You are a funny man. 2750 is GREAT on air. Even for these chips. I get about 100mhz less than that, although I haven't really had a chance to test it thoroughly. The fact that you have 2750mhz on a DFI board on air cooling is insane.
So there is no way to get a higher score?
I booted at 2880 (12X240) but it keeps rebooting. This is with a vcore of 2 volt.
Anyone else can help me?
Lower FSB and higher CPU clock may be faster if you can run tighter ram timings.
I think the only way to get a big gain will be better cooling and more vcore to get a higher CPU speed.
But as Lithan says thats an awesome clock on air cooling, I dont think you can do much better with the kit you have.
Nice OC!!! :toast: Is that the MPMW flavor? If so, it's the same chip I used for 2.7GHz. Sadly, it died in a terrible mishap. :( http://service.futuremark.com/compare?2k3=2447338Quote:

Yeah my good chips an mpmw about 365 batch number iirc. My two weak chips (2600ish max on air) are both 800-900 batch number and xpmws. It's funny. People are usually thrilled when they get 2700mhz on air. Noone wants ones that max at 2500-2600 anymore. Doh!
No, my cpu:
IQYHA 0351XPMW
AXMG2600FQQ4C
Why is your cpu dead?
What are the last 4 digits on the top line Burner?
My cpu is IQYHA 0351 (nice week I guess) MPMW
0302 batch #
Welp, everything was running great, until I decided to give the micro guru utility a try. I still don't understand how, but it killed the mobo and chip. I tried 'em both with other hardware, so I'm sure of it. Lucky for me, they were both approved for RMAs, and I bought them at eXcaliber, so I'll get the same stepping back. :D I just don't know how many MPMWs are 2.7GHz chips, tho. :rolleyes:Quote:

Heck, I want 2800 now. ;) We're never satisfied, are we? :DQuote:

My IQYHA 0351 MPMW does 2.6ghz at 1.75v, 2.7ghz at 1.85v, and 2.8ghz at 1.95v , all on Air using SLK900A.
Sweet. Yep those mobile chips are great. :toast: BTW, I was using the Zalman 7000 coppery flowery dealy-bob, with a 120mm "booster" fan pointed at it. ;)Quote:

My max CPU speed is 2880 on air but its not stable.
Imagine we had vapor? I'm assuming 3.3ghz is possible at extreme low temps. I think that would whoop FX's a$$. ahaQuote:

im getting my 2600+ today, ill post up scores =)
Dang, maybe with some more burn-in, and improved cooling, you might get 3GHz.??? That would totally rock, for air-cooled. :D  :D Have you experimented with fan mounting, like sucking the heat away from the chip, instead of blowing air onto it? Just a thought. :)Quote:

I try it :p:
I think that the mosfets are getting hot because of the fan blows hot air in to it.
Maybe whit the fan in reverse this problem is solved.
Does anyone knows what the affect is?

What mobo and mem are you using?
TheBurner2600
Try putting heatsink of MOSFETS of the DFI.
wow my 2600 does 2500mhz @ 1.65v... yet i cant get a screenshot over 2700mhz without coldair+water. wth? you guys are all at 2750 with air! STABLE! GRRRR
Whats your stepping on the cpu???Quote:

That's the Abit AN7, excellent board, and 2x256 of OCZ PC3500 Basic. Since I sent that board back to Abit, I recently bought 2x512's of Mushkin PC3500 Level II. Don't have the RAM yet, but the seller has great Heat, and is a forum member here, so I'm sure it's cool. I can't wait to give it another shot. :DQuote:

I wonder if the 35w mobile 2400+ can beat these mobile 2600+.
I just got a 2600 from excaliber. IQYHA 0351 MPMW. It's prime stable at 2800 MHz.
LOL, clockspeed wouldn't be able to make up for the Barton's neanderthal architecture....my guess would be that it'd take like 4.5gHz pf Barton power to compare to 2.2gHz FX....maybe more :DQuote:

OMG, guys watch it, we have a person suffering from GeforceTI4200 syndrome :DQuote:

Barton w00t! Us barton users are the "real" overclockers! The rest of you can keep your crappy chipsets and cpu's that can't take the volts!
holly     that stepping realy that awsome? i just got the same steppin but havent had a chance to use it yet. i also have a 0401UPMW 2600 that ran 2700mhz at 1.9v so if this new steppin is as good as you say? then i may have another kick arse 2600 in my hands!!!? man i cant wait to get that thing in my system....Quote:

peace perc,
I was just thinking, these are Christmas chips, week 51. Who'da thunk those guys would be working that week? Either they were all in a great mood, or drunk. :D ;)
My 0251 1700+ was one of the best DUT3C's I ever saw... maybe you're onto something.
Lithan
>>0251 1700+ was one of the best DUT3C's I ever saw
What did it do ??
Noway Charlie. Cmon u serious? it would take 4.5ghz to match the perf. of a 2.2ghz FX??? I hope your kidding man. lolQuote:

I know the FX 53 kills Tbreds, bartons, whatever , it even kills the 3.2 EE with 2mb of cache...but Im sure even a 4ghz barton would eat fx for dinner. Im sure most of the people in here would agree with me...
when you would compare a 4ghz barton with an (DEFAULT!) 2,2ghz fx, yes....the barton would kick the ass of the fx....
but here is somebody, who is called "Tom Holck", you know :D ;)
Did 2533 on air and >2600 under a maze 3. Can't remember it too well though. Sold it when I got a DLT3C that did 2700 on water... then sold that when I got a barton that did 2650 on air.
I'm STILL confident that there are some performance aspects that clockspeed can NOT make up for...
try taking a FX-53 with a 9800xt at about 600/450 running at 2.4gHz and then take a Barton at about 3gHz or so with the same 9800xt and we're talking 5000-6000 point difference in 3DMark 01...and clockspeed couldn't catch it :D
I've had ALL the aforementioned chips...
C
2v on air!! dam thats toasty, nice oc though, really want one of these mobile bartons, hope they're still selling them at the end of the summer cuz i'll pick on eup then if they are.
Well ok then ,3ghz sounds more reasonable but above you said 4.5ghz lolQuote:

what he's saying is he doesnt believe that the 1.5ghz difference would give you the 5000-6000 3dmarks you'd need to catch the fx.
Personally, I can't believe a 2.4 fx and a 3.0 barton are really 6k 3dmarks apart... but I've never seen a fx, so it may be accurate.
omg omg  amen...Quote:

Mine is a 2600+ IQYHA 0351 MPMW too :D
Gotta love phase change, eh? Make a 2700mhz cpu a 3100mhz one.
Hmm. It's luvely, yeah. But I cannot get the ram/cpu to their max' cause the board is limiting me badly...Quote:

Recently tried to drop my fsb to get a nice superpi at 3.2GHz or such... but no go, even at only 210fsb... I tried 3150MHz and no go too...
The board won't do more. Maybe a nice NF7-S would... with the right mods... dunno.
One more hint that the board is maxed is: I can bench with nearly max fsb the ram can do on this board (everybody's max 265 benchable at room temps) and 3.1GHz and nearly prime at that... but I get no more mhz by decreasing fsb... and you all know the mobiles only do these high clocks with relatively low fsb, I don'T remember more than 4 persons going more than 250fsb and over 2.8GHz...
I think my cpu can do more... DFI LP is a bit crappy :(
OMFG SAE that is some sick overclockage ...God dARNN NICEE , I knew this stepping is a one crazy mother fakker.
Anyway , i hope im not asking for too much SEA but is it possible if you can boot at 15x200fsb and run your radeon at default 412core and 365 memory and do a 2001 benchie because i want to see how much it will score at 3ghz and compare that to a Athlon FX51. I want to see if charlie knows what he's talking about, lol . peaceee out
The Virus
Dude charlie was kidding. Obviously a Barton 3 Ghz will beat FX @ 2.2 Ghz. So what?
Oh the new post makes me wonder :stick: SAE could you check?
Yep. I'll do later. :DQuote:

Now I have a WaterChill from Asetek (L30 kit), I post the scores next week beause my DFI is dead.
It's dead because of testing broken hardware. That was pretty stupid.
Next week I got a new DFI mobo.
DOH, that sounds like something I'd do. :p: ;) Maybe the replacement will be better? :) I got my replacement AN7 and it's at least as good as the one that died. Gets 220FSB with 3.05v on the RAM, that's not really burned in good yet. Still waitin' on the replacement MPMW.Quote:

Man, this thread got buried fast. Finally got the replacement chip, identical, except the last 4 #s in the serial code are 0194. Had it in Windows a bit @ 2.8 GHz., but not stable. Benchable @ 2.7GHz. (for now, the AS5 isn't even cured yet. :p: ) http://service.futuremark.com/compare?2k1=7892505 I think I might eventually get 2.8 pretty stable, but it was pretty hot here today. :D
Scores as promised! The thing doesnt wanna get stable past 1.95 right now, need to do some more tweaking. Prime95 stable at 12x217
Think i got a good/bad chip?
AXMG2600FQQ4C Y911462A40329 IQYHA Q351MPMW
12x217MHz @ what Voltage prime-stable ?
1.93, but with the undervolt on my board it 1.905
oh....that's very high.....is that on air ?
if yes, then it would be just "a little" high in contrast to a "normal" XP-M2600+
i know people who are running XP-Ms with 1,750V with your clock....
Air of course :), at 2v it just gets up to 72c and shuts off
I'm right there now, just about, with 1.875vcore, air-cooled. http://service.futuremark.com/compare?2k1=7893688 EDITed in: I'm using a Panaflo 92mm fan on a Swiftech MCX462-V. I'm gonna pull it out and put the 120mm Antec on it, like I had on my old Alpha. Should be much better. Just got the Swiffy yesterday, so I'm still settling in. ;)Quote:

SUPERDUDE, you should be able to do 12x217fsb at only 1.75vcore because that is what im currently doing right now and i have the same chip as your so iam not sure why yours is crapping out like that.
I think its your PSU holding you back because at 2.6ghz and 1.75v sucks about 125w of power and i see you only got a 430w psu so im guessing the rail at which the cpu is using is not enough to support that speed. My PSU is Enermax 550w that has 40amps on every rail so i think psu playes a huge role in max overclockage.
Can you post a pic of your winbond hardware doctor to see how your rails are???
I have the new DFI installed and it's garbage!
Max OC stable is 2300 MHz for now. And all chips like MOSFETS are cooled with heatsinks so that's not the problem.
There is no difference between the Thermalright and Asetek Waterchill, infact it must be better because of the northbrige cooler and the low temps of 35 C stressed.
Help!
Is there anyone who can recommend the Abit AN7?
i cant get this thing to post on 12.5x217 :/ on any voltage from 1.7-1.95. 2 posts, but shuts down cus of heat issues
Get the thermalright slk900A with thermaltake 80mm fan with 78cfm...That should take care of the heat...Quote:
