 what nice fsb there m8 :D
Sorry for all the pics... :D
hehe :hehe:
really awesome how you keep pushing the old platform.. g8 job dude :)
Hahaha... thanks, pal, I do what I can :)
/edit.
Old platform, but still not fully understood... often weird acting and really freaking ;)
Very nice results SAE. Looks like it still runs strong for an "old" platform:p:
what do your temps look like at that speed with that mach 2?
Hmm... ? Erm, Evap or cpu? cpu temps aren't accurate... loaded temps are around 20°C after a while. (insocket sensor)Quote:

Evap around -50°C :)
Yeah, and it's a not strongly tweaked win xp ;)Quote:

try a win2k3 platform for PI runs... It seemed to be improving my results.. maybe you´ll even catch up with the very old 31sec barton record that has been around for ages :)
Taking off your background might improve performance a little bit. (It does in 3dmark, probably not in superpi though)
Yeah, but what version I should try... standard, web, ...?Quote:

I already tried to install the standard edition and was experiencing bad DirectX/CAT probs :( (yesterday). Then something hosed up the win2k3... it just rebooted on boot up. I'll maybe try again tomorrow.
/edit.
Does it also improve pifast scores??? :D
curious about cpu temps... just trying to get a feel for how cold I need to get my mobile to break 3ghz :D ;)Quote:

@shmaa
Hehe, depends on the mobile ;) (mine ain't that good either...)
Microsoft has a 6 month demo floating around.. win2k3 server enterprise edition.. free for download here : https://microsoft.order-5.com/windowsserver2003evaldl/
If you stick to directx 9 and the newest catalyst I think allez muss ordnung sein :D
edit.. yes it does.. although I think win2k is the fastest at Pifast :)
wow, whats up with all those washed out pics everybody is posting?
sae, dont tell me thats 1:1 2-2-2 or imma go to bed and cry myself to sleep :(
:D
Hmm. I really don't want you to go to bed, but that's with everything maxed... :DQuote:

11-2-2-2-2.0-9-12-e-e-f-e (CPC on)-2-3-5-3-3-3-3...
would you recommend that bios? still beta 5-05 no?
Hehe. Okay, alrighty then :DQuote:

I have this versions on a multi-install cd asking me which one I want... enterprise, standard, web and a fourth variant.
I will do pifast with 2k then... as I used to (before I killed my last install LOL). Currently installing win2kp.
Thx pal.
I am on 2-17 alpha... the 5-5 beta 21T6 does not work very well currently :(Quote:

looking good SAE crazy skills u got there
Good sh|t SAE!
I'm sure with a bit more fine tuning you can break that record :D
LOL
No skills but luck ;) Hmm, fine tuning can be done timing-wise... I know. Currently I am testing for max stable speeds :)
I am gunna install 2k3 tomorrow, maybe... I wanna know for sure if there's an improvement in superpi benching :D
You should connect to the web on that machine and enter in the OCZ Memory Bandwidth competition... I think the prize is some nice PC4400 memory. Do it on a monthly basis and start making a profit...
A business card saying "Professional Overclocker" would be humorous! LOL
I eagerly await the benches btw i thought 265 was the max fsb for DFI boards w/o a big arse a/c unit blowing in your case what pushed ya over that
hehe... sounds nice :D . But I am not really willing to connect internet to it (I had to disconnect it from my inet rig, no router here)... and I dunno if the networking connection would stay alive after some heavy benches at bus clocks like these (I know sometimes my SB audigy LS fails)
Yeah, me too :DQuote:

But everything higher than 268 results in an immediate lockup when doing benches :( (I think APIC is maxed, and I don't turn it off)
My room was at 24°C :) No AC units around... hehe.
hey SAE, go download CodeRed's program timer app thingy to see ur exact time in superPi, u cant find the newest version on the last page of the superpi thread
dayum how did you get that dfi stable with vcore mod???
When I was testing my Infinity for its max stable fsb, I finally had to settle for 240, but 267-268 fsb was the setting where windows immediately crashed regardless of memory timings, vcore, vdd or anything else I could think of. Of course, I didn't boot with that fsb but went for it with nf7vcore.Quote:

I think, it's a corellation here.
if only this nforce2 board could run 300MHz FSB 1:1
should match A64 i assume.. :)
nice clock sae.. keep pushin.. :)
Thx :)
Erm, DisposableHero... I did all the OCP/vdroop mods and have sinked all the important hotspots with copper sinks :D
would you recommend that bios for everyday use to me?Quote:

very sweet stuff there! looks like you had good luck indeed and have a bunch of vanilla hardware.
I would not recommend that bios at all :(Quote:

It has the bad habit of loosing bios settings when saving too much OC related stuff at once. So I often have to try to load my CMOS reloaded settings twice or three times... till it works (otherwise it just clears cmos).
vdroop, OCP etc... :)

Check out the useful information there. Nice pics there, too :)
P.S. I just overheard that vanilla hw thingy ;) (CPU ain't that good, IMO it only does 2.6 on water)
any newz on the PI situation?
No, not yet... :( Did not install 2k3... will do later. I installed 2k1 and hope to get a clue what's sometimes causing instability... and what settings corrupt fat32 drives ;)Quote:

Sae,
truly awesome work!
I'm really stunned that you can get such a high vcore. I tried the vcore and vdroop mod you explained to me in the FAQ thread but still everything above 2V is an instant crash.
Did you L12 mod your cpu?
Yep. L12 done. Otherwise there won't be high multipliers at these high fsbs...Quote:

I can do over 2.2V but I cannot really use it, either the cpu does not like it or the board itself. :(
That explains a lot. I can do 265 FSb with 8x multi but not with 10x or higher. I did not do the L12 mod though.
Will try it at once!
Hehe, good luck :D
Do some 3d benchin.... Break the record...
hmm yeah ive gotta do this mod too soon, i can do 260 at like 9 multiplier, although the chip can go to 2680mhz, but with 260fsb i can only do 2340mhz.Quote:

2.6 on water is bad? :( then my mobile sux :D
what L12 mod did you do? link? :D hehehe
thx man :)
why dont you try it with apic disabled?
Cool-literally. I need to get my board working half as well as yours. My chip will do 2.8 on air, but it is not stable with the cooling I have. I run all the time around 2.5-2.6(220+x11.5) with 1.75 volts.(prime stable) My max fsb is 240. That is not very stable either. I think I would not really see a very big differnce from where I am now and 2.7 all the time on air. I get around 11000 mips in sisoft arithmetic at 230x11.5. I suppose my x800xt will make the biggest differnce whrn it comes to gaming. Let me know if you have any specail tricks for the nf7-s.
Ordinary L12 :DQuote:

APIC disabled is against my principles ;) And does not really gain anything (go ask LastViking)... the board's limits are around 268 under normal ambient circumstances. Maybe one can get a screenshot at 275, but no benches.
/edit.
@zxlr8
You will get it... but NF7 can be very     :banana:y as well ;)
What does that mean...pardon my naiveness... y?
Damn, I thought my 35 second superpi was good. I'm only on water.
That OCP mod is definitely good. I did manage to superpi with a 2.1Vcore (bios reading) though:
http://premium.uploadit.org/cpl1234/35sec-superpi.JPG
The problem is hardlock in approximately 1 hour of SETI....
2.075V (bios reading) is 100% stable :toast:
Yeah, that happens automatically when using a "bad/offensive" word ;) (it's been "b1tchy")Quote:

@cpl1234
That's definately nice :)
And of course you got the OCP mod working :D Good job.
did you mod it to 166fsb or 200fsb?
i thougt the dfi boards dont need the mod at all?
SAE, those are some crazy clocks - a thing of art with all that has to be done on this platform to achieve that. Reading this makes me want to jump back to NF2 for kicks and see what a DFI would do. I went through about 4-5 NF7-S's and they all worked like crap with my memory.
It's determined by the bios (thx OSKAR :D) every way of modding it defaults to 200MHz. So just the ordinary 166MHz NF7 mod.Quote:

Who said the DFI don't need it!? It's been clear for quite some time there's improvements in usability with higher multipliers :)
Hehe. Yeah. Fact is, the DFIs don't perform like that everyday at same settings - nothing changed! Yep. So stay with what you have, is my advice, cause this way you'll stay calm, nice and enthusiastic... :D (with DFI it could happen you'd get a nervous, unhappy, swearing pc user LOL)Quote:

166MHz romsip should be tighter in original bios releases, but those fellow modders out there did us many favours :DQuote:

This is like going back in time really. :p:
I had L12 mods in place since August last year, being a Tbred owner. :D
so you did this mod?
Only the 166MHz one :D
congrats again m8!
ur ram is absolutely outstanding!
SAE...SAE...SAE...pushing the limits ever higher and higher...:toast:
Hehe, thanks to both of ya :)
But as you know nothing's stable today ;)
No clue what bios to test now...
http://upl.silentwhisper.net/uplfold...bile10x280.jpg
This is without L12 modd. But maybe L12 is good.. iwill test it when i have a new xp-m2600

do any of u know where is this alpha setting... located in wpcredit?
is it possible to change it in windows if any of u have try it?
Lastviking, ever tried to run 3dmark2k1 at those settings?

Bus#0 Dev#0 Func#1 second colomn - offsets 94 to 97 :D
No chance to get it done... NF2 mem controller is not stable anymore at these kindsa clocks.Quote:

I just completed a 3dmark at 11.5x266.95MHz. I just booted as usual at 254x11.5 and upped the clocks :)
And now it worked. Did not clock the card though - only 480-380 (my gaming settings, artifact free).
24088 :D
My latest pifast results are like 45.80seconds. Screenies later :)
Any chance of beating your current score if the card was clocked to your maximum levels?Quote:

But under 2k I am around 45.8s
@mrlobber
There's the chance, but I am not fully convinced. Dunno if the card/board are stable enough for that torture.

Tightest on DFI boards are 0-0-3-3-0-0-3 IMO, and that's using 1-31 ROMSIP...
SAE from that screen shot
is it from left to right = top to bottom of DFI bios
or from right to left = top to botton DFI bios
i'm quite confused now.... :(

little off topic but...
SAE, how did you get CPUZ to detect your chip as a mobile AMD athlon? The frist screen shot in this thread has it as the usual unknown cpu type, but your recent ones have it detecting.
The bios has to recognize it ;)Quote:

On a side note, I found out how system limited 3d01 is! Even with the card in sig, only nature showed any meaningful improvement!
No way for challenging for top spot with this platform on warm water, lol.

Yeah, the new one is an RPMW 0352 2600+ :D
I just got me a 2600+M IQYHA 0352 RPMW from the egg :slobber:
DFI has my infinity thanks to a crooked socket, right now.. cant wait to get her back....
Been seeing nothing but excellent results with this chip! :toast:
Oh, and that 3.1ghz on 1.96Vcore...
That is VERY NICE! :slobber:
Does the extreme temps help the OC at such a low voltage? Cuz my SLK is jsut aching now that I saw that one. I figured it was over 2.15Vcore!
Hehe, the chip can do 3.13G stable with 2V set in bios :D (261Fsb)
I gotta get me a mach II :slobber:Quote:

Nice FSB there, 268 is nasty.
Not an original idea at all: get a GF6800 or Radeon X800...Quote:
