Good , no one has that problem?
so you guys better keep 1.41 bios running, I got 1.51 already;)

new BIOS???????
Gimmmeeeeee Gimmmmmeeeee!!!!!!!!!!
OPB, MSI's hero :D
Shoot me a PM. I'll host the 1.51 BIOS.
By the way, what's new and improved with 1.51?
Be patient, my Jedi Master..conrad.marananll post that. :DQuote:

my pm is nearly full..lol
Hmmm. This BIOS is very interesting. Last night, I wanted to see what my max memory OC at 2-2-2-10 would be using 2x512MB OCZ PC3200 Platinum Revision 2 modules. My CPU clocks well, but my memory controller is holding me back. Anyway, I couldn't even complete the initial loop in SuperPi 32M at 211MHz. I repeated the test several times, all to no avail.
With BIOS 1.51, I was able to complete 8 loops of Super Pi 32M at 217MHz. I'll play around with my voltages and see if I can get it stable enough to complete the whole run.

1.51 - when the hell is MSI gonna release an official BIOS already!!?
pm to youQuote:

I agree that MSI needs to release an official 1.4 or something. Hello?!?! There are quite a few of us that would appreciate some support! We did shell out a buck-twenty-five for the board. A little bit of help would be nice.
ah...that's weird...for me , it's still same nice BIOS with newer raid bios from NV (4.71)
and I even can get the 295(ddr 590 1:1 quite stable!)
I will definitely talk to MSI RD see if anything need to be improved.;)
Okay. I flashed back to 1.51 and figured it out. The settings on the RichTek ethernet crap was reset for some reason. Back to testing. :D
Err? the linky somewhere yet?

So what is the improvement in the 1.51 beta bios over 1.41 beta, is it better?
What are the vcore option in the bios settings?
Could you pls send it this way i wouldnt mind trying it out: arturd2@netspace.net.au
Onepagebook do you have any idea when MSI will release an official bios?
From what I've tested so far, I'll say this BIOS allows for more stability. I wish the 13%, 15%, and 18.3% options for VID would have been implemented in this release as well. Oh well.
Whats the max you can push your plat rev2s on 2.85vdimm and 2.5-3-3-8 1T timings?Quote:

How would one go about getting some GSkill Ram down here in Australia??
I have access to getting most RAM at distributor prices but alas I cannot find GSkill here in OZ :(
Right now, I've only got access to BH5's only & am thinking that the BH5's are holding my OC back...
They (BH5's) don't seem to like dividers... I've tried at least 2x256MB KHX3200, 4x256MB XMS3500 as well as 2x512MB XMS3500... All the 256MB sticks are good for 250MHz but don't like dividers somehow with the boards I have...
Either that, or my 3200+ Winnie & 3500+ NC haven't got very good memory controllers...
BTW, you have PM..
Cheers,
Minnyboy
Please refer to this link. I do not know what I can accomplish at 2.85V because I've been pushing 3.4VDIMM to my modules using a DDR Booster. At 2.5-3-3-10, I can pass infinite loops of Memtest Test #5 in dual channel @ 300MHz. However, I can not boot Windows at that speed due to a weak memory controller. If I recall correctly, running one stick of RAM through Memtest gave me 312MHz @ 2.5-3-3-10.Quote:

Just had a look at your thread in the above link, first like to say you sure put some time in order to complete those test, well done :toast:Quote:

I didn't run Prime95 for those tests. I ran Prime95>Torture Test>Blend>Priority 10 for over 12 hours after I completed my comparisons in the linked thread. 267MHz @ 3.3V to 3.4V using 2.5-3-3-10 timings in dual channel mode is my absolute best and rock-solid memory overclock on my current configuration. I'd expect a little bit more if I had a better CPU.
Cool thanks for that, i justed wanted to compare as i have very similar setup as you, the only diffirence is i have 3200+ Winny.Quote:

In windows i can pass 32MB run with 277HTT 1:1 on 2.85vdimm, didnt try priming as i dont use much anymore because it can be a pain. In earlier tests i did prime stable for 8Hrs+ at 267HTT 1:1 2.8vdimm :p:
Now that i have the booster installed i will be able to see what the rev2s can do. The odd thing i found that the booster seems to report slightly lower vdimm ie:bios=2.7, booster reports=2.6vdimm. But what i figured that is normal as the booster doesnt report .5 readings.
Also the bios version plays a big role with 1:1 o/c as i noticed. Using bios 1..36 gave me really strange memtest results, with bios 1.41 was much better now that im using 1.51 should really see some improvement.
Im also planning on getting the OCZ 4200 plats :D
Just keep in mind that not all Revision 2s favor voltage. Picking the right BIOS can truly be a chore. I've had best results with the official 1.3 and the beta 1.36. Beta 1.41 caused very strange events to take place. 1.51 seems fine, although I wish the upper range VID settings were included.
Could someone pls PM me the BIOS?
I can host it also, to give some more places and make it easier to get.
Could someone PM me the BIOS aswell? Looking forward to testing it. My 3500+ Winnie will do 2.6GHz PrimeStable @ 1.5v, but won't go any further. I now it's not the RAM or anything. I just doesn't like more voltage. Hope this bios fixes that problem for me.
why don't published this bios and always using PM?
i need the bios too :D
dresign@web.de kevin ;)
Send me that bios in MP and i'm going to put it on my website ;)
me need bios too please.Quote:

Can run infinite loops or memtest at that speed (including test8 ;)) and run any benches etc., rock stable with CL2.5 3-3-8 timings.
Waiting the 1.51 to be uploaded so i can report back with any improvements on speeds etc.

gimme gimme gimme
FFS...post the linkage already....!!!!!!!!!!
I would like to download the new bios too...
Sorry, Kevin. I just can't keep up with all of the PMs that are coming in. Let me know if you want me to take the link down.

Thanks for hosting the BIOS conrad, much more convinient for the rest of us. :toast:
Interesting. I actually had worse luck with 1.41 than 1.36 for stability on high clock. (no so high FSB as I am on x11 multi).
This bios seems to do better than either. Priming now @ 3ghz with 273x11 2.5-3-3-10 TCCD @ 1.81v ish v-core. (fluctuates between 1.79-1.83) Been priming for last 40 mins so I presume it will be fine. Maybe I will be able to prime @ 3.1ghz with enough volts... (maybe 2v? :P)... problem is... I don't think I will try that since prime = long time test and 2v doesn't feel too comfy yet when I have decent chip already.
(ahh this is with VDD mod off. I couldn't get memory to stablize with out vdd mod around this clock rate before)
jinu117, could you post relative pictures of your Vdd mod on this
http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/...&goto=lastpost
thread please?
Cheers :)
Tried the bios dudes and it fooked my sata3&4 for some reason :S, couldn't boot into windows but it could recognise the SATA's... had to plug them in sata1&2, repair windows - install old bios version and then connect them back to sata3&4 to work back again did this happened to anyone ?
Btw, still vcore is down to 1.6v tops :(
Maybe your CMOS was cleared out during the flash and you didn't re-enable the SATA 3 and 4 ports.
Is this bios going to fix the 90nm/phase problems? It looks like 1.41b fixed it but it also locked the vcore at 1.6v. can someone make a bios that works with -0 temps and 90nm and have the vcore options and keep sata 3 and 4 from running wild please?
Yes i did clear the CMOS, but both SATA were enabled, otherwise it wouldn't had found the SATA drives at all durring boot up.
Tried to re-install windows as well but it seemed that whenever the mobo tried to use the sata3&4 it was crashing :(
Or maybe the files i downloaded were not downloaded OK ?!?!
We'll see if anyone else had same prob.
Arghh... picture request again for vdd mod? :P here it goes... but it is basically same stuff as Kyosen's :)
PS) Bah... don't know where the pic is now... it is floating around somewhere here in forum though as you are not first person to ask. Same thing as Kyosen. the bottom var is for VDD mod.
Another useless Bios release. Nothing. Back to 1.2, I just wonder when I am going to kill this board with all the flashing. :D
jinu117, i've seen Kyosens pic, just isn't clear what feets of the components i should solder the vr... could you post one of your mod on the relative thread if that's ok?
Cheers
Get K8N Neo2 1.51 BETA BIOS here:
http://bilder.nogger.net/~xphaze/7025NMS_151.zip
Please post what you've discovered about this bios release. I know there is an updated nvRAID firmware though. :)
Hey guys, I've got 2 Maxtor SATA 80GB not in Raid and now I've just installed an IDE driver, but There is no way to boot using SATA anymore. (Win was installed on SATA drive)
How can I fix it?
Did this happen after you installed the 1.51 bios?
So what is best, 1.36b, 1.41b, 1.4 official, 1.51? I'm running 1.36b myself still, and about to install my prommy, which one is having the least ammount of issues with sub zero temps?
Still trying to find a way to make it boot from SATA first then IDE (yes, I've checked the boot priority)
Strange, I just flashed to 1.51 and my raid 0 on sata s/4 work absolutely fine....
One thing I noticed with all the neo2 bios's, is that I'm completely unable to load windows when using the ram dividers 166, 133, and 100. Is anyone else unable to use the dividers in the bios?
Those dividers seems to work alright here, no problem found.Quote:

almost same here... i can load windows but system is not stable :(
Although i've noticed just right now that the prime errors i was dealing had to do with the HHT speed! :S sounds weird but i had it at x3 before, now at 4x and prime runs absolutely fine even with less vcore!!! Must be some kind of bug on the mobo or cpu :p:
Trying to overclock more now if my mems can go more 8-).
well for me with 1.5 windows doesnt even load.. I had to make a flash disk to even get my sysytem back.. luckily i got it back on 1.3 now... need to go winflash it to 1.41
where can I dl the 1.51 BIOS ?
thanx

you can download it in the first post in this thread :)
Im using the 1.36b bios cause of sticking vcore options. I tried to flash to 1.5x bios before and windows would hang on the loading screen. Is this because of the new raid bios? Do you need to reinstall windows? (using sata 3+4 raid0)
sory but the link is broken
