C, I always love to see you showing on my thread. :D
I will feel very happy all day, Master.
-
very nice, now benchmark them :)
btw does the first card (upper most slot) gets enough fresh air to survive? doesn't look like there is very much space between both of them.

then you probably need newer bios! ;)
-
Looks very tight in my opinion.
-
ya..it's very tight for both 6800 ultra on air..but not for h2o:D
-
Have you tried to mount waterblocks on them?
-
water blocks should be pretty easy with SLI, especially on the Asus SLI board....
Chilled water GPU cooling will be the HOT TIP for SLI, since phase changed 6800's don't work well anyway.

Onepagebook Where did you get that toys? Looks pretty nice! And performs nice too, i think :D
charlie so Barrett rifles goes in SLI mode? :)

Thats a Pretty Bold comment there man, If you havent noticed Creative Males the BEST and ONLY TRUE PC gameing Videocards out. They Basically Hold The Gamers Soundcard Market by the Ropes.
Creative Onboard is Awesome. Hopefully its a native Sound processor so it doesnt hurt Cpu Useage. Creative onboard would most likely Kill the ac'97 codecs :D
-
When you get tired of playing with that setup, please feel free to ship it FedEx to my door. ;)
-
Wow they look nice. Got any jobs/need a UK rep onepagebook ?
-
Piece of sh*t
Creative hasn't done anything well since the SB live, everything after that has just been a very minor rehash. The ZS added a little extra clarity to the sound, but they still havn't come up with anything close to the feature set of the Aureal A3D which was around at least 5 years ago. Don't start with EAX, that just adds dumb stuff like positional sound (Which doesn't even work well), reverb, echos, and muffling. It's not good for pro users because of the lack of ASIO ins and outs and its not good for gamers relitive to the Aureal offerings because those acctually rendered the scene and calculated how sound moved around, off of, and through objects. The only reason Creative is still around is because they had a large finiancial backing so they can just buy the other companies untill they were the only option.

They are the the "best" one because they are the only one, they bought their competition.
Yeah, they acctually will beat the crap out of the AC97 stuff though, I didn't think about that.
-
amen to that craig. Im tired of creative. I want my nforce sound back. Since i got rid of my nf2 board ive been depressed about the ac97's less than spectacular sound quality on the speakers and the mic. With electrostatic headphones you can hear every little hickup and I get horrible interfearance... I might just have to go back to my soundblaster live to cure this problem...
-
^^ im going /w these two fellas, creative delivery Bs tbh.... i use video logic santa cruz :D
-
Let's stay on topic, please.
Don't think this is the right topic to discuss whether Creative makes good sound cards or not. There are other sections on this forum to talk about this.
Thx.
-
Will wait for Chilly'w cascade since I also got final exam now..sorry guys.
-
noooo! any hints on performance before you go? How much past 10k in 05 have you got so far? a little or by a significant margin? Anything to keep us going untill your exam is over, (good luck by the way).
Cheers, dEl

Looks like you've got plenty of ciggies to smoke there!
It must be stressfull playing with all that hardware! :banana4:
-
Few Q's (for when you get round to testing it): -
- Using 24-Pin ATX do you still need to use the 4-Pin connector?
- All SATA ports locked?
- No PCI-E 1x slots?
Also, shame its not Via Envy onboard sound :( (sorry Jupiler)
-
what kind of onboard sound is it? a live? an audigy?
-
Now thats what I call ...Power! very sweet lookin SLI setup there. wow
*druels
-
I hope you get an a on the final then please to door 1.
And let her rip.
-
yeah good luck with the finals onepage, I feel ya I got 4 in a row :(
-
I've got a C-Media 8736 I think. Works very well for me, especially their Xear 3D feature as it lets me get high quality surround sound with my headphones and 2.1 speakers. Sound quality is good too, but I'm not a huge audiophile though.
-
-
Do you have any idea when the MSI NF4 Ultra and SLI is coming out? Yea I also don't see any PCI X1 slots...What kind of creative onboard soundcard is that?
-
Well being in Aus, we always get everything last.
Sure would like to get my hands on MSI SLI diamond.
Onepagebook i noticed from you pics that the NB looks slightly different, has MSI made any changes?
-
Anyone knows something about the 6800GT/U's PCI-E availabillity?
Nice setup OPB and good luck in your exams.

Brain and r2,
I believe that not much change for NB fan on MSI Diamond
the PCI-E version of GT and ultra is NOT available right now! ;)
-
wow!! nice, but very expensive rig! cant wait to see some bench-action! lets rule the orb :p:
-
Whens the cascade gonna meet that setup? Any hints on 05 scores? Hope your exam ran as smooth as HL2 will on that rig  .
Cheers, dEl.
-
 cant wait to see some numbers!
-
Will any manufactures be bringing out single slot design 6800u's? like ASUS did with the V9999 on agp. Having said that I'll be watercooling anyway so shouldn't matter.
-
I wonder how long before Asus puts out 6800U/PCI-E for retail
in North America.
:bsod:
-
A quick google reveals that that creative chip (CA0106-DAT) is the one used in the Audigy LS.
