I had to take my mobo out of the case, I had to use some serious airflow, but I think I've got the Watercooled WR for 3D'01 back infront of the Aircooled WR held by Kinc.

Does anyone know of anyone running a higher score on water than that? I want to make sure this time before I claim bragging rights :toast:

isn't that what we are all trying to do? Push limits. Not all of us have the means to go for the AMD FX55 on Phase change WR.

Thanks, a great deal of it is due to my vid card clocks, which I feel very lucky to get on water. I just wish I could get a Car low score something like yours. Although I re-run the test as many times as I can at the end with varying vid clocks, my best CL score still seems to be 20-30fps shy of some other peoples scores.Quote:

Well it won't be tonight, for some reason, my rig is now less stable than it was during the afternoon! It actually seems to have warned up somewhat from earlier on. It did take a great deal of effort to get to 39.4k, so I think I'll give it a rest for now.Quote:

I think its interesting to see WRs with different kind of cooling limits - aircooled,watercooled, all-out-cooled.
Getting #1 all-watercooled 3DMark2001 score is a very respectfull achievement - requires a lot of tweaking and know-how. I'd say that it takes a lot more than lets say getting a PCMark04 'WR' w/ hardware thats not even available yet ;)
These '#1 sub 2320MHz, sub 210FSB, 256MB RAM, WinXP only, AGP2X mode, R9200SE 64MB' - type of WRs are where it indeed starts to get a bit silly :D

Really impressed by your gpu-clock. What roomtemp? These X850XT overclocks very good without temps bellow zero. Sorry to say that my X850 is retired for now, I'm curretly giving SLI a try. I say go for 40k now! :D

It's stimulating and fun to tweak a system with limited cooling to reach a sertain personal goal. Not to mention that it leaves a very good starting point for Dry Ice or LN2, where your time is limited.

I don't know what the room temp was, but I know my feet were cold! I'm guessing it was somwhere around 13-15 degrees C

the ORB is full of these ridiculous wimpy attempts at anything they can claim to be a WR. so your definatly right, theres alot that are just not World Records, so much, as just "no ones interested in benchmarking with that set up"
like I am sure some guy out there right now is claiming to have the ATI 7500 AGP record, but I am sure, you could put that card in a FX55 Machine at 3.5 ghz and destory that record, but is it really a record, or just that theres no one really interested in benchmarking with it, so you put it in a ridiculous machine and take it without any effort??
in my opinion, theres only 3 records for 3dmark worth watching.
highest watercooled, highest air cooled, highest anything cooled. :D

I think its GREAT that a lot of people are still enjoying with the "old" hardware. not everybody have the cash for highend gear, witch is undetstandble. In that sense i think its great to start challanges (like Juliettes 600xt challenge) and stuff. But if we all start saying this is new WR for FX5200 etc, the fun part about WR´s kind of go away. :)
ther should be 1 WR for water. 1 for air, and a 1 for cascade and all other kinds of cooling:) Just my opinion!!! :)
Air and anything goes is fine by me, but things in between are more difficult to judge. Now we have SLi and none Sli WR's as well.
I guess it depends on how far down you want to split. You can have WC, or chilled WC, or WC using glycol/methanol at -33C like I use( no water whatsoever ). Who would have the WR then ?
However, nice score anyhow !

PS Note even air is artificially propelled, so the most "natural" would be passively cooled WR and then anything goes.
I like seeing top records for specific videocards, and such, but once people start nitpicking to find a way to claim somethings a record... then it's just where I think "ok, yeah... whatever dude..."
I am just waiting till I hear something like...

cause, I see some just ridiculous record claims when looking for scores on the ORB sometimes.

C'mon legends...not all of us make millions a year and have a gazillion cascades sitting in our garages....but that doesn't mean we don't put effort into benching and doesn't mean we love it any less than you guys. GazC's score was definitely noteworthy, it's something I believe he should be commended for and should take pride in. Claiming WR's in categories you might call bogus is a way for the rest of us to have some fun.
