Hey Gang,
Remember When I Built My First Single Stage Phase Change?
Well, I Kinda Went Overboard on My Next...........
Cascade CPU/Single OR Cascade Gpu, Still In Progress.
Whata Ya'll Think?:D
Another Shot..
I Have the CPU Cascade Running and I am Working On the GPU Single/Cascade.;)
That's go to be one of the best looking - homemade cascades I've seen. Very professional.
It must have come out of the "Cascade Factory"
Can't wait to see the next Chapter.:owned:
very nice man... thats the cleanest cascade system i have seen :toast:
Looks very nice, Do you have pictures of you making it?
A few Questions.
Where did you get the cart?
Did you burn the rug in the living room?:D
Is there gonna be room for a GPU cascade there?
And now the good news... INCOMING>>>>> ETA Thur noon to FRI noon....
Check out the link in my post ^^^^^ It's two post up. Cascade Factory.Quote:

What is cascade factory?
I've Outlined It Since Day One Step By Step In the Team Puss Forums under "Cascade Factory".Quote:

Chiily1
Thanks for the Update!:D
Here's a pic of the shelving I used.......
You can Buy it at Wal-Mart.;)
http://www.walmart.com/catalog/produ...A90828%3A90829
BTW: I Didn't Burn Holes in the Rug 'cause I use a Drop Cloth Barrier when Brazing!:p:
And, If You Look Closely on the Left of the Second and Top Shelf of the Third Post Pic, You'll see the Layout for the GPU Cascade(Two additional Compressors!):D
Cool saw that..
Howed you put wheels on it?
Cant wait to see the GPU cascade. When you going to get started on it?
afireinside
I had some caster wheels I bought from Home Depot which I Brazed onto the Shelving Framework Along with Brazing the SHELVES THEMSELVES;) to Support the Weight!
model 9477mw for $3.39 Each/(Internet/cataloge#795590),2" Caster Wheels.
As Far as the GPU Cascade goes, I Have the First Stage Done(Since I Just used my single Stage Phase Change that I had Built Originally) as Shown in my First Post in this Thread.
I have to Build/Purchase the Same Items as in my CPU Cascade(HX,Receiver, accumulator,Expansion tank) except for the Evap assy(Baker Block/Hose/Enclosure) which I had bought from xtwerks.com Previously, and a 1/5 HP Compressor that i will try to use for the Second Stage.:D
haloween if you use the gpu you currently have and cut the condenser off and replace it with an oil seperator and a HX your second will be done then add afirst stage compressor.
Well, Chilly1
The First Stage I Have is All Dismantled(Not Together anymore like in the First Pic in this Thread!), so I May as Well Start over with the 1/2 HP as My First Stage and Build A Second Stage Using a 1/5 HP Comp, Don't You Think?:)
that is so nice hallowen!!!, wat temps are u getting?
Clean looking system m8 :)
ATM, I'm Using R404A in Both Stages, But I will be switching over to R507 on the First stage, and after I remove My Cap tube Evap and Install My Chilly1 PEV Evap on the Second Stage, I'll be using R1150(Ethylene) In It!:slobber:
Right Now, I am Getting These Temps With the R404A In Both Stages.......................(Large Reading is Second Stage Evap, Small Reading is First Stage HX)
ah, nice temps...the R1150 will really lower ur temps, good luck with it...btw, how are u getting it?
I bought a Harris HP721 Regulator(0-500psi) with a CGA-350 Connection(Made for Ethylene Bottles)@$210, and a 22lb bottle of Ethylene@$108, from Weld Direct Corporation.
Next
And
I MUST Caution ANYONE Who is Considering Using This Type Of Extremely Flammable Gas To READ Lardarse's STICKY in this Forum On The DANGERS OF R1150(ETHYLENE).
You MUST Have Knowledge of Single Stage Phase Change and Cascade Systems Before You EVER Attempt To Use This Type Of Gas As A REFRIGERANT!
You May Flame Me For Telling You This , But I'm Just Trying To Keep Someone From Getting Injured Or Worse!
:explode:
I would PERSONALY Take The Advice Of Gary Lloyd,Chilly1, and runmc of the TEAM PUSS Forums on this Subject!
looks awesome man, its in order too unlike some other cascades weve seen that were just aprawled out all over a cart
i like the light switches :D
very nice and good luck
Thanks Guys,
It's Easier for Me to work on When I Arrange Everything so that I can see what's Going On, Also Troubleshooting/Changing the System Doesn't Take Forever to Complete! ;)

The attached is where your link leads....
I think there is an issue with the websites coding I know there was problems with the site that are being worked on...
I really dont even know what a cascade is (id love to learn but I dont think i have the science or math skills) but that sure does look beautiful...nice work.
_Siph
I Have started to Insulate my chilly1 Spiral CPU Evap and Baker Block GPU Evap.
I Modified a Vapochill Hold-Down for the Cpu, and used a Modified Danger Den V.C. Water Block Top For a Gpu Hold Down for my 9800XT (A 9700Pro Is Being Shown for a "Mock-Up" until I Transfer It!
I will Fully Insulate Everything on Both when I Attach Them to the Cascade.
A Few Pics:
next
also
and
finally
Insulation on your hoses is much to thin... Make it ~2cm thick (3/4 - 1")
it is very thin...have u tried the evap by self?...it seems awsome
As I Previously have Stated...:DQuote:
I will Fully Insulate Everything on Both when I Attach Them to the Cascade.
I Just wanted to show you the Details before I Cover Everything Up..................
I Still have to install the CPU Evap/PEV and Pressure Test It BEFORE I Complete The Rest Of The Insulation.;)
oh...hmmm..ur evaporator...looked like it already had some insulation wraped on it..wat is it?
Just have Some Foam Insulation Tape Around the GPU Baker Block Evap, and Some 1/2" Pipe Insulation Over The chilly1 Evap Hose ATM.
I'll be adding at LEAST another 1/2" on Everything(more than Likely 1" More!) when Installed and Finished.
man...ur evaps...look so neat..awsome!
Here's some Pic's of the PEV Installed and The Whole Second Stage is being Pressure Tested @250psi Nitrogen.:)
And

nice !
ah..wow, congrats!
Congrats.....
I'm Going to Put My 3.2E ES under the Cascade and Run Some Benches as Soon as I Finish the Hold-Down For the MoBo and see what It does Under Load.:D
NEXT PROJECT!
Attach A THIRD Stage and Shoot For -150C!........ :slobber:
Right, Chilly1?
:toast:
We are in the process of figuring out how to achieve -150...
Cool!(No Pun Intended!)
I Have Begun Plans for the Layout of the Third, and POSSIBLY Fourth Stage, of This Cascade.
I Know It will Involve Much More Higher Pressure Gases, Hopefully some of which are Non-Flammable, But after Using R1150, I Think I Can Handle It!:D
R740 and R50 will be nessassary and a larger first and second. The third needs to be an autocascade.
Chilly1
How much Larger are the Stages you are Talking About?
Do You Mean HP of the Comps, or Overall Size?
I KNOW It will be difficult(For Me!) to Construct an AutoCascade,
But I'm Game!:D
So, We'll be using a Blend of R740(Argon) and R50(Methane) in the AutoCascade?:slobber:
Nice, I'm heading to Wallmart and getting one of those stands:D
OPP
OPP
I had to Order The Shelving Online 'cause it wasn't available at the WalMart Store;)
Your right:DQuote:

Guys,
If Ya'll want to see from "Day One" the Construction of My Cascade, Please Feel Free To Visit TeamPuss and Check it Out,'cause There's Too Much Info to Go over and Show You Here Again!:D
http://www.teampuss.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=71
I still cant get to the TeamPuss forums even tough I have registered and can singn up in the main page but the forums are still a no go:(
Almost Ready To Test Under Load..............

Man, it is awesome.
nows thats what you call a computer desk
congradulations for the big 3 digit coolness
once i joined your link worked fine
http://www.teampuss.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=71
yes the link worked fine all along. It was actually my bad that I couldn't get in to the forums...Thanks Runmc for your help:)
thats real nice
how long did it take you to assemble that?
Iridium192_217
It Took Me About 2 Months Reading/Forum Inquires/Building to Get To Where the Cascade Is ATM!:D
First Time Under Load!!

Temp At:
Now super pi please :D
nice oc, now just need to fine tune to hold a better temp under load
;)
Looks like you need to run the pressure a little higher on the pev, what setting did you use?
Chilly1
Low Side at 16psi / High Side at 235psi
Still adjusting, but seems to hold around -84/-85C:)
Awesome overclock and cascade :slobber:
Look at the voltage, maybe you could get more out of it
Lowest Temps ATM Under Load.
DEFINETLY Have a Problem with my ASUS Temperature Readout!
I Only WISH it was that Low!
http://hallowen.freehosting.net/hq19ul.jpg
Initial Static Charge of R1150 was 150psi, Needs More, Going to Increase it to 200psi tommorow after temps return to Ambient.;)
Also need to Swap out Fortron 530 PSU with my PCP&C Turbo Cool 475 for Better 3.3/5/12 Volt Lines, Which SHOULD Allow More of an OC.:D
truely amazing work

AAAHHH The Idea he spoke of :)
You probably need to set it at 6 to 10 psi sooner after start up get it running at load then as load increases increase pressure.. It also maybe a little out of adjustment on the first stage what are your interstage temps?Quote:

Temps are @-36/-38C (varying), although the Colder the Second stage gets, so does the First(-39 to -40C).
Was Thinking of going to R507 on First Stage for a Little Improvement.;)
Superheat on First stage is @14F
Subcooling is @6F
Condenser Temp Diff is @4-5F
R507 would help a little. What is the superheat at the exit of the evaporator on the first stage? Subcooling at the exit of the First stage condenser? Let's tune the first stage for -45 to -50C, What is the COP of the charge in the TXV? What is the suctionline temperature of the second stage 3 inches away from the compressor? Do you have an oil cooler? What is the discharge temperature of that? What is the temperature of the liquid line at the inlet to the pev?
Nice work, very clean build.
Give that prescott more volts and you can probably catch me on 5.2Ghz screen shot.
I also have a 4.9Ghz pi @ 29 seconds
FUGGER,
How Much Vcore Do You Run With Yours?
I Just Got finished with 3.3/5/12 Volt Line Mods on My Fortron 530.
I have Adjusted them to 3.8/6/12.8 to Start with, they were only 3.2/5.45/11.7 before. That should help me get CLOSER to your 5.2 Screenie! :D
OK, I'll Pump up the Volume(Volts) Tommorow and See What'll Happen!:p:
oooh good luck hallowen
Ladies and Gentlemen:
It is with GREAT SORROW:( :( :( :( , That I Must Tell You While I was Trying To Catch Up To FUGGER's 5.2Gig Screen Shot by Upping the Vcore to 1.7 Volts, My 3.2E ES Has FAILED!
And Yes, I have tried it in another MoBo with the Same Results!
I was in the Proccess of going Past 5.3Gigs, When My System Just Shut Down and Would NOT Re-Start!
Such is The Life Of an OverClocker....................................... ......
If it was Easy, There would Be No Challenge, So Now I Move on by Substituting my ES for my 3.0C SL6WK and Trying again!
I WILL NOT QUIT because of This Setback!
I'LL BE BACK!............................................. .................................................. .....................
http://hallowen.freehosting.net/arnold.jpg
:( Was condensation a possibility or did the volts kill it?
S.P.D.S.(Sudden Prescott Death Syndrome)!
I Found NO Evidence of Condensation when I Disassembled the Evap and MoBo.:(
That sucks:(
ouch...better luck next time
I'M BACK!.............................
And I Ain't Too D** Happy!:(
About 650 MHz LESS With My 3.0C, But That's the Way The Cookie Crumbles(So to Speak).
Movin' on to the Third Stage for the Cascade.................:)
http://hallowen.freehosting.net/3.jpg
ALLLLLLLLLLRIGHTY THEN!
I have Remedied the Deplorable Situation I was in by Getting the H*** away from INTEL, and Purchasing My NEW System!
:banana:An AMD FX-53(939) and a ASUS A8V Deluxe MoBo!
I'M BACK WITH A VENGEANCE!:rocker:
:-D ya man let's see some real action now!
I like your attitude :D :banana:Quote:

This is gonna be huge. Good luck mate!
3 stage cascade and the new AMD FX-53(939) and a ASUS A8V Deluxe MoBo! would give some really really nice oc scores maybe even close to the top GL
I'm Makin' Myself Drool :slobber: Thinkin' About It!:hehe:
hey bro,
When do ya get the goods?? That will be sweet!!
Dang, I think Texas is the last place on the planet to get cards. I can't even find an x800pro.:(
I guess I'm gonna have to get this new 9800xt out of the box so I'll at least have something to bench with.;)
runmc,
I Bought the MoBo/CPU at Monarch Computer Systems(Was the Only Place that Had Both!)
Yeah Man, After Layin' out the Green for My AMD Setup, My 9800XT Will Have To Do, But It'll be Close Enough to an X800Pro. :D
Can't Wait to see Your "Twin Double Pumpers" in Action!
