NF3/NF4 & TCCD - Highest stable clocks - REPORT IN !!!

Hello there fellow Xtreme OCers!!!

I know many of you guys have some TCCD mems (AData, Geil, Gskill, OCZ, etc.) and tried to squeze out last drop out of them... And now it's time to show it to all of us what those babies are made of.


NOW... Here's the catch! If you think that SuperPI 1M-8M or Sandra are a sign of stability, then don't even bother showing it to us... There are many other threads more suitable for that kind of "stunts" in Xtreme Bandwidth forums.

So, for instance, if you have a set of TCCD that breaks DDR600 barrier @ 7-3-3-2.5-1T w/ SPi 32M and min. x7 multiplier then don't hesistate and bring it here... It would be very appreciated if you could add Sandra and A64Tweaker screens at same exact settings that forementioned SuperPi run was made... Just to give others an idea how to make theirs TCCD perform stable at higher speeds ;)

Update Nov 25th, 2005: Any new entry above 315MHz x-3-3-2.5-1T is now ***required*** to be accompanied by at least 8 photos taken at various stages of SPi32M run. AndreYang's 321Mhz WR result is a PERFECT example of how it should be documented.

hmmmm do a bad processor can affect the memory stability? (mine is newcastle which won't stable @2.5 ghz no matter what vcore) or it's the motherboard?

I don't doubt that it runs prime95 for that time... but the point is to show SuperPi 32M run with other apps. Just like in my screenshot. That's why I asked politely...

In other words, I wanted people to sway away from just showing SPi 1M and run a bit more of that benchamark to show off stability.... And add A64Tweaker window so we could all see what's good for that particual;r TCCD at certain speed... That's the purpose of that little "requirement"...

szukalski, when the temp on the dfi nf4 boards goes (below 0C i think), it starts back at around 255C, so thats about -9C i think... unless its a lower value that it starts back at 255 at... :-\

I spent some extra time tweaking other timings to get 100% stable in 32mb SPI.

Just to let everyone know, just because it passes 20 of test 5 doesn't mean it will pass 32mb superpi. The 32mb SPI ss is worth it.

i didn't use clockgen for this, this is straight bootup and run superpi32M. i didn't do any tweaking with A64 tweaker, but just showed it for the timings and whatnot.

this is just about the absolute max for my memory, it took me 4 superpi runs and failures and going back into the bios and changing stuff to finally get the right settings. certain things i can tighten, like TRC and TRFC i have some room to move, but basically i am at the max voltage that is still helping, and i doubt i can do anything with bypass max and max async latency.

I only wish I had a better CPU, 2.5ghz is the MAX this thing will do prime stable. I can bench some at 2.6ghz, but it's not stable overall.

I think I might start gathering all that info in my initial post....

Here is my 24-7 overclock.. Its also 10 hours prime stable and maybe longer but I dont prime for more then 8-10 hours since thats usually ok for me ..

The cpu maxes out at 2.75mhz with the same vcore but I run it here because to get the ram higher I need to loosen the timings which dont make it worth it..

yeah, my bad it's 28m28s. highest fsb it will take 1:1 is 312x9 but I need +.35v on the core and my cheapy watercooler won't handle the heat well.

right now I clocked it down to 280x9 for everyday use.

When I push the fsb to 330x8 with a 166 divider I can get in to windows, but again it needs serious voltage increase.

280x9 I only need +.1v and my pi times aren't much slower.

Seems the limit to this core is around 2.85ghz.

I just got some TwinMos SP 2x512mb and they don't seem to have a problem with 3.5v! I did a burn in last night and I'm just now getting ready to take the SP to 263 (7:10) and see if it can knock a few more seconds off. Stayed tuned.

I've got two pairs of TCCDs, one is ADATA DDR566 512MB X 2, the other pair is Gskill PC4400 LE 1GB kit. The results on my 2 MSI K8N NEO2 Platinum are:
On board A, ADATA got 245MHz @ 3-4-4-8, 2.8V; Gskill got 260MHz @ 2.5-3-3-10, 2.75V
On board B, ADATA got 270MHz @ 2.5-4-4-8, 2.8V; Gskill got 320MHz @ 2.5-4-3-8, 2.8V

2 sets of TCCD myself, results on DFI NF4 Ultra-D:

OCZ 4200EL Plat, 2x512: 270 2.5-3-3-7 with 2.8VDimm
GSkill LA's, 2x512: 290 2.5-3-3-7, 2.7VDimm. Couldn't quite hit 300 with those timings. I did Prime95 them at 305 MHz 2.5-4-3-7 2.9VDimm, just to break the DDR600 stable mark, but I run them at 280 2.5-3-3-7 and pretty good lower level timings 24/7.

lol, whoops, this is that thread. :slap: I went ahead and just threw numbers up there after not looking at the first page again in a while. (I'd seen what you were asking for a while ago and didn't realize this was that post) I'll get some 32M screenies for you tonight. I started playing with the OCZ set again and have some different numbers for them anyway. Never tried them before with this cpu (claw 3500+), seems they'll run pretty close to my LA's after all.

Well, I have some old OCZ Rev2 TCCD sticks which I bought a long time ago and decided to post some results. Unfortunately, I can't get 300htt superPI 32M stable. My crappy cpu is not prime stable above 2.55Ghz either.
PI time might be a bit slow cause I did some background stuff :)

OK, 600 anyway on the OCZ 4200EL's. I'll get back to the GSkill's at some point, but they didn't do too much better. Both pairs went into the 290's at 2.5-3-3, both pairs needed Max Asynch => 8ns in the 285 range, both top out in the low 300's and both with plenty of room to slacken up tref, trc, trfc, trtw, and idle cycle, but none of that helps. They both act so similar I'm not sure they are out of room or if my mobo/cpu is. I want to play with this new DFI bios to see how my VX are doing now, I will post some LA results whenever I get back to them though.

my 2xDDR566 A-DATA TCCD's running rock stable @DDR606, but only @ 3-4-4-8-2T, and i don't know, why :confused: i've tried many things VDIMM from 2,7V to 3,0V, but they don't like it. the best perf i've got is DDR606 with VDIMM 2,7V.

And yeah it's very stable, folded at the same time I was running SP2004 ;)

Not bad, but not so nice either considering it was on phase. It's actually a CAAZC claw, best I can get out of it on the LS is 2.8GHz Prime stable. Good memory controller in it though. :) Got a 3500+ Venice now I'm working with to get my LA's updated in this thread. 3.05 GHz Prime stable with that one on phase, looks like a little higher for 32M SuperPi.

Well, this seems to be as far as my LA's want to go with 2.5-4-3. I may end up with an update later. I've avoided dropping to 2.5-4-4 but I'm going to go ahead and do that now to see if they'll stretch further for me.

@ bachus_anonym: This goes a little ways towards answering your call for Venice stability testing. I'll post up my best P95 in the Venice thread in a little bit. So far 3.05, but I want to take one more crack at 3.1GHz before I call it quits. 2.5-4-4 play first though.

hey bachus, do u know the average vdimm ppl are using to hit 300fsb with their TCCD? im using a neo2 (no volt mods), so the most I can get outta the bios is 2.85v, and it doesnt seem like thats enough for 300fsb. :(

edit: well I guess theres no real "average". i see u used 2.7vdimm, and others used 3.0v, others 3.1, etc

my 440 2x256 LA error out in memtest at 300 with 2.85v. guess i just didnt get a good pair :(

I had memtest running for about 5 minutes afterwards, but was too lazy to take another pic.

This stuff wont boot 2-2-2 no matter what i give it.. stock everything, 2-2-2-6 just wont happen. :mad:
