Hi,
I've a modded version of 1.5X Beta BIOS for the Neio 2 Platinum for you. It's for those don't like the loud chipset fan. All other hidden options are usable too. You find the file in the attachments of this post.
Maybe file ist to big. Uploading it is not working. I'll upload the file to my websapce now. Here is the link: BIOS 1.5X mod

what kinda extra performance u getting? any higher overclocks...? i think im on 1.51b now.... good idea to go to modded version?
Includes +18% vcore like in 1.36b bios?
i downloaded the attached file. Doesnt want to open... says something about binary file being unable to open :/
@Kuri, no I haven't found a way to make these settings selectable. For me it is not the problem. My winnie doesn't like any voltage about 1,55+10% setting. Tested this with 1.36b.

If you like silence, yes it is. With my watercooler setup this chipset fan is pure horror. Thats the reason why I've modded this 1.5X BIOS. I haven't tested if higher speed are possible now. My system is running with 2750=275x10 1:1 1T 2,5 3 3 5 rock solid at the moment. With 1.41mod it isn't 100% stable. Just give it a try.
Where you get this message? While unzipping, or while flashing BIOS?
I've flahed it with awfl833d using a bootable DOS floppy. No problem with that.
^^^ doesnt work via the Windows Update :(

Maybe. I never use windows flash tools. Try booting with a floppy. There's a guide here in this forum using beta files with the windows flasher, but I don't know where it is.
can you do me a favour, upload a zip file that contains everything i need to flash succesfully? i will do it via bootable floppy then..

I use A-data DDR 600 TCCD RAM in my system.

Fan control ist in the hardware monitor section. Just use the 40°C setting. Fan speed ist always the same. It seems that 40°C is never reached, because there's no stability problem with this setting. Well, the other setting only set a higher temperature where the fan speeds up. 40 is the lowest.

No Problem. It's not a big deal to mod BIOS files. Is the zip-file with flasher ok? I#ve downloaded it some minutes ago. Unzipping is no problem for me. But if there's a problem for others I'll upload it again.

It is ok for me :) Got my memory stable at 270x10 wich wasn't possible before (1.41b). I'll try more benchmarks later.

I have also Geil Ultrax and can't get anything stable and now I'm also at 270 with CL2,5-3-3-8 and 289 Cl2,5-4-4-8
but DC makes many problems :(
It is doing superpi 8Mb at 280 2'5-4-4 1T DC! It has never done that!
to everyone with problems with the files, dont use windows xp built in zip support, it wasn't working for me either, just install winrar www.rarlabs.com and it works fine.
this isn't a plug lol, it's just what got the zip to open on my end.
ok im having problems getting over 260x9 with htt at 2 so how are other peole getting higher oc?? shall i try and chnage my ram timmings?? if so what to?

Maybe your Winchester don't like it 2 cold, but if you raise the vcore and there is no boot something else must be wrong, you have the same problems with 2T?
Anybody with NON-TCCD memory getting higher o/c's with this?
I no have no floppy is there a way to use the live update to flash this bios???
can I just rename the bin and use live update do the flash
I did this to install 1.36b...I renamed to 1.4 bios and installed ok
has anyone tried..I a mwould like to give this go but I do not to get a bad flash...

Well i will try it again whe i get my newcastle, i just sold my winchester.
I am using it, the lack of 15 and 18% in cpuvid isn't good thou, becasue my vcore setting doesn't work so I can only get 1,63 vcore atm...
1.36b is all you ever will need if it doesn't work right something is wrong from the start.

wat are the changes? i need to feed my amd up to 1.71 voltage to get it stable. is the voltage selction percentage can select up to +18 % ? thank you by the way

1.5 mod is the modded version of 1.5 offical BIOS. 1.5x is a beta version.
all hidden options are selectable. For example the speed of the chpset fan.
Maybe a mod of 1.6 offical follows.

no, the only bios with 18& is the 1.36mod
Hmmm...well my board now refuses to boot at over 300HTT; a bit worrying considering it would boot at 340 previously! Maybe all this bios flashing (through windows) has messed my board up. :(
There's an already a mod for 1.6 out, but i've lost the link for it! The official 1.6 is not that good however.
ok, search for it. I've swapped to DFI NF4 several weeks ago. If I'll mod 1.6 it will be an untested version. The 1.5 is the last version I've used on the MSI.
Yeh, i've already tried the 1.6mod...it fixes the temp issues etc with the official 1.6 and seems quite stable too. Along with the 1.5x Mod (which ive just tested), the 1.6mod seems the most stable bios for me so far. :)
Whatever you did to that 1.5x bios works a treat! :thumbsup: What did you use to mod the MSI files?
EDIT: still can't get it to boot as high as before, even with a flash using Awdflash / floppy! Guess it wouldn't be as addictive if there wasn't the odd problem to sort out :D
Well it's no big deal. Just load it into modbin and unhide the hidden bios menu items. Very easy to do.
With the DFI there's no need to do so. All options needed are in normal bios already. If you're searching for a new one it's the first choice.
Hmmm....yeh that's what i've done with bioses in the past...just the modded version from you seems to work better than the original 1.5x so i thought you might have tweaked something else - must just be a quirk!
