Pot a picture of the board :)

Whats written on the ICs i circled, and can u take closer pics of the areas those ICs are in. Also mayhave to remove the otes.

Can you get photos of the areas I've circled. I don't know if you want a Vdimm mod as well, but I've circled a possible area for it anyway. I can't see any Vcore regulator on that picture, but it might be one of the chips I have marked.
Edit: oops, CaT got there first!
Hi, saw CaTalyst.X referring to this post over at extremeoverclocking, well this or another Vold mod post.
Anyway, I have the Fatal1ty AA8XE and didn´t have much to do so I took some pictures :) I couldn´t reach 2 places due to huge HS and GPU coolers :(
Here´s what I got so far:
Many thanks skuliaxe, well done.Quote:

Can you tell me what is written on the chips I have circled. These will probably be controlling the Vdd.
Also, can someone try to get a picture of the area under the 16x PCIe slot please.
I´ll get into the following tomorrow;
1) More pics of the circeled areas, with better resolutions.
2) Take my Gfx card out and get a good pic there...
I can´t get a pic of the CPU area though :( My HS has a H metal bracket that covert that whole area!
heh, could have taken the pics with the IC Markings up so I could read them :DQuote:

IC markings? Don´t understand...heheQuote:

I uploaded the stock photos to a host so I don´t have to reduce the size/quality...
Pic "mr.big" shows why I can´t get a good pic of the cpu area...
Great skuliaxe!
And great "Mr.Big" ;)
The writing on the chips, those are called IC markings. They tell you what the chip is, who made it, and what it does.Quote:

I think the Vcore regulator is a HIP6302, but I can't see that chip on the picures anywhere, so its probably under MOSFET cooling thing.
:( :(Quote:

indeed it would...
would this mod be the same for the AA8 duramax aswell? or should is start writing down some IC's for you guys...
my cpu cant go farther with out a droop mod...
and my cpu isnt' down for high FSB with a 20X multi... (anyone got a cascade for this thing? :p: )
I Hope Winbond will reply to you....Quote:

P.S. AA8 does have W83302s's. Peraphs mod is the same.... (sorry for my poor English).
Bye, Andrea.
any news????
I've emailed Winbond 3 times now, and I've had no reply. If you can find a mod which uses the same chip I should be able to adapt the mod to work with this board tho
Many thanks persivore for your kind collaboration.
I've emailed to Winbond too. No reply :(
I'm searching.....
Would it be possible to get voltage readings at each of the pins on the chip so that I can try to work out which pin might be the mod point. I've also posted this in another thread, and if I can get the voltage readings from 2 different boards using the same chip I should be able to compare the voltages and find the right point.

Many thanks for your efforts.
Thanks :). I think I know which pin is the mod point on the chip, but I can be more certain if I can get 2 sets of readings.
Hi persivore,
here my voltage reading...
first the 83320s chip near DDR slot:
http://img213.echo.cx/img213/9378/83...slot7vu.th.gif
and then the 83320s chip near Northbridge:

Hope this could be help you!
Bye, Andrea.
I'm 99% certain that I know which pin is the mod point. On the Vdimm regulator, can you check the resistance between the pin I have marked and a Vdimm read point (e.g. pin 7 on the dimm slot). Can you also get the resistance between the pin and ground.
Sorry but I'm not an expert of voltage readings etc..Quote:

If I've understand, Vdimm regulator is winbond 83320s chip near DDR slot, you confirm?
Bye, Andrea.
Yes, the Vdimm regulator is the winbond 83302s chip by the Dimm slots.
Ok ;)Quote:

Ill see if I can find out any more about that chip.
Hi Persivore,
since my friend is in holiday (as I told you) I would like to try to myself.
Please help me and confirm if my steps are corrects.
First of all I must set my tester in OHM reading mode right? What scale should I use?
My PC must be unplugged by A/C right?
After that, I point my 2 tester tips (red/black) one in 83320s pin you marked and one in pin 7 on the dimm slot right?
Also I point my 2 tester tips (red/black) one in 83320s pin you marked and one at ground (ex. chassis on my case) right?
Please confirm my steps and sorry for my poor electronic experience.
Bye, Andrea.
Yes, thats right :). Try setting the multimeter to a range of about 20k ohms. It shouldn't matter which way around you connect the multimeter leads either.Quote:

It seem that resistances are equal ;)
Hope this could help you.
Bye, Andrea.
Thanks for the readings. They are about what I expected. I think that this should work for the Vdimm mod: Conenct a 1Mohm (1 meg ohm) varaible resistor between pin 7 on the 83302s and ground.Quote:

Ok, next week (when my friend return from his holiday) I try for vmem and I will post the result after.Quote:

Hi! Persivore,
my friend has return from his holiday so I'm ready to vmod ;)
Please confirm PIN7 on photo
http://img67.echo.cx/img67/4128/aa8xeddrvmod9pg.th.gif
From my previous voltage reading I have 2,84 on this pin.
http://img213.echo.cx/img213/9378/83...slot7vu.th.gif
That's all ok? Can I proceed?
Bye, Andrea.
Sorry, I got the wrong pin in post #39. I meant pin 10 on the winbond chip, and not pin 7. Pin 10 is the pin which reads 1.19v from your readings, and as shown in this picture.Quote:

Could you please measure from the yellow line I've pointed onto the rounded choke(coil) to which Winbond IC leg is shorted or have a small resistance?.......

And what about the fsb vtt mod? Have anyone seen this mod somehere?
