Yeah, we had some older cats at one point. One died from natural causes and the other had to be put to sleep...her kedneys stopped working right and other problems...it would be too hard on her to even try to get her going again...RIP

lol, i never expected this thread to be stickied when i mentioned it should. i used to be a dog person, but my apartment building doesn't allow dogs but does allow cats. i picked up what i thought would be the most 'dog-like' cat i could find. the dog-cat thing is kind of like the amd/intel, ati/nvidia thing. there's no truly valid reason to prefer one over the other, just personal preferences. i've converted from intel/ati/dogs to amd/nvidia/cats this year. my cat loves to watch me when i open up the case and do stuff to the computer. he nods his head and watches intently, like he knows what i'm doing. i think i'm going to need intensive psychiatric treatment after seeing the pic that trans am posted. i've been to alvin's (trans am) house, this is a typical saturday nite over there, you don't want to see what happens when he feels like overclocking his cat's social life.

i am in the exact same boat as jikdoc cause i was always a dog person as well.
but my apt didn't allow dogs but only cats so i picked her up cause i wanted an interactive pet.
i find that cats are more human than dogs just cause they have mood swings and unique personalities whereas dogs are more of a pet and does anything for treats.

They are the reason I'm spending so much time computing, if I stand up one of them jump on my chair and there is no chance for me to get it back for a few hours.
I also have to watch always that they don't come to close to my case, it's always open and the crazy cats have a lot of fun to watch the spinning fans and want to play with it !!!
But I don't want to miss'em - they are part of the family and have a good life and not my problems - they do not know anything about MHz and FSB !!!

yeah, it shows how well cats and dogs can get together. My friend's dog got into a fight with a cat when she was young. Poor dog...she had to go to vet to get her eye fixed up.

yeah, my cats do like to do that. An ungarded glass of milk and they drink it. They also like to eat otmeal while my dad is eating (as in try and get it off the spoon before it ends up in his mouth. lol)

elisha, elmer is a sinister cat. He likes to take chunks out of my moms leg if she trys to move him to get by him. he also is very mentally unstable. That combined with the fact that he is insanely strong, makes for an intersting mix. My dad always jokes he will come home one day and me and my mom will be torn to shreads with elmer sitting there lickign his paws....
He thinks he's part dog, He's a real chow hound sometime's when he's done with his food he'll run over to the dog's and eat her's too. The dog just look's at me like WTF. Some cat's are lactose intolerent. This little girl love's milk but milk doesnt like her at all. But she keep's coming back for more, we keep it to a min. The big gray next to her is her son (dog food boy) when he drinks milk he fart's up a storm :fart: so we try to keep him away from it completely. A Main Coon is a cat-race, not that kind of race like who's the fastest but a sort. :D
Training a cat is what you make it, i punish my cat with a water-sprayer (the one you use on plants) if she does something naughty.
Never yell at your cat or beat her, you'll only scare her.
Just a loud "no!" has got to do and if she remains stubborn i'll get the waterspray.

nah she's fine. i say NO and she 90% of the time listens.
i never yell at her when she does something bad. i hold her like a baby and talk to her and tell her ot to do it again.
she scratches the sofa and the carpet nothing major.
she plays rought but licks the spot she bites to make it feel better.
she doesn't scratch when she is the car which is a good thing since everything is leather in my J30.
i just wish i could train her like how you can with a dog.
for instance jump into my arms. sit, lay down or go when i tell her to.
depends from cat to cat. Normally you can't truelly train them to come when you say so. But some cats, like one of mine will come if you...
