Before use this ram, their are some important things to know:

- Make sure you have a descent memorycontroller and motherboard.
(DFI NF4 series is recommended)

- When overclocking, be careful of using high voltages. This one does not like high voltages.

- 1:1 running to get best performance of this RAM :)

- Make sure you use Oskar Wu TCCD optimized BIOS for best stability and performance

Excellent ram, tccd really is some good memory.

What I would really love to see is at least 500% of "Memtest for Windows" @ DDR600 7-3-3-2.5-1T with those.

If they pass it without any errors, then I will be absolutely impressed ;)

2.7v is low i know that tccd sweet spot is around 2.9v

Hmmm... a 32M Pi run would be interesting too, more so if the CPU was on air. And maybe a run with IdleCycle = 256.

Slightly off-topic, but is Windows MemTest a better test of stability than it's DOS-based counter-part? I've been using it to test the memory in my sig (stable at 280mhz, with no errors after 600%), but was thinking of using the DOS memtest...or should i not bother if it passes in windows?

"DOS memtest" in my opinion cannot be trusted at all as far as overall stability goes. Only because memory sticks are "error-free" according to "DOS Memtest" means nothing. It's a good tool to only determine faulty sticks but not "Windows stability". For overall memory stability in Windows enviroment, different tool is needed. That's where "Memtest for Windows" and Prime95 come into action.
If you can run "Memtest for Windows" for at least 3-6hrs then from my experience you are as stable as it comes ;)

I agree. But drop the multi down to 9 so so the CPU ceiling doesn't come into play. If you can do 2.5-3-3 1T at 300 and run it through 32M SuperPi you'll really kick off the launch of this stuff with a bang. :)

and that is a good stuff like most of the tccd memory and gskill of course :toast:

Personally I think it's a bit strange that even though TCCD production stopped months ago we're still seeing new chips.

I bet this is the last TCCD we're going to see though.

They are only going to release 50 sets. So there will be more G.Skill FF, just without the DFI motherboard.

PC4800 FF will be just like the other Xtreme series. But there will be combo's with handpicked DFI Ultra-D.

I want one. :D

How do you get one of these 50 sets? Are they going to be spread to shops over the world or does G.Skill simply send them to infamous overclockers?

Is that some sort of "industry-standard" now to test memory with SuperPi 1M, Sandra Benchmark and 5 minutes of memtest #5 ?
I'm not saying that this memory is not performing well, but have anyone ever think of running a bit more demanding benchmarks to show stability at stock speeds or at DDR600 7-3-3-2.5-1T as shown above?
To me it looks like it should be called "benchable" not "stable"...

I just don't get it now...

I've always found the best way to get a good indication of "real-world" stability is to loop 3Dmark03 and PCmark04 for a few hours...i know my system will crash / hang pretty quick using those apps if it's not completely stable!

It should... 2.5,3,3,7 1T 300Mhz, with 9x multi with a Winnie gives 3199MB/s for memtest here.

Curious why the walltime was smudged out... should be less than 40 mins... closer to 30 :confused:

Two comments... I've had runs with unstable settings where had 50+ T5 passes that end up showing errs before 100... and clean passes of T5 overnight that have errors every pass of T8. Not saying the FF would err, just that for a vendor show of stable mem, results to date come up a tad short :)

Motherboard is very important. The HTT must operating 100% at e.g. 300MHZ and beyond.
At this moment DFI NF4 motherboard is the best in combination with TCCD memory.

Getting 2-4 errors in memtest, still experimenting with the drive strength and DQS.
Think a stronger controller like FX-55 would make this speed stable.

Does it say 0:32:13 on the smudge picture ?

That is... went back and re-verified log book with fresh run... numbers same, 3199MB/s. Ran with 180 divider, get 3014MB/s. Also no dif for 2.5-3-3-6 vs 2.5-3-3-7. Point of reference, rest of major timings at that time were 3-2-2-2 (Trtw, Twtr, Trr, Twr), interleave on, 256 IdleCnt, Tref=4708, Trc=11, Trfc=14.

What version of memtest did you use Eva? (I was using V1.51)

Not necessarily regarding Vmem... only took 2.6 setting for 300M ;) My experience with TCCD is that Vmem dif from 300 to 330 usually is nada to 0.1V.

FYI... you might try bumping Vcore by .05 or so, it can help sometimes on borderline timings for the mc ;)

was using memtest86+ v1.55.1 as it fixes all the bugs in prior versions

300HTT with 270mhz 2.5-3-3-6 1T 7-14-2-2-1-2 3072 Interleave On

forget what combo but secondary timings are what make difference, also MAL, etc. Never could get it to be stable @ 3297. One last note: if you tighten up every thing right and you can get it to work, you can get 3405 in memtest @ 2.5-3-3-6/7 :brick:

Why does everyone bother with Memtest? I use it only to see if the memory is not faulty. If I get no errors at stock speed, then I ditch it and go straight into Windows. And play, test it there.

Note: S&M can also run from an image.

that's about right..

from what i can tell i can now understand why gskill like ram even at 2.5-3-3-7 1T at 275+ can be so close to BH-5 ram it's bank interleave that does it, Gskill can handle bank interleaving on gives it a nice boost, BH-5 usually didn't handle bank interleaving at all but with 414-2 I tried BH-5 handles bank interleave upto around 240mhz 2-2-2-6 and gets a nice boost past 240+mhz bank interleave off and it's up to the advance timings to be tightened for BH-5 to fly.

i.e. BH-5 @ 10x 240mhz 2-2-2-6 with bank interleave on = 3026MB/s in memtest :)

I am not sure what you mean, but hey, here is my test, I 've never BS to XS friends here. FX55 does memtest BW really LOW, I mean really low.
here is what I ran from air cooled fx55(Mach 2 died)
below all done by only 2.63v(2.6+0.03)

how about 64 passed test5:

Don't know I would agree Windows is ultimate goal :hehe: It's also good for sorting out new mem quickly for "edge points" on various advanced timings for later tweaking in OS ;)

Maybe 3199MB/s is hardcoded value :lol: Naw, looked at the source code... no errors, just too small of test for minor diffs and only a looks at burst speed...

Regarding my comments... was curious why the smudge out on wall time, I am part cat after all :p: But mainly, just noting that memtest runs, even 30 min or even 1 hour ones, is not a good indicator of bench (say pi32m or some gfx benches) or 24/7 stability for users. You know from your "race" with Michal before that stability for some benches can be a real beach ;) In consideration of you being a representative for GSkill and the total readership here, thought it would be good to show more than memtest runs is all :D

addition: Would also be good to state full timings for your runs, even if memtest ;)

414-3 bios gave my gskill PC4400LE a bit of boost in bandwidth by 100+ MB/s and a bit higher oc

I disabled either dynamic counter or bank interleaving (don't remember), that was so I can pass test 8, after that it could pass all tests as u can see in the last screenshot.

btw can u get high memtest bandwidth numbers with any settings? or is it always no no matter what? my clawhammer 3500+ (which I assume would be similar) can get high numbers but it isn't stable at them, right now I'm using 310 official BIOS and it lowered the numbers at the same settings to ~2900 and it's fully stable at 300 x 8, but can't even boot at 2700 even though with some other BIOS I could reach 2800..

hmm, I think I'll give the BIOS you're using (414-1) a try again..

While the G.Skill guys are posting in this thread I need to ask an O/T question. How do I arrange for my G.Skill ram to be tested?

I am not sure if it is working right at all.

They have a reseller listed in Viet Nam, so you would think they would cover Canada. ;)

That's not the problem WE don't want to sell in Canada but the dealers in Canada do NOT want to carry GSkill in Canada.:D

Is it true or not that there only will be 50 kits ?
Today I've just pre-ordered my kit but it was told me that only 8 kits will arrive in Europe due to only 50 kits are available worlwide... is it true ???

btw I just noticed today that NCIX.com (Canadian Retailer) has one G.Skill item (F1-3200BWU2-1GBGH) listed and expected in stock in 2 to 3 weeks, so I guess we'll soon be able to buy G.Skill products in Canada..

Sorry for being a NOOBE regarding Gskill ram but, Is this ram better that Gskill 1GB LE kits? I'm not even sure if this ram is being sold or if they are just selling it with the DFI combo?

Anyways how does this ram relate to Gskill LA and LE in terms of overclock potential?

LE is very good but this is even better..

I've been so very impressed with all the memory g.skill has released. All my buddies keep preaching Corsair to me and I tell them they are nuts, G.Skill and OCZ is where its at.

istead of doing the windows memtest, I test that with venice, DDR600, 2.5-3-3-6 on the 3d05 single 6800u@ 450/1200
