How come you always get so lucky?
-
it definitely looks like an xp-120 would fit on this board.
-
wow, couldn't help but notice the mobo has a 4 pin molex on it in addition to the normal ATX connectors, looks like it's built to take a lot of juice.
-
hopefully have one next week, went a bit mad when trying to find an sli board, so have a asus deluxe here, dfi should be in stock in uk 3rd week of jan, got an msi coming tomorrow or day after the diamond, i canceled order for the platinum, and had two leadtek gt's turn up too. fun couple weeks for me. the sinks on these leadteks are insane.

Awesome! but why do you take pictures of your dolls everytime you show a new board? Oh, nevermind.
-
Does the extra molex connector even help? The Gigabyte lacks one but I seem to be doing fine without it. Maybe it helps for Extreme overclocks...
-
I thought the Molex connector was to be used if you have a 20pin PSU and is unnecessary if you have a 24pin PSU?

OPB
** sorry guys, Cuz I am the first one have this board in US, so I need to have Oskar's promise I can post the benches; otherwise, he will hate me to the hell. :D Be patient. :p:
-
What's the (probable) price of the mobo when available?
-
i have one in 2 weeks
Please show as some benchmarks fast :exclamati
-
V-core Vdimm, etc options? Are they still same as beta board that was shown? I like the location of proc (rect 4pin) connector and bit larger heatsink for chipset.
-
I hope to get one too...
So the wait was really worth it this time...
-
req: some good OCs on your fx-55 on this mobo with chily1 cascade :)
-
Oh Mannnn.......
that thing is AMAZING. It is beautiful, it is an ENGINEERING MASTERPIECE. It is the jewel we've ALL been waiting for.
Notice to Asus/MSI/Abit>>>
DFI will own you all. Take a hint and start making REAL OC'er boards or you will lose th enthusiast market....period.
C
-
charlie, well  unfortunately ABIT did lost the enthusiast market already! (due to their a$$h0leness :D :D)
-
That molex connector is probably the same thing as the ASUS EZ Connector (or whatever it's called). For ASUS, that's what you use if you don't have the 4 pin 12V ATX connector.
So the question: When will we see this motherboard in the states? I plan on giving it a good home in a big Lian-Li with an Iwaki roommate.
-
This is driving me crazy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! AGGHRRRRRRR!!!!!
OPB why did you have to tease us like this? You are a sick man! Like teasing a hungry wolf. You are gonna pay! :D
-
Dammit, why'd I have to get an AGP 6800 Ultra and lock myself into AGP...
meh
Can you post any pics on how those jumpers work in more detail?

Agree 100%.
Btw, Charlie, doesn't that big red 4 in your sig count the days left until you get your hands on that DFI? :D
-
nice.. love the doll hehe... me thinks of getting a Kenshin one (same as avatar) just for hardware pic accompanying :D
-
:D Very intresting board - maybe best NF4. Better MEM divider than other boards and giant HTT, don't need the booster - it's "built in" and crazy Vcore of 2,1 - but we have to wait for its whole OC performance, I mean BIOS and bandwith and all the other stuff.
I'm looking forward to see if the DFI will clock better than NEO4...........
:toast:
-
yeah...hope to see ur test soon as I would probably rcv mine at end of jan locally....really can't wait after seeing that beauty...
-
Guys, settle down. :D
Remember the all hyped up DFI LanParty UT NF3 250GB?
I've got the feeling i'm one of last ones over here still using it. :(
Lets just hope this one will be something special and will see a new bios now and then.
OPB, i'm ready for your benches...bring it on! :D

2.8-3.0?
-
I suppose you're talking about GSkill PC4400-4800 RAM?
Wild guess : 2.70V ?
-
Oh I must get this mobo, but I'm going to wait for the new revision Winchesters. Plus I need to find a buyer for my AGP Geforce 6800GT.
My guess:
default/stock voltage for the RAM.
-
nah Zeus you're not alone NF3 250Gb :D
-
personally, not to say its crap, nothing close to that. but its not exactly a distant cousin to msi's design is it? yes much better voltage options, but most ath 64 boards are very very alike others and clock for clock its all about the cpu not what the board makers can do with the chipset.
Bios writing is pretty important, and we all hail oskar for his. But plenty nf3 150 and 250 boards could do great fsb. its more about the chip and the mem and getting a little lucky with the batches of both that you get in my opinion.
Infact, well talking from my standpoint, i'm happy with onboard sound/lan/most stuff, i need, if i'm being picky, one pci slot for my audigy 2, thats it. With 8 sata and two pata ports, you don't need pci raid, or lan, and if you want to capture video you do it on a cheap ass rig as it needs no power, theres few other uses for pci, also with zero availability of pci-e cards that aren't gfx i don't need a pci-e slot for anything but gfx, more space between cards is essential, and a little more space between gfx and cpu might go down better, can't quite tell but a tall topside insulation or heatsink on the upper most card could interfer with cpu cooling.
-
ah who cares its uv senstive!!! woot  , lolzorz this board is going in my atc-110 teehee

Difference with this board is the extra mile DFI went to ensure its a good quality board. That is, using high quality 6 layer pcb, really good japanese capacitors, sinking mosfets etc, most manufacturers dont do that.
and we've already seen this board is capable of 370mhz 1:1 (despite the crappy 3-6-6-12 ram timings)

Like everyone else I am (barely managing, lol) waiting for some benchmarks.
So Please, let OPB or someone post some screenies!
26th it gets to Oz... Seems like such a long time.
-
Damn nice board , DFI knows what Extreme peeps want :D
-
ok
guys, forgot to tell something:
Vcore is as promised: 2.1v
vdimm : 4.0v
some smart tricks there in the bios, I will have some upload later

Nice board and...the carpet!
Expecting your updates OPB

Onepagebook, hi, there is a 12V molex plug besides the chipsets, and a floppy power plug just besides the 4X PCI-E slot, I don't know what they are for, I plugged everything when testing. :D
I think one is for SLI power, just like Asus, but what is the other...? :D

whats is the black connections between the 2 PCI-X (16x) for?

They are sets of jumper to set SLI mode for SLI version,
1-2 PCI SLOTs PCI-E 4=X2 PCI-E 3=X1, PCI-E 1=X16, PCI-E 2= X1 CPU side
2-3 PCI SLOTs PCI-E 4=X8 PCI-E 3=NC, PCI-E 1=X8, PCI-E 2= X4 CPU side
:)

 Give us some results, better than NEO4 ???
:toast:

With this board I wont be needing booster right? I'm tired of resetting cmos and tunning booster all the time

I think the additional 4pin connector is when ya go over 4Ghz@2.1V :D

when will NDA ends?!

I am still doing test.
-
:D Hey OPB - found it - looking good and I know You're buisy but please,
please do a test on single phase.
Will be an importand decision for many people if to buy NEO4 or DFI NF4 and unfortunately there are not so many on cascades (including myself).
But I'm counting on You and as far as I can see You have nothing else to do but testing the whole day long  - so I'm optimistic You'll do it also on single phase.
:toast:
-
I thought review boards were released on the 10th. Shouldn't NDA be up by now?

Just looking at DFI LANPARTY UT nF4 Ultra-D it also has 2x16 PCI slots, so can you use SLI mode?
I think the only difference is the SLI Bridge is not included.
-
:D Very nice picture OPB - am I wrong or are You using only neopren for insulation? Or sealstring and neopren?
:toast:

afaik the difference is that the sli has 2 8x peg
and the ultra has 1 2x and one 16x peg

Nope nVidia i putting astop to that with the next driver release =/
Från anandtech:
"MSI confirmed with us that they are canceling their plans for an "SLI"-like motherboard based on the nForce4 Ultra chipset after pressure from nVidia to drop the project. But apparently, the newest NVIDIA drivers prevent this SLI hack from working. EPoX and DFI are both introducing boards using a very similar principle to MSI's DBS solution, but they both also face the threat of NVIDIA pulling the plug with next generation drivers."
:(
-
I think you neeed to plug the 4 pin Molex for going over 3.3v mem
-

There is a set of jumper if you want to use 5V rail for Vdimm, switching from 3.3V rail, then you can set as high as 4.0V Vdimm. ;)
Beware of excessive heat of MOSFET when using 5V Rail for Vdimm.

NDA finishes tomorrow doesnt it ?

-
I don't know what is this board, don't ask me :D
Here is some more!I did not break the rule, did I? :D
FYI
DDR670 CL2.5-4-3-7 and 335x10 for only 1.6v

nice clocks.
but I know there are troubles with multi 10.
I can do 10 x 280 with bh-5, only my scores are much lower then 11x260.
would you try 9x335 please ?

OPB why did you 'fuzzy' out the make of the board ?

really.... :slobber:
DDR670...I think your CPU can still go higher.... :slobber:
It is Dual Cascade cooling?

My god this board do look awesome. I think oscar and the gang :D thought of everything this time. Even the 3.3v -> 5v switch indicates this board is indeed made for overclocking.
