Hello hello what's this OCZ 300MHz @ 3-2-2 stuff ?

What's this about ? Another type of EB ?

IT'S NOT A nuclear powered space ship, it's just a special high voltage RAM for overclockers. It's nothing less and nothing more.
Still if you are knee deep in the overclocking waters, you have to follow what OCZ, Corsair, Muskin, Kingston or other memory companies have to say to see what's going on. This time it's all about OCZ which will introduce PC 3200 low latency memory that will offer very high over:banana::banana::banana::banana:ing potential and will work at low latency speeds.

This memory will work at DDR 400 speed with normal voltage, but if you give it 3.0+ volts it will overclock it at much higher speeds. You will be able to shove it over 500MHz and make it work at 3-2-2 timings. If you are brave enough and if you push it up to 3.3+ volts you might be able to clock it up to 550MHz and still manage to get close to 3-2-2 speeds.

Overall, if you are a overclocker and if you are not happy with your latencies and speeds of your memory this might be a good catch. It should be announced and available soon. µ

So ya gonna supplement the furnace for the winter w/ these :D (need 5 dimm slot board, 4 for DC + 1 for booster so that proper heating occurs :D)

I just got a 1gig pair of 3700EB and a booster will I still be able to push this ram on the 939 MSI to 260 1:1 ?? :confused: My fx55 is here later this week.

Does this improve a lot with better cooling like EB did, or is it one of those chips that doesn't really need cooling? What kind of warrantee does this have, would hate to see it void above 2.9v.

Isn't is only the s939 with their DC stuff, that can be destroyed by high voltage? (looks nervously at s754 with 3.5v on RAM)

I have a question for Ryan or Bigtoe or anyone with this hardware. Can the ocz rambooster help my 1gb 3700EB get a higher more stable overclock with my up and coming setup.

This is the harware I have to go into my new rig:
I gb dual channel PC 3700EB platinum
OCZ ram booster
MSI neo 2 platinum 939 pin
FX 55
pci Raid card
2 36 gb Raptors
X800XT VIVO
prom 1 original unmodded
The big question is did i BUY THE WRONG RAM?

I overvolted my 3.3v to 3.8v(max on OCZ 520w) and I then use 3.5v, since the board apparently cuts the voltage by -0.3v with respect to the 3.3v rail(or so I have read).

I am quite nervous about burning the memcontroller at this voltage. Should I be concerned?

We wouldn't sell ram with a max voltage of 2.9V that needs 3.2V+ to perform ;)

The booster will help on that system. Running about 3-3.2V will let you max out your memory with best timings. Make sure you also cool the ram and booster well so that everything runs cool :toast:

Oh and also don't go cheap on the PSU. Lots of amps on the 12V rail is where it counts right now (30A or more would be best)

I'm thinking of using an existing newer Antec true power 550, but it lists only 24 amps max on the 12 volt. Will that be enough? I could afford a higher output if nessesary, any suggestions?

but yeah serisously how hot will these chips run? i guess some heatspreaders will actaully come to use.

also can i make a quick suggestion for the heat spreaders? give them a wave. like \/\/\/\/\/\/ except not so dramatic. could dramaticly increase surface area and cooling for chips like these that will probably run pretty toasty. ;)

yeah i think it would be in ocz's best interest to release these dimms fairly cheap compared to others, for the main reason you will also need to buy a booster to get anything good out of it.

3.2Vdimm 775 550 P4 with the 14 multi as im only testin ;)

Seems 240 is the max 2-2-2-5, moving to 2.5 gets me even higher but the board is not to hot with ddr1 where it flies with ddr2.

I will swap boards to continue.

OK....DFI NF3 250UT with Powerstream PSU 3.3V at 3.65V. 1 dimm at 3.5Vdimm, timings all set in bios but Tweaker screenie so you know its pretty much tweaked out.

Little off topic here, but can you comment on this from a review of the DFI 915-T12 at Tech-Report.

In testing, I was able to get both boards comfortable up to a 220MHz front-side bus. No amount of fiddling would get either board to boot with a faster bus, and since I've had this Pentium 4 520 2.8GHz stable with only 1.4V on a 255MHz front-side bus on an Abit AG8 motherboard, I suspect the LANParty boards' missing PCI bus lock is the culprit.
