just wondering?
in case anyone cares ;)
damn, where did you get that?!?!?!?!?!?!
Good stuff, seems pretty nice!
can't tell where I got it........ SHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!Quote:

preety please?!?!!? I might get that instead of a Venice since I am on a budget. At least tell us when they are going to be relesed! Please! :D
btw obviously it's not going to dethrone the winchester/venice in any benches, but pay attention as this is a DO core, so basically a neutered winchester. The oc is killer for what amounts to the duron of A64's. I predict these little guys will be the next mobile AXP in as far as bang for buck for those on budgets etc.... Imagine a $100 cpu at this level. Will probably match a winchester at or near 2.5-2.6ghz in performance in MOST applications ;)
true, thats why I want one. So, can you tell us the relese date?
I wish I could tell you but honestly I don't know! This was given to me by an unnamed source and I'm just having some fun with it, and wanted to share ;)Quote:

btw is that on air
could you get another one from your unamed source? lol just joking, but that sempron is preety cool! Have fun. :)
had to lower voltage to gain super pi 32m stability ;)
btw this is box stock 4000+ aircooler
1.45v????? stock is 1.4 right, thats pretty nice, so more volts doesnt help to gain higher overclock?
Man, if AMD doesn't release Venice before this core, I'm going to be pissed... :stick:
maybe thats what they will do, all the winchesters they make they will turn them into sempy's and just push out venice's
wish my 754 did that lol
actually it's at 1.616v, that musta been a glitch on cpuz at the time
well seems I'm running out of mobo. The MSI just isn't playing nice much above 305HTT for some reason. Lower cpu multi in bios isn't allowing higher HTT scaling. Even tried 2x HT multiplier. Oh well, might try this in a DFI board later to see if I can get higher :). Would be sexy with some Mushkin UTT I have that goes 253MHz 1.5 -2-2-6 stable 24/7 and benches into the 260's :).
those sempron are default venice winchester.... so they must be nice cpus just with a default 256kb cache
So what is its standaart speed 1,8 or 2,0????
edit: Disregard this post, I'm a tard.

hahaha....whoops. Reading comprehension > me.
JNav89GT, even if you dont tell us, doesnt matter, thx so much for sharing :D Prolly the first pic of 939 Sempy and right here at XS for which I'm greatful  You might just make the Inq with that kind of exclusive info.Quote:

Very nice oc man  I think you just saved me from spending more on my p4 ;) Amazing Work !!!
Perkam
thanks for sharing!
Too bad there are no AMD64 instructions, I hope they change that for the official release.
It wouldn't quite be a sempron if they did that.Quote:

I agree, would be the smart thing for them to do to counter the Celeron wiht 64bit
Lets keep this thread alive, if the ol Winnie core can do wonders on a Sempy and have dual channel too, I'm very much interested.

wow, very interesting! Sempron processors were never ment to be released on s939, s754 = value/sempron, s939 = mainstream/highend. If they release a cheap s939 sempron that clocks well i might make the step to s939!
Impressive stuff John... with a stock hsf too :D
They do look good for cheap folding rigs. 939 Sempron on a Neo2 :D
if 3200 939 Semprons gonna be around 3200 and clocl like that, its gonna be a steal
This CPU will prolly be just as expensive as a 3000+ Venice... I know which one I'm going for.
Very nice OC on air though
Welcome to xtremesystems MrSlacker ;) :toast:Quote:

yeah stock air and really a nice cpu for what will probably be about a $100 cpu or so.
i doubt this will ever be released
probly just a demo of what it would be like on 939
Thanks Saaya for the sticky :D
Too late for that speculation I'm afraid, its already on the roadmap :up:Quote:

winchester eh? ...weird
can someone show me a link with a roadmap that includes this CPU. i looked on AMD's website, but couldnt find it
wow, these look great. I'mgoing to have to build another cruncher soon to save me spot on the team, and those would be perfect.
psssssssssssssssssssssssh i dont care for roadmaps. i wait till its in a shopQuote:

These are looking good. I was also thinking about an A643200+ Winnie or Venice, but these are looking pretty hopeful and I may be saving a few quid!
PS First Post
they've been saying since they released the sempron that it'd eventually go to S939, that was like over 6 months agoQuote:

the current winchesters on s754 have the Palermo core, also based on winchester architecture (stripped down cache)Quote:

which roadmap? c627627 makes his maps out of mainly speculation and rumours, thats how he can say whats hapening in the future
These chip won't hit the market anytime soon... The only s939 Semprons AMD makes go to the large OEMs and not to the market to be bought as a seperate CPU, so if I were you, I wouldn't hold my breath for one of these any time soon.
I wish j could disclose the source
i attend one of AMD closed seminar yesterday, and i ask "the Question" .. they said.. sempron 754/939 gonna have a 64 bit instruction if needed. :hehe:
wish I could, but I probably shouldn't even have posted this. I just couldn't contain my enthusiasm at this little wonder. :toast:Quote:

I did the downgrade from a 3400+ to a sempy 2600+ @ 294fsb... I get 10% less in 01 but in games it is hardly noticable at all... The secret of A64 is it's high l1 cache, l2 doesn't matter that much (compared to intel)
Semprons were suppose to be the new Durons, cheaper priced cpus, like Celerons. If amd was to put 64bit instructions. I dont see how the semprons would differ a Amd 64, other then the smaller cache. If semprons would do 64, I think it would hurt amd 64 sales.
Thanks
^^^^ true why would they enable 64-bit, tha's what makes them semprons is the lack of 64-bit
How much it is guys :woot:
Looks like HP will power desktop PCs with Sempron 939

Got a Compaq Presario sr1500an with a 3000+ Sempron 939 with SSE3 and x86-64.Quote:

Came into work today, will post results of it in a Ultra-D in the next few days.
any more news on the sempron 939? I'm still curious. I've heard that compaq sells them in complete systems, but that's all. AMD, sell me a 939 processor for $75! :slap:
two month old review
I think the only way to get them now it through a nice source, or to canabalize a HP/Compaq or OEM computer like that!!!
I'll post some 3d stuff in a bit :)
I got one from Ebay
Awesome Clocker.

that's great :)
Was it cheap, and did you happen to take a picture or write down the info from the heat spreader?
I'm curious about these; I'd like to buy a cheap 939 I could de-lid and not worry about.
Nice at 2950 ::p:

I tested sempron 3000+ sda3000 on winchester core. Got WR 3150MHz on it, under xperimental R290/R600a 50/50 phasechange (-35)
I'm hoping to god AMD comes out with a cheap, (competitively priced for competition against the Intel 805) dual core Sempron s939.
I want cheap dual core but i dont want a pentium d 805, and that GREAT clocking chip must be stealiing a bit of the light from AMD.
Ugg..
Nick
Got one of these for 65,-EUR incl. shipping, over eBay. It's a 0602FPAW CPU, but it's not a great overclocker. Needs some real volts to perform. Isn't even stable at 2.7Ghz with 1.6V VCore. Seems to need at least 1.625V. Perhaps it'd be a great Phase Change CPU. I'm thinking about selling it ATM and getting a Opteron144 instead. Well, the only concern I see is: What if the opty doesn't clock better? Would it really be worth the 100% price increase in comparison to the Sempron?Quote:
