Really Radical..:slobber:
Also noticed it's an another EO Stepping!
Veeerry Interesting!:hehe:
WoW, 5.1Ghz@1.12V :slobber: , what ll it do at 1.6V?, 6Ghz or 7Ghz :D
my god amazing.. where the heck did he get that cpu?
Fake... it's not possible with this vcore and aircooling, if you ask me
The numbers in the left corner of CPUZ are covered too
Oh man, that looks like the ES E0 mobile I passed up a little while ago. Well, at least another overclocker got it.
Did you get it in the past week, or have you had it for a while?
that screen has BS written all over it.
What do the numbers in the bottom left of the CPU-Z screenie tell you? Anything? How do you decypher them?
There was a tool called cpuz frequency id checker but i dont see it for download after a long google search.
Although, if it is fake, it has been very well edited.
it may not be a fake, if anyone remembers AJM from Hardocp was selling 3.06 ES chips a few months ago and he had said he got 4.6 ghz on air.
but none of the benchmarks were all that impressive.
he later realized that he was locked to a 14 multiplier, not 21 like windows was showing.
using a mobile CPU in the desktop means you have no control over the multiplier, and it changes whenever it wants.
he was honest about the 4.6 ghz glitch, this guy seems to be trying to pass it off as real.
After Looking at His Post, I was wondering WTH I'm doing wrong with my 3.4E EO ES on a CASCADE only getting 5162MHz!:bsod:
Well can the M AXP 2600+ reach over 3Ghz on air with over 2v on the core...
Not normal air. Maybe in the dead of winter when it's -15f outside. ;)
im sure somewhere a guy in a snow suit has hit 3ghz on air with mobile axp :)
i think this is a bug, just like that 4.6ghz (while installing windows) one was, a few months back ;)
Not sure what the issue is, but I would agree on the general consensus that this is either intentional fake or bugged... Or possibly someone trying to pass a supercooled chip as air cooled for attention...
Definitely either a bug or a fake...would the system even boot at those AGP/PCI frequencies? Seems to me that any hard drive would freak out at 49MHz.
It's edited.
Look at the spacing of the 9 and the 8. Also if you carefuly study it, you can see the 9 is sluggish kind of. It's fake.
To me its wierd that it says they have IC7, but SetFSB is P4C800, no?
26 x 133 = 3.46 ghz prescott??
(figured cause 26x197=5.122 ghz)
do those even exist?
Look at the processor model number 552
http://www.anandtech.com/cpuchipsets...oc.aspx?i=2012
halfway down the first image.
jesus, imagine playing with that 558...
27 multiplier.
I still do not know if it is true
man...that seems sweet though, but im betting if it was real, he must of done it with really cool air
I think it's in air + ln2
Alright Guys!
I Sent an Email to this Website as follows:
Quote:
Gentlemen: Could you Please give me more Information on Whether or Not This Is A TRUE High Score on Air Or Just A FAKE!
I , And my Members at Xtremesystems.org have a HARD Time Believing That This Score is Accurate.
Thank You For your Reply In Advance.
Sincerely,
hallowen@attbi.com

Thank you for your e-mail.
5129.2MHz is wonderful Score!
Of course,it is true.
I think.E0-Stepping is good.
He live inTaiwan, and he got E0-Stepping Mobile P4 3.46GHz Engineering sample.
I want to get E0-Stepping P4 ,too.
Sincerely,
tanuki

For me is possible the score...but not only with air cooling!
With ln2 yessss........
It's a fantastic score...no only wonderful...
But the name of the clocker??
mizuhiro
458MHz RAM FREQUENCY!:slobber: :slobber: :slobber: :slobber:
Here is an Email I Just Received from EC Chen who did the 5128MHz High OC on Air:
Quote:
Dear Sir:
This is my original capture_screen of Mobile P4 3.46G overclock upto 5129MHz for your reference. (attached)
The environments is IC7 M/B with Bios Ver 25. The Mobile P4 still cannot booted smoothly with this board. It only bootup smoothly every ones after clear CMOS. After power off I have to clear CMOS once again to let it bootup. I cannot change/save anything in the BIOS cs it will hangup. So the only OC method is using SetFSB(SetFSB for P4c800 also for IC7).
The Vcore reading in the BIOS is 1.150V. while CPU_Z is 1.120V.
Room tempture was around 30C.
Mobile P4(Prescott core) has double L1 latency time(8cycles/u16KB) of Normal P4 Prescott(4cycles/u16KB). So it can Overclock higher, even by normal air cooling.
Do not expect it too much because the performance(@5128)almost like a normal P4_prescott3.4G.
I have tried to go higherFSB by changing CPU/Memeory ratio to 1:1, but BIOS can not saved. I think the CPU still have head room.
If you have any Q please don't hestate to ask me.
EC

AJM had this same problem.
he "thought" he installed windows at 4.6 ghz, but kept doing tons of benchmarks to prove it, and they were only doing like 8,000 mips and bandwidth of like 4,000
among other things.
I forget how they concluded this, but the guys had a 10 page long post about what happens when you put mobile CPUs in P4 motherboards.
you have no control over the multiplier, so it defaults to it's lowest available multiplier, but windows reads the highest multiplier.
Guys these ppl are full of it !
Mobile Prescott are not properly detected by most apps and BIOS
My ES Mobile 3.06 533Mhz with HT only gets it's proper clock detected with Clockgen.
Here's screenie to prove it;

Dont fall for these fool's hoax, these CPU are faster than their desktop counterparts but not THAT fast.
THANK YOU :D
Thanks from Me Also!Quote:

so how high can they REALLY go?
Lol,your all welcome.
ROFL IMAO I just see ppl rushing to the comp stores to buy Mobiles by the crate full.
BTW:I'm at 245FSB 1/1 multi x14 locked :(
It scores the same 3dmark and SuperPi times as my 3.0SL6WU@3.85GHZ !
yep, thats what I been saying...Quote:

I almost bought a 3.06 ES too till I saw that hardocp guys all getting locked with the 14 multiplier.
woah woah... at 3.43ghz... its scoring the same as a p4c at 3.85ghz? :eek:Quote:

with my P4C at 3.8GHz it was doing 35 seconds in superpi.
Yep :D ,mobile cores are more efficient since they usually come from the centre of the wafer where the better yeilds are.Quote:

Clock for clock mobile chips will beat a desktop one on average.
If someone could make a 100million trasistor CPU with every single gate that works it could be run at 100Mhz of total ownage, every single destop processor would be left in the dust.
That's the theory at least...
100mhz? :P
but still... making up for a 400mhz+ defficit? if its the same core, that seems a bit much
EDIT: oh wait nvm, its doing 38seconds at 3.4ghz, whereas his 3.85 was doing 35seconds...
ok, it's a bug
too bad
I get 33s at 3780MHz with a 3.0E
Mine in sig do 35s as well.Quote:

so......... he claims it performs bad because the latencies are doubled making it easier to clock, but in reality the desktop mobo with mobile cpu combo is making his multi read wrong
someone email him to get clockgen and see what it says
ROLF ...either he knows and he's faking it, or he's pure dumb blaming latencys.
someone confront him :D
oh yeah, i remember this was brought up some time ago, someone should def tell them
