thats a huuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuge PCB
ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh, dont wanna c the cooler 4 it :slobber:
Looks so cwooooooooool
Man it's if I imagine I put it on my mobo it's gonna b out of it :D
wow, its incredibly huge! i will be able to see it with my own eyes! whoohooo!
its a prototype though, the final pcb should be much smaller i reckon... IF they build a final card that is... :D
sxs, i replaced the image since it was loading so slowly, ok? :)
sayya dont forget 2 celebrate ur 15000th post :D
Just 3 left
i will! lol :D
OK,saaya :DQuote:

abit also claimed they would release a card that allows users to bump up vgpu and vmem, but they never did it... its just not worth it, too many cards would die in the hands of unexpirienced users i think...
too bad they cant make a special series of 100 cards or so with that option... but the design changes are too complex for such a small series i guess
Allowing for memory timing tweaks would be nice, without have to mess about flashing. I suppose half the cards would be RMA'd if adjustable rails were allowed. Surely they can put something onboard which can measure and store the voltage values - that'd stop wrongful RMA's.
PS: 15k get celebrating.
Wow, that PCB is huge, would prolly be bigger than the mobo lol
I don't see why getting this card would be better than 2 Ultra's, if it's ever released. And hopefully they don't make it just compatible with Asus boards like Gigabyte did with their 3D1
Damn sxs112 is the man for new Hardware..
that card looks Big, but DAMN! dual 6800ultras on one pcb.. i wonder if asus would sli 2 of those :)
yeah
two of this cards in one system are killer :D
the final pcb will be smaller, much smaller than two single card pcbs + fets +caps etc... its cheaper to build one card than two single cards :)Quote:

this would cripple the performence notably i think, and a 4 vpu solution would be very cpu limited as well...
That is just ridiculous :slobber: It's the size of a small motherboard for macci's sake :stick:
hehe :D
Plain 1337ness
Now where's that SLI connector?? :D
That's just great, wonder how it will do against Geforce 6800ultra in SLI.
:D No SLI connector so far - maybe this card won't work with current SLI,
SLI 2 is needed.......... :toast:
WOW Amazingly huge. This ES(is this prototype or final version) is bigger than my mobbo. :P
Damn, that sucker looks fun:D
OPP
Another great find SXS. Posted on the front page. You da man.
god that thing is almost the size of a mobo! as for no sli of that, maybe those are only capable of handling two chips in parrallel? I doubt this will fit in most cases anyway, way too big
T'would certainly take up all 16 PCIE lanes... I doubt two of these could be used for SLI. But that would still rule so bad... :D
I don't see why it wouldn't work in sli, only thing is it would have to be supported by the drivers which nvidia probably won't do. And even if they all ran at 4x, that would still be plently of bandwidth for them.
wow, awesome. i think multi cpu/ gpu is the new wave of things. sweet.
Nvidia should start making cpus! they are good chip making company.
I wonder what the power requirements for that card are?
I'd hate to shell out another couple hundred bucks for a 700W zippy, after spending god knows how much on one of those just. Then again if I could afford that I don"t think I'd care too much either.
HOLY mother of god!!!if only they could make an agp version of that somehow....also i like th eidea of giving that sucker an sli connector, imagine 4 6800 ultras tearing up a 20,000 in 3dmark05 :D
think of it as 2x 6800u's in SLI.....Pc Power and Cooling / OCZ offer PSU's that can handle that load for around $200-230Quote:

actually... I saw a test somewhere (maybe THG... dunno) where they got special BIOSes and taped off parts of the cards to run all the latest stuff at 16x, 8x, 4x, 2x, and 1x speeds. if i recall correctly, the only speed hits were in either professional applications or <4x (2x and 1x, that is). So, in the end, the performance boost of having 4 cores would far outweigh the fact that they each only get PCI-E 4x.Quote:

Either way, it would kick ass.
they should bring back AC adaptors , like what 3dfx had with there quad cpu Voodoo6 4 VSA-100 chips that never made it production.Quote:

That card looks like one hell of a peice of meat!! yummy..The wonder is..will Asus even put it in retail channel?
Wondering the same thing my self alot of this dual gpu's don't hit the market just like the 9700 and so many others ive seen the market just isnt there for most of them. But there is a 6600 dual gpu so... who knows
V5 6K didnt use direct AC power, that power adaptor was a power supply... just a small one.
Get ready for some hits, this thread just got linked on TheInquirer. Sweet card though.
It would cool to see the flip side. How much memory does it have? 1024Mb???Quote:

Just think about two of this monsters in SLI! Performance? Hmm....
Well correct me if im wrong, PCI-Express specifications go all the way up to 32x... so eventually you'll be able to have 4 x SLi (2 of these cards) with no problems at all
some more pics?

that about the size of a motherboard. lol , i like it.
It's really big :slobber:, I think we need bigger motherboards, lol . Xtreme cards for xtream overclockers :p:
Really xtreme if you can SLi them too :D
OMG thats a huge card
huge..
need a Full tower case plz.
ill take one of those with the ati mobo pls :)
This thing is like the shaquille oneal of videocards, are the actual dimensions known yet? :ROTF:
oh my hell. Thats not Retail size is it lmao. Please SLI that, Please. 4 GPU = pwn
Hmm dammit
*Note to self: Have to make roofscoop in Shuttle for new videocard!
I hope this is a beta PCB, because the layout looks like it was made up in 5 minutes.. Come on ASUS, you can do better than that. It won't fit even in some large cases in the current state.
Does that have 512mb ram!?!? :slobber: :slobber: . Thats an insane card. Would all that ram affect overclocking?
It has 256MB per GPU.
>>Would all that ram affect overclocking?
What's that supposed to mean? I don't think that card would overclock any good (ESPECIALLY ON THE RAM) - just look at the ugly PCB layout..
Fitting 2x modded NV Silencers (with 60mm fans) on that card looks quite straight forward, we can forget about putting our case side panals back on... :D
Think Dual 6800U SLI with quad NV Silencers. :banana4:
With that size of a board you might be damn near forced to run caseless if you aren't already... :ROTF:
