only 15250 marks with a diego and 6600gt? I get well over 20k with my winny at those clocks, 23.6k at 2GHz on the winny. Looks like aa/af was turned on for that score or pci-e chipset drivers werent installed, its that bad :( 2.78GHz isnt bad for chilled water. Probably 2.65GHz on air cooling but another guy hit 2.72 though. AMD may be speed binning, I say this because even the old 130nm fx55 often hit 2.8GHz or even 2.9GHz on air. It may take a 90nm fx55 to hit near or even 3GHz on air, its known that amd saves the best yields and silcon for the fx chips but compare at $900 for 90nm fx55 at say 3GHz vs. $350 for 3700+ diego at say 2.7GHz. Thats more than 2.5x the price for about 11% more cpu clocks! Nice review and gives us a good idea of the cpus overclockability
hot damn!! looking good....hopefully my 3700 SD will do just as well, keep in mind that every single chip clock differently but as far as I can tell the 1MB definitely worth the extra cash over 512KB!! :woot:

I think similar results on air would be possible. His temps were only 39c! with 1.5v
Temps would likely be acceptable on air with those volts, maybe mid 50's. Very promising
strange review config didnt mention what ram you used for test ?

Actually there is really only one person who was super critical and that frankly was his modus operandi. The large majority of us are happy to see such results even if they are not backed up to the nth degree with a variety of differing benchmarks (which someone different will normally ask for in a reasonable manner).

I want to say thanks again and I apologize if I started any arguements, especially reguarding those low 3dmark scores. I hope I didnt offend anyone by pointing them out but I want to say it gives us a false illusion that the diego performs poorly by the low scores. If anyone has time, itll be nice to see what he can do on strait air since most of use air cooling :)

I have to say that, given 3 GHz and 1 MB L2 cache, 2minutes and 22 seconds on 4 MB SuperPi sounds rather pathetic. I think you can get that with Winnie on 2.8-2.85 GHz. This is definitely not on the same level as FX-55. Hopefully these guys just do not know how to tweak it else this is not worth money.

Look at the memory speed he was running....SuperPi ain't gonna fly on 300! But atleast now we know a bit more about the potential of Sandy, with that....we should be able to play around with combination of things, If I have a Sandy that can do a solid 3.0G, I'll definitely run it at 333 x9....with DDR666 @3.0G it should crunch out some pretty good numbers on SuperPI and definitely going to outgun any 2.85G winnie!! For some strang reason SD 3700 is not o/cing on mine test LP Ultra! :(

I was lucky to get this SD 3700 (and I'm not from Western Europe), and now I'm woried that I'll need to change mobo (mine next pick is 9NPA+ Ultra, but I've went throught hell to get this LP, and I don't want to change it)!
The PSU is Enermax 600W, and the mem is Cors 4400C25 (2x512MB)
I use the 414-1 bios :)
