Just tried it on the venice 3500+..cold bug confirmed around -90
I really hate this!!

Ice's cascade is really too cold to boot my 3500+ venice.
Even I tried 1.9v it's still -109..

wow crazy just crazy.. and u even got a cascade waterblock too O_o i am speechless opb.
opb if you turn on the cascade then turn it off wait till temps get higher like -20 then turn the cascade again when is in windows?
That's a pisser dude. I really hope this issue doesn't show itself on the San Diego cores too.

Yeah venice still has cold bug :stick: Pretty sure diago doesn't. That sucks that your chip has it though, OPB.
Turning condenser fan off wouldn't be a very good idea. Low stage temps will drop which means high stage pressures rise, correct? Or will it just not condense? I really have no clue how cascades work really but I know it would be BAD if you tured the fan off :p:
Damn PC ICE, can't you get ahold of yourself and stop making the cascades so cold that peeps can't use 'em :rolleyes:

I don't think anyone knows anyting about how San Diego core behaves under cascade... As far as I remember, nobody tried it yet...
I really have a feeling, that cascade benchers will have a rough time with those new cores...
I'm pretty sure I remember reading that AMD said the winny/venice cold bug is a memory controler issue that they will try and resolve but the san diago controler is fine. Don't take my word for it though. I don't want to be blamed for a 400 dollar purchase that doesn't work...

if you turn on the cascade wiat till get -110°c the turn it off and with the temp raises to -40° an turn on the pc and then turn on the cascade wont work????
i cant remember who was the guy that did it and worked
pc-ice you can add a CPEV in the second stage, like this OPB can regulate temps on the head!!!

-100 is damn cold... maybe it will boot up at -60 - 70..... pc ice rox with that cascade...

Open valve for oil return so low pressure will rise and also temperature.
Works fine under my little Mach II, of course that doesn't get that cold :p:
Sorry to hear about cold bug, lets hope the San Diego doesn't have that problem.
Unlucky there OPB but damn is that cascade good :D Made one venice cry already, I wonder how many more :D

The San Diego has the same internal thermal probe as the FX-55 I gather, hence theoretically there should be no cold bug.
Of course lets hope AMD really sticks to this, as a cold bug on its SD core would be little more than the first nail in its coffin :rolleyes:
I don't think the thermal probe has anything to do with the cold bug.
I will confirmed if 4000+ San Diego will have Cold Bug on Moday.
wow this blows for those of us who cant afford san diego, but want to put our venice under -100 :(

Dont know if it'll help... But...
Try letting your CPU warm up a bit by eather just staying in bios... Or doing some loops @ memtest.... And then afterwards try'n enter windows to do some bench'... Worked for my winchester when i benched outside... Was +5 but it wouldnt enter windows.. - Then I just entered bios and eat a cookie while reading the newspaper... Afterwards, no problemo.. :\

No That is right. 3500+ SanDiego with 512Kb are defective chips that had half the cache disabled. Same as what happened with early socket 754 3000+ ClawHammers, and recently with socket 939 3500+ ClawHammers. All of which only have 512Kb L2 cache.Quote:
