i drive some tests with those mods and it works fine,

Another thing. Have you had any problems with P5P800 detecting frequencys wrong at post and in bios when going at FSB's beyond 250MHz? The FSB seems unstable to when exceeding the speed of 250MHz... open CPU-Z and it would detect 255-260-265-268-269-270MHz... just an example.

If the resistance there is the same as it is on the P4C800 then you need 28k ohms of resistance.

Sure ya can bud...just most people dont because they are scared of bridging the pins together, or other pins, and causing a short circuit.

Did any of you experience any wierd things with the FSB at all?
That could stem from all kinds of problems, or glitches.
That could be a simple bios glitch, a chipset problem,...things like that.
I have never modded, nor owned a P5P board, so I am not familiar with it all as far as how it clocks and things like that.
I have encountered things like this on other boards, and typically a bios changed fixed the improper readings.
It's not only me that have the problem, but I would like to know if ALL boards are like this or only some...

It could simply be that the board is not engineered properly, or they are using capacitors that have a ton of leakage.
The board could simply be substandard.

I tested with CPU-Z, WCPUID and a realtime clock of WCPUID. You're lucky you have a 3,6E - 18x250=4500MHz before you run into problems... I allready do at 3500Mhz and there is more in this CPU!... of course you will loose some performance because you can't take advantage of the CPU Lock Free feature and gain high fsb...

You are conneting a VR between pins #17 and #18 for this mod.
I marked the specific pins in one pic and pointed out a place you can solder.
As far as the lower place in the pic on post #1, I dont know if that resistor end is connected to pin #17 or #18, so thats why I pointed out the ends of the capacitor.
If you are worried about soldering there due to the fact that you can accidently solder a few of the pins on the ADP3180 together, do a connectivity test between pin #17 and the surrounding resistors/capacitors/solder pads until get a hit. Then do the same for pin #18.

Did'nt your clock frequency drop while running that SuperPi? CPU-Z measures fine when the CPU idles... when it loads the frequency will drop. Can you confirm it measures 261Mhz FSB while loaded 50/100%

that is the Vdimm=Vio mod (Vdimm = 3.3v rail off the power supply).
You dont use a resistor (typically) on this mod, and the ram is receiving the same voltage as the power supply has on its 3.3v rail.
With a Resistor from 1k Ohm, and you adjust to 0.9k Ohms, the Voltage is 2.97V. Is that correct?
I dont know the internal resistance for the Vio, so I dont know the effect of adding an additional 1K resistor will have on the output voltage to the dimms.
I am not sure that a standard resistor will hold here either. The current may be to high.
What are you offering for the variable Vdimm mod?
Can older p4p800 mod be used?

OK, although there is no LM358 on P5P800, there is no other way that I can find for Variable vdimm mod.
First I made the vdrop,
and then the 3.3 rail for the vdimm.

It's fine, now I get more stable oc clocks for cpu, and 225 fsb 1:1 dual 2-2-2-5 timings for my TCCD rams at 3.6V. :D
meke, is the vdrop mod same as the droop mod? can u mark the spots where to solder please? i cant see the resistors where you soldered them to very wall. help would be very much appreciated!
Yes, Vdrop is same as Droop (Vdroop).

These are nice pictures and some good info, but are there more comprehensive instructions... Like Parts list in particular... I see a lot of refereces to 50k trimmers, but will any do? Whats the recomended amountof turns on the adjustment? Wattage rating?

The Vdroop mod needs approx 28K Ohms to function correctly, You will use a Multimeter to pre-set the Variable resistor (trimmer)....then solder in place as shown.

Hrmm...it shouldnt damage your agp card, it may heat it up a bit more, as it DOES increase the voltage to the AGP slot, it also raises the NB voltage a bit which is why it can help stability ;)Quote:
