Just changed my ABIT MAX3 with an ASUS P4C800-E and after making some modifications I put on her a PRESCOTT 3.0 and those are the first results.

Not bud at all....
And Sandra mem..

And Super Pi...

Those are my first results and they are very surprising after all those rumors about PRESCOTT’S. For me it’s a fine CPU with a lot of capabilities but with no benchmarking software support yet.
Radical,Man:slobber:
What temps are you at with your MachII?
Where did you buy it?:toast:
Not bud tems at all. Full load at ASUS probe -32 - -28 and at MACH II -60 - -54, depens of room temps... :)
O yes i baught it from Greece because i live there.
What do you mean by no benchmarking support ?Quote:

:toast: Nice OC !
Just a doubt...you said that you changed your IC7-MAX3 for an P4C800-E and did this OC...you couldn't do it with the MAX3?? the results were better in Asus or Abit??
Stepping on that CPU?
My 3.0E goes to 3.7Ghz on watercooling.. (primestable) 1.43v..

I' m not sure that the benchmarking programs can suport the new PRESCOTT'S instructions like SS3.
No i wasn't able to do it wth MAX3. But after the modifications on ASUS those are the resaults.Quote:

very good:slobber:
Always good to see people pioneering with the Prescott :toast:
i thought IC7's were better for prescotts  ...nice OC tho :)
how high cud u get with ur MAX 3?
It answers my post I did a week ago, I got the same MB and I was asking everyone if Prescott would be a great buy, here's my answer, good OC keep going aristidis
It seems that the Max3 doesn't like Prescott since a lot of people reported the mobo being burning to the touch. Not sure if those people cooled the mosfets though.

Ôhat was the problem not high at all. Up to 290fsb and no more specialy with deviders.
Wow... thats just sickening! I'm guessing you have the Droop + VDimm on the P4C?
Meh don't mind my idiotness tonight SWG turned me into a zombie...
I thought there was a 270FSB wall for the P4C tho? Someone want to clear that up for me? Thanks,
`s
Yes i have done the drop mom on P4C. but also i have put 6 extra mofsets so the vcore power is very stable.
Would you mind explaining that in little more detail?Quote:

You can add 6 more mofsets beqause they are missing in that board, so with the drop mod the vcore power is very sable and strong specialy for the power needs of a PRESCOTT.:)
nice :D
very impressive oc! when i get money i will buy a p4c800..(my ic7-max3 died) run 3dmark01 and 03 please!
What kind of MOSFETs did you use?
Is your stepping SL79A? Mine is SL79L an it dont overclock so good.. 4.35Ghz in R404 Mach II is super pi stable. Max pic stable is 4.5Ghz.
edit: I have done the droop mod, vcore mod, agp mod and vdimm mod.
vcore mod on p4c800e? could you show me a pic.
i can't go past 1,6V in Bios as most other people which becomes 1,65V because of droop mod
here you go..
50k pot from pin 8 to gnd
http://www.home.no/dpa/Ftp/Bilder/asus%20card...JPG
my poor prescott got 1.856v yesterday :D
thank you very much ;)
that IC has TINY legs, so take it easy....
Could you possibly show us a pic of those extra mosfets and where you obtained them?Quote:

 :slobber: :D
yep, show us some pictures of those mosfets.
Unfortunatly i don't have a camera but you can easily find the empty places near the vcore mofsets.Quote:

Yes my stepping is SL79A..:DQuote:

The empty spaces are:
- one in each power phase group (easly identifiable by the coils),
- one between the clock gen. and the AGP slot,
- one next to a fan header between the socket and the backplate,
- one between the PATA connector and the BIOS chip
What I would like to know is what specs. MOSFETs to use.
Are the numbers on this MOSFET in this pic the same as the MOSFET you added to your P4C800?
Are They the ones numbered 9918H?
http://www.a-power.com.tw/products_05.htm
Great work Aristidis, u pushed this one to the max, :)
Got any 3d links to compare ?
it seems like the SL79A is better than the SL79L...
OFCOURSE.. I have SL79L... BLAH..!
I Just checked on MY P4C800, and the Power MOSFET's for the P4 VRM are 60T03H(Three of them).
Are Your's the Same as Mine?
They show up at http://www.a-power.com.tw/ as being the ones for the Vcore, but there are Also Three others marked D0319, that are next to them.
Do you have the numbers off of yours that you used?
I just used the mofsets of a chintech 865 mobo that they are the same...
Did you just solder 3 extra mosfets onto the empty pads on the front of the board, then 3 more on the back?
To me it seems that the two empty MOSFET pads next to the fan connectors are for powering the fans only (the one for the CPU fan is actualy implemented) which would also explain their wierd voltage of 12V.
The one next to the AGP slot seems to be targeted at 3.3V and has probaly something to do with AGP port or MCH.
Yes....:DQuote:

Could you please post the numbers on those mosfets.
Send a pm to Hipro5 ,...he knows
Great job Aristidi
I'm about to have my new P4C800E modded. Hell-Fire is going to help me mod the vdimm and droop mod.
Question for everyone, what other mod should I have done to this board beside those two mod? Please I need to know this before I start shipping out this board to him.
This system will all be on AIR and do you guy think it's necessary for me to have other mod done to the board beside the vdimm & droop mod. Any suggestion will be greatly appreciated.
Well i just need to know if i could use the one's on my broken P4C800 deluxe and since aristidis allready did the mod i was hoping he could answer my question.Quote:

well john i thought aristidis did the mods by looking at his replies...
i would like to know too cos i guess you just need to solder them on top of the "tracks" without the need of any..."drilling"? the board :D
Hahahahah, can't stop loughing brwmogazos....
Yeah, a little credit didn't hurt anybody, afaic....
Nice OC aristidis!!!
You guys never cease to amaze me :D
Of course you can use the mosfets of your broken P4C800, they are the same.:)Quote:

You have to do three mod's, vdimm, vagp and finaly the droop mod but with the six extra mosfets,.......and if you can do it six extra capacitors behind the vcore capacitors of the mobo...Quote:

Thats all......:D We take a look together with Hipro to see what we can do with the mobo and every mod was successfull and i think that Hipro is about to buy an ASUS mobo too..:D

A picture would be a world of af diffrent right now :)
I am still a lot confused about which mosfets to put where on my P4C800-e since they have diffrent numbers
:D And a 3DMark03 using my Geils 1:1 and a non modet Gigabyte 9800 Pro 256 with XT bios and timings 480/400

tell us the type of mosfets u soldered on the board mate...
its only a 2 minute job...
in fact i may do the same with mine too if i get a prescott in the future
unless you dont want copyrighting :p
If that help you they are from a chaintech 865 board and the type is: N312AD | N3 03 | F 03 the small ones.
:)
thanks :)

and i would have this crazy mofset mod done as well
Yes my ÁÂÉÔ ÌÁ×3 was modet too...Quote:
