Dual T.E.C. my journey to -37℃(39pics)

HOWLY CRAP
nice dude !!!
normaly you should pass 3ghz with a good cpu :toast:
-
That's absolutely amazing :slobber:
true craftsmanship
and I love the rabit :D makes for some nice contrast with all the cats roaming around at XS ;)
-
omg, thats insane !!
looks really tight

O-M-F-G
XTREME COOLING!
Not so xtreme results :( Get a better CPU :D
Are those 226 watt TECs? How does a single fan rad keep them both cool?
-
a single fan rad is enough to keep them both cool
-
Wow, that is soo cool. You should try it with a bigger rad to see if you get any cooler temps. You should get a better clocker under that and see what temps you can acheive. BTW, what power supply is that.
-
very cool. How much did it cost ya
-
What kind of water mixture did u use?
I used 1/6 Anti-freeze. Freeze temperature was -9°. I could add more but I have a huge reservoir, maybe your adds are better then anti-freeze.
-
Man, that looks like a company massed produced that thing. Mucho props on the awesome craftsmenship. lol I can never come up with anything even close to as how well put together that thing is.
-
very cool indeed. clean and extreme :toast:
-
Awesome work bro but get some arctic silver 5 and you will drop even lower. Its worth the money get a 12g tube and you'll be rockin...
-
very nice bro :) I think that if you try to cool better your pelts you will have better temps. Can you post a screenshot running prime to see how it holds at full load?

i didn't mix anything in the water.

Why would he be worried about freeze temperature of his water? He is not running chilled water he is using the water to chill the hot sides of the tec's. That means his water will be a very high temp and not a very low one.
-
sjx just to give you an idea with my setup dropped 30 degrees c by switching from the cheap ass white heat paste to artic silver 5. couldn't believe it dropped that much myself but with your sweet setup there you should spend the extra $ it will be worth it.

30C
I think you had a bad sink contact! :stick:
-
always a possibility but have had it apart many times and did everything the same when it was pulled apart the paste was spread evenly on all surfaces so i doubt it...
-
jesus dude, I think thats the first time I was impressed with how much effort someone put into Pelt Hardware :D
-
nice job man, you make pelts looks sexy heh

Yup, I know :D
Somehow i mixed up 2 threads

i'll try it, but it's not cheap, worth 140rmb in china
and what's your temp. then?
-
on an NF7 ser 2 idles -1c and load 6c
-
Looks very good!! Very professionaly made.
sjx-qd, are you by any chance from Hong Kong or China?

interesting pump ...what is it?
VERY NICE
-
hehe,very nice job !
I think a smaller and better-designed CPU heatsink could brings u lower temps :)
难得在这里看到咱们中国大陆的兄弟发这么强的贴!赞!!!
-
nice setup my friend, you've deffinatly influenced me!

Damn that's some nice pelt cooling you got there :slobber:
Looking sexy :D
-
level of craftsmanship is awesome!!!!!
c
-
i'm gonna buy some hotpipes to mod it to get a lower temp.
-
By the way: The foamy stuff is isolation.
Can u get a bigger radiator? the pelts create a lot of heat and if u can get more heat away from the blocks the temps wil lower a bit more is my guess (lets say: about 5 degrees?)
-
That is INSANE! Makes me want to TEC my upgrade. :) :toast:
-
?.....which would you all go with for a dual xeon.... dual 226 TEC with dual switching unit or a water chiller(ViaAqua)...and why. Stuck between the two....please help
-
That is the very finest tec setup I've ever seen, for what that's worth. I'd also say that it was very smart to use the tec's on opposite sides of a big chunk of copper instead of stacking them as most people think to do. Is this the record for lowest Pelt temp?
-
Nope, don't think so. I got -43°C, and I think there still are lot of people having lower temps.
-
First, let me say along with the rest here that you have done some superb work.
I believe that you have a lot of room for improved performance with the water cooling system. The first step would be to get rid of the "T" fittings and simply run the tubing in series from one block to the other block. This is an inexpensive change that should immediately improve your cooling.
The reason is that the "T" fittings split your flow rates almost in half, and flow rate is very important to water cooling.
The second change that can be made is using a "Y" or "T" connector to split the lines after the blocks and using two radiators, this will slow the flow rate as it passes through seperate radiators again improving cooling.
With these changes your system should be able to handle the heat better and keep the peltiers cooled properly.
-
first, very nice setup =]
@piper: K R noob to TEC and WC, but that doesn't make any sense - if you put the WC in series, the 2nd plate would be receiving the warm coolant from the 1st plate, shirley?
*edit* and the foam is INSULATION (put on some clothes) =]
-
Very nice craftmanship sjx-qd, little confused by your first post how many watts is each TEC?
-
Awesome work, it looks amazing!
Better keep that rabbit away from all the cats around here lol :p:
G
-
That is very smart.
Similar to a block a saw ages aggo, but yours is allot neater.
Good results as well.
All this talk of pelts has got me itching to make a new block and put the pelt back on my CPU.. I must resist temptation.
-
@ Piper:
improving the cooling: I would say using a radiator after eacht block, and putting everything in serie would be better. There is not much better than that I think.
-
Well, his flow rate through those blocks is already halfed and that really hurts, the water doesn't heat up in a water cooling system like you think it does.
It doesn't go into a block and come out a lot hotter, but it moves through picking up a little heat as it goes.
Each time it goes through a block, it is a little warmer, and that does reduce the cooling a little on the next component.
But more important is preventing the heat from building, and slowing the flow rates through the blocks reduce their effectiveness greatly, where as running in series is a slight increase at which point, you can split the lines, slow the flow rate, and cool very well in seperate radiators.
Just make sure the rads are good ones with low head loss.
Whittekakker and I are thinking allmost alike on this.
-
Thats some professional looking acrylic work on the mounts man, looks like it paid off too!!
First time I've ever seen a dual pelt system really work well (tried one a loong time ago with a Danger Den Maze 2-2 pelt. block with 2 x 172w pelts, I could get ice with no load but with load the temps were horrible, anyways the cat pee'd on it and that was that...).
I think I used the same exact Meanwell PSU too, is it the 500-24?
Keep posting stuff man, I do phase change now but quality work like this is always worth looking at (and praise!!).

theirs a different between C F...
-
Wow, that's an incredible job on that TEC setup............ how long did it take you to go from planning to building that?
-
U should use this on P4 mobile :eleph:
-
-
NICE :toast:
yes, the "clothes" are called INSULATION......
definitely try to get a dual or tripple fan radiator set up.....
WELL DONE
-
Very sweet set-up!!
TEC's can and do work!
sjx-qd PROVED it!
I also liked the rabbit.
"with all the cats roaming around at XS"
what is the deal with that anyway?
-
That's some nice engineering, verry impressive indeed! :toast:
-
why do we have to revive this thread every month...?
-
Lol you are right Bloody. I look and see a bump (of sorts) every single month.
-
well, I suppose this thread is kinda like a trophy for TECs... the one TEC system with actually impressive results... this thread should be stickied ;)
