HERE we go again......AMD this time...Some BH-6 action...

Just started with stock heatsink and very low frequency........Borrowed FX53 CPU.... :D

To be honnest this mobo - DFI NF4 SLI-D - is rock stable..... :D

Config. for now.....

Motherboard : DFI NF4 SLI-D
PSU : ENERMAX 550 Watts(old) - ALSO tested with the Zippy 700Watts and it was OK.....
DDR Maximizer(all the way - keeps mobo tooooo cool)...... ;)

Rams : 2 x 256MB Kingston Value Rams PC2700(DDR333) at Cas 2 - 2 - 2 - 5 and ........3.82Vdimm(so far - more to come)..... :D

3D Benchable at 287MHz 1:1....so far and climbing... ;)

They are at Dimm2 and Dimm4 as for the mobo's writings......Cpu-z shows them as slot 3 and slot4.....

Looks pretty insane. What makes this better than a commercial product like the OCZ DDR booster?

The best fsb for my BH-6 DC mode is 302 2-2-2-5 , 3000+ inside, it seems that the memory goes up more easily with a FX

Coz Motherboard now is very cool......PLUS I can change the Vdimm onthefly when I bench with different fsb's, etc. ;)

I must have to use your DDR Maximizer, coz my BH-5 can do 286MHz DC 2-2-2-3 with 3.69V but damn, I can't get over this Vdimm, I cant load windows, so I think that using you DDR Maximizer is the only way to do that...what do you think??

......and here's a 3500+ CPU.........Bandwidth is a lot better because of the frequency and the lower latencies in the internal cache of those two different CPUs............Now, once more maxed out the CPU........Shi(f)t, I can't max out my Rams......I have to find a better CPU...... :)

I don't think so coz I've got about 7839 with Rams at 260MHz and x11multi.......So yes it could be about 8000+ at 270MHz.....

3D bencable at 1:1 with the FX53 CPU and a GeForce 5300 PCIe VGA are at 286-287MHz .......about the same with Super-Pi, Pi-Fast 4.1 and 4.3......BTW , this was tested with the x8 multi and default heatsink before the phase change ;)

Guys one thing to say.......BEWARE when you put Vdimm via the DFI board coz it's NOT as it seems to be.......For example if you put 3.6Vdimm within bios and you see that Vdimm on screen, ACCUALY it is 3.72Vdimm measured with a digital multimeter....Raising the voltages BEWARE to count in this 0.1 - 0.12Vdimm more that it provides......Those mesurements where tooken some days ago on a DFI of a friend of mine......

Good to know that u know Vdimm messuring point, please share with me, i asked for it often, but noone answerd!:)

Into this red cicle there is an Electrolytic capacitor as you can see........BUT there isn't one on your mobo.......I have soldered it....It's a missing capacitor......Now on one of the pad(spots) that this capacitor should be, you can measure the Vdimm ;)

About the cap I added, I didn't notice anything strange or better........



No more updates of this platform.........Either AMD doesn't like me or I don't like AMD!......My nerves are very delicate for playing around with it........I had to plug the mains to Prommie coz the CPU got too frozen, unplug it , plug it , unplug it......Restarts, freezings into Windows, files missing during boot up windows, with less temp it was ok(when I unplugged the Prommie) and when I wanted to run a bench I had to plug the Prommie again.....When one moment I went to toilet, I came back and the windows were frozen.......My nerves.......BUT that was quite pleased to see what my good old Rams could do in an AMD platform or how high they could go.......

Yes it was.......But even with the FX53, I didn't have much luck..........Anyways, mobo sold 100 Euros to get rid of it and I'm fine now....... :D

did u sell the chip? You seem to hate the mobo because of the cold bug that ur CPU is having. Maybe you can test out an Abit AN8 (non fatality) :)

Thanks M8.........Yes I was able to run 2k1 Loby high/low (worst for the Rams) at x8 multi with the FX53 (low frequency) with a GeForce 5300 PCIe at 286-287MHz real easy......Tested low frequency only to see what my Rams could do.......Maxed out (did't tried higher to be honest) at 289MHz with 3.85Vdimm........ :)

I run TheLab pi-fast but only at maximum frequency of the 3500+ CPU But Rams were only at 279MHz..........TOO SAD......I couldn't find a CPU to "fill" it with MHz's from my rams with high frequency........If I had an FX55 with the x12 multi going high, I think that I could reach at least 9000+ as for S-Sandra........As for the Super-Pi, I got 27sec at almost over 3000MHz BUT once again Rams were in too low frequency........Memtest-86 error-free with 3.82Volts, they were at 285MHz.....

To be honest I DO like myself playing with it, not because of the reason I've built it, but because it's so easy to adjust and work with it the time/moment you want - onthefly - ......This makes my happy....... :D

Yea I think it will be a lot easier than poking around ur mobo tryn to adjust vdimm and vtt. Also a whole lot safer too. I don't even bother with my IC7 anymore. I just throw some OCZ tccd in there and to hell with it.

At 287+ MHz we supllied them(via DDR Maximizer of caurse) 3.85Vdimm.....I think that they could go a lot higher BUT CPU limited us...... :(

EDIT : IF Rams were 2 x 512MB and the Bank Interleave was workig, I think that we could be about 8900 - 9000 S-Sandra...... ;)

Exept of the sillicon paste onto every chip of them and then glued with some fast acting glue with the Thermaltake heatsinks, I added some electrolytic capacitors on the back of the PCB and on the Vdimm to ground......I gaind about 2 - 3 MHz more out of it......BUT the above benchies were without them coz we couldn't fit in near DRY ICE's cube.....

Yes they have helped a lot NOT with fast screenshots like S-Sandra(maybe a little) but for Prime, etc.......NO WAY Dual DDR.....Fortunately Dual DDR wasn't even existing that time.... ;) :D

Super-Pi did the other guys before I go there.....I think that they'll start a new thread over XS tommorow.......It was 26sec.....

last day was a great (and fun day)
ok SuperPI was 26:515 (with the ms patched PI)
Hipro5s mems did great on the AMD platform, the PIfast was about 37:73 (or so)
and im sure we can break 9k on BH6. It was our first experience with Dry ice so it took us much time testing how it behaves on temps. Next time (pretty soon) we 'll do better. (+3D bench with a x850xt)

now that i have all the hardware in my home ill give my UTT a HOT run ;)

Count in the Vdimm droop that it occurs via the Mobos DDR Slots which is about 0.03Vdimm, thas 3.88Vdimm real on these Ram modules.........DFI has very loose DDR slots.......NOT touching firmly the BETA DDR PCB of the Maximizer...... ;)

hipro5 you know me ... that 0.03V drop is hurting me.
DFIs slots are indeed loose. and spikes is the worst thing i can imagine @ 3.9V.
Im going to solder the maximizer on the mosfets (as soon as i have mine ;) )
i don't give :banana: about guarantees.
(guess what, i found that 500grams of Dry ice are still on the box we keep it).
ill have to rest for a couple of hours and then go back for 30mins of benching

Hipro5 did a good job on that maximizer just from the looks of it...A lot of filtering caps. Here's a :toast: to that.....Waiting patiently for the relase. :)

DON'T "play" with numbers esdee........! The 0.3V you are writing down is 300mV Vdrop.......You should write "0.03V" thas 30mV....... ;) :)

esdee, can you not crop the screenshot that much. if you save it as .PNG you can easly attach even whole 1600x1200 screen here (~200KB). would be nice to see clocks, cpu-z, a64tweaker and all the works...
what OS are you on? XP? is that why you don't use mem pages. if so, change OS, tweak it and 9k is yours @ the same sclocks ;)

otherwise, 292MHz looks really nice and good luck! :thumbsup:

this is max I got from my BH-5 so far, just for reference. I can go as far as 286MHz on that multiplier but Sandra would not show results for the love of my life - "something about module cannot be updated" :lol:

8683/8595 with A64 Winchester @ 310x10=3102MHz DDR564 5-2-2-2.0-1T - cpu-z verified

bachus sorry , i used the pic from thelab.gr where the size is pretty limited.
and there is nothing special on the screenshot we took of that sandra run
For 9K there will be a full screenshot i promise

the OS is w2k3 but something is wrong with the installation and i cant get the page files tweak to work.Ill have to re install w2k3.

there is some juice left on the mems but the CPU is reaching it's limits

i hope within a week ill have my new phase completed so i will have much time to bench without worryin about the dry ice.ill have some everest latency results soon too ;)

nice BH5 there! "something about module cannot be updated" i get this message when i tested my 2x512 UTT @ 280Mhz , 277 was fine tho

we'll update as soon as we bench again ... it's gonna happen soon ;)
