed timings of 3-4-4-8 strange as these are the default timings yet they only seem to run at 3-3-3-8 ?? Weird!
I shall try and update the bios from the 310 Official I have atm and see if that makes any more difference.
Mine's the exact same way, just I've been using 2.6V at 260 3-3-3-8. I know theres a lot of stuff there thatll help, just don't know what it means or what itll do for the OC. I'm using 623-3, orange slots (yellows won't boot AT ALL--not even post).Quote:

OK my Ballistix 2GB is topping out Memtest free @ 245, but it will do it at 2.5,3,3,7 PAT enabled, but not 1mhz more even at 3,3,3,8 :(
SO think I need to tweak something (P4C800ed / Dothan740).
Might be BIOS though.
A quick question though, I ordered a 2GB 'kit'. They cam togtherer in a box, but as seperate Dimms in anti-static bags. I would have thought they would have been like Corsairs TwinX kits, together in some packaging ?
i have the same issue with my 1gb crucial value stick.. 3-3-3 works better than 3-4-4, 3-4-3 or 3-3-4 :confused:Quote:

thinking about it though, i've decided that the OP made a BS thread, but we can't really see it anymore, so yeah.. :p
300mhz seems really unlikely
Right out of the box....does burnin help Ballistix?Quote:

Hey NinjActionJeans,
Nice overclock. What is your CPU Speed? 2400MHz is my guess.
Is that Crucial Ballistix memory? Why are you using HT X 2? Why noy HT X3 = 900MHz.
Is that the plain ballistix or tracer.

the bandwidth is low coz his CPU is lower... I get 7400 with my cpu at 2.9ghz and the 3-3-3-8 / 260.
Ninja, please tell us all the BIOS settings you have for th ram.. starting from the top and moving down to the bottom!
Thanx a million mate,
Yes, anyone that has Crucial Ballistix or Crucial Value 1GB sticks post your DFI NF4 DRAM settings for us. I have two sticks of the value on its way from Newegg i'm going to try out. I'm hopeing for maybe 250Mhz 3-3-3-8.Quote:

Read the PDF at Corsair's site, 2.5-3-3-6 @ 2.75v for AMD platform, and 2-3-3-6 @ 2.75v for Intel. Not bad, but not awesome either for only DDR400.
Well I just wanna know how well it scales and max MHZ 1T.
Most ppl are hitting around 230 @ cas2.5 from what I can tell of the info available.Quote:
