Avatar Thread

Figured we could use a thread here for those that are interested in having avatars made.

Please note that most of us do not have the software needed to animate a single picture (Such as an old, single-frame avatar). Don't be afraid to ask, but don't get your hopes too high, chances are that we cannot do what you have envisioned.

Here's how it works:

• Request an avatar. Give as much detail as possible.
• Watch, and wait, for your avatar to be posted.
• When your avatar is finished, it will be posted for you.
• Please credit the artist who made your avatar in your signature. Something along the lines of
  "Avatar by [artist's name]".
• If you are unsatisfied with your avatar, let us know. Chances are, we'd be happy to rework it for you!
• Do NOT EVER, EVER EVER EVER take someone elses avatar. Do not copy someone's avatar, do not steal their avatar, do not post someone else's avatar in this thread for someone else.
• Please, no chatting, that just wastes space and makes us have to edit the thread unnecessarily.
• Be patient. Remember, there are limited folks here to work on one for you.

If your interested in learning how to make your own, please post in a seperate thread, not here, so we can keep this thread clean. It will be cleaned up on at least a slightly regular basis.

ok, hope this is not too much but here goes...

It's a picture of a Great White shark comming at you. You can see the dorsal fin above the water. Below the water you can see the shark with it's mouth and teeth open as if you're about to get chomped! Above the surface of the water the caption "preceived cost" and below pointing at the shark "actual cost".

mine is straight up ms paint, i took the a64 logo, shrunk it, and inverted the colors. its bright, and intense.

From what I can tell the avatar you want to use should be usable. It doesnt seem to be over the sizing restrictions.?¿

Thats what i thought too mate ,but i get the "to big" message.

if iam not mistaken the max avatar size is 16kb your gif is 24kb

Seems to be a bug in the settings right now....180x180 or 16kb....I scaled it down to 180x154, but there's no way I can get it to 16kb....my avatar isn't even close to 16kb.

I have it saved so when they fix the guideline I can adjust then for the highest quality.

If someone is really into it, and have lots of spare time, there is one thing I would like with my avatar :)

Taking the screen took some effort as I had to catch the logo off one of my legally bought dvd's without using overlay. Nonetheless that worked out nicely.

What I would like ist he "flower" (or whatever it is to) to transform into a skull resembling this one

The wording "directors label" could transform into something equally crude, such as "today is a good day to die".

Or, if someone could at least post the programs I should acquire and books/sites to read on the process. I had this idea in mind for about 2 minutes now and I rather like the sound of it :)

cunningham is amazing, he's my fav, probably cause he does vids for Aphex Twin, whom i love...

im sorry but im really busy at the moment and dont have enough time to get the image under 16kb. here's a gif that's just a little too big. if you can make it smaller, then there you have it.

With a plugin for Photoshop caled Alien Skin Xenofex 2,...it has a Crumple efect in it,...real easy,..just crumple the image to one point then to that in reverse,...combine them with a Gif Editing tool like GIF Movie Gear and you's done ;)

Alien Skin Xenofex 2... thats a cool plugin. I never used it before, but then again I suck a photochop. Thanks for the info on how to export it as well. I will try it tonight and see if I can make it work.

You can sorta fake it with some skill, but for the real deal you would need diffrent pictures.
