LOL, I also posted this in the Xtreme 3D Team board. Congrats to ya macci!
Congrats macci,
:toast:
Pity abt the fake scores lingering all over the place now
:toast:
w00t!
Nice one mate, if anyone was gonna do it, it was gonna be you. :D
Edit: That project name just cracked me up. :rotf:
That is just awesome!! Cangrats like all the others... Your the man (Oh, when it gets to overclocking of course) :)
hell of an acomplishment Macci!:toast:
Way to go man!
Congrats! :toast:
Congrats:toast:
I know it's not much, but I recently broke 5k artifact free by overclocking my 9500np->softmod->9700 to 310/310... and my friend with 9600xt is at about 3.5k and my friend with 2.8C@3.4Ghz, who I bought a 9800pro aiw for, is at about 6k. Kinda puts things into perspective, no?
boo ya! :toast:
Dayum!
:toast:
i knew it was a matter of days :D
very nice :toast:
Very good effort Macci :toast: Well done !
I predict a few the other big gund will now start benching as hard as ever now. :hehe:
Nice one as always Macci.
awesome, simply awesome. Keep'em coming!:D
Grats Macci, well done:toast:
macci, this is great^3 :toast:. I'm now wondering when the others benchmarkers can hit 10k :D
Simply Awesome!... As usual. :toast:
wow, that's awesome.
15k anytime soon? ;)
Nice, but I gotcha beat..........in the 100 meter dash maybe.
Congrats Macci, a significant accomplishment :D
Congrats!
Excellent work! :toast:
C
Thanks for the support guys :toast:
It took some 6 days of benching and tweaking and modding but today I finally got it up and running at required MHz :)
It was 20secs from finishing the test at the same record breaking speeds last wednesday (4505/657/471) but then a bridge on the card exploded - 20secs before the result would have popped up!
I fixed it and Today I finally got it to the same speeds again.
Here's how the 10k hunt looked like in the ORB:

I guess its time to open the bottle now :D :toast:
...and to update your sig ;)
cheers! :toast:
Awesome work
Congrats :toast:
Is that a bottle of champagne to celebrate? ;)
Congrat's dude excellent work as always!
Outstanding piece of work,we all knew you would do it!!
This is the time to open that bottle!! :toast:
Congrats man!
WTG Macci!
Peace
WannaGoFast
dam that's one hell of a clocked 9800XT :)
now i wanna see 11k:p: :stick: :toast: :D
Now pull that rig up next to OPP on the 2001 ORB.....those clocks are enough to maybe tie him.....if not you would be within 100 marks or so IMO...
I like an AMD on top of 2001 :DQuote:

But congrets to 10K in 2003 macci!
incredible.........just incredible
congrats Macci, for a job well done.
The 10k barrier has been broken.
it's Miller time!:toast:

nice macci, can you update your compare and change the name to Felge ;---) :D ?
It´s time for norway to take a 1 place on orb :), Sweden have many 1 places with another cards and finland have macci"one and only macci"Quote:

GJ macci! :toast: :toast:
Pics of blown bridge? :D
Awesome!!
Congrats.
Well done !:slobber:
Have any of you considered the fact that R420 (or whatever it will eventually be called), has already taped out, and they have initial samples of these chips, and prototype boards.. meaning,
ATI engineers have probably broken 10k long ago, and probably have enough juice to allow us to OC to 12k... maybe even 13k. If ATI shrinks to 0.09u (and you can OC it to 1000Mhz+) then maybe even 20k!!
Very nice job Macci grats on the #1 :D
Thanks again for the kind words :)
blown:Quote:

fixed:
http://www.akiba-pc.com/e107_images/...cardhotfix.jpg
btw, with the fix it could take 657MHz at 2.43V Vgpu :D
a well deserved drink - like i said in the hall of fame thread.. biggo respect to you! :toast:Quote:

and the funniest thing - at least to me - is that the whole rig looks pretty clean and ordered, quite unlike the chaos i'd somehow expected (ignoring your 2 doomsday cascades that is).. but it has the looks of a plain lab-test - just the cables for the vmods hint at something completely different :D
now put your 9800se in that rig and make it 9.9k or more aswell! :D
Nice.
The little cap in the upper right sure looks like its getting hot...
real great work :)
grats!
my congras for the 4th time ;) very nice to see a 5 digit score! you have tons of fans cheering you on :D as for that pic you took of your rig, that was after you already published the score ;)
Haha,Quote:

Maybe doing this "mod" on the card now from the beginning;)
Nice one Macci.
It looks like Macci just replaced the broken cap by soldering a tin lead to the resistor connectors.
As already mentioned several times, now you just have to use the same system setup for 3DMark2001... to catch-up/beat OPPainter...
BTW: I meant no offense by mentioning that ATI engineers have probably had 10k on their new chip... it just means that YOU'll probably be able to get 12-13k out of it (if not more.. you never know).
Maybe it's time for some really exteme cooling.. Have you considered liquid helium... it's very expensive but much colder.. if you can get close enough to zero kelvin, the superconducting chips should let you overclock a little more ;)
I dont think it was a Cap kanavit.
Anyways, that fix makes me so happy to look at. Its hilarious.
Won't work.Quote:

macci, are you ati beta driver tester?
There are some 64 bit cats out there!
nortwoods dont like temps below 110/120°C , no idear about gpus...
Nice one bud :toast:
Hope you don't get any more trouble with parts going -

Keep it up, and let us see what that rig does on 3Dmark01 :D
noyce dude, noyce. i get about half that lol.
I doubt it scores that stock.Quote:

The 9800 Pro in a typical system will only run ~6k 100% stock on average. You're talking this card is going to be 2x faster? Not even.
GPU technology doesn't make leaps like that...
congrats
Congrats, bro. :)
Congrats m8, another milestone falls.
Now where is opp when you need him .... hehe :P
:toast:
Done deal :)
Great work as always Macci:toast:
Congrads my friend !!
OPP
Good job. :)
Nice one mate :)
Who's going to try and challenge him now :D
Macci get an A64 rig and get AMD tops :D
I'd like to see MACCI with FX-51/SK8V......
C
thats really high:eek: :slobber:
Congradulations macci!
:toast:
good one man!
Now go blow the 32K in 01:D:D.
And your setup is damn neat! mine have wire over everything. Your is the first caseless clean i see:D.
first, i better say hi. seeing as how im new here. second, congrads to macci. Thirdly, why do i have a PSU the same as the one macci used sitting on my desk not in my rig...brb guys ;-)
i believe it is supposed to be 2x 9700proQuote:

That's a lot more believeable but still crazy.Quote:

That's 10k stock...I guess we'll find out in a month or two.
I think macci may be waiting for socket 939 mobos and 3700+ so he can get 35k in 2001. then 40k with the r420 ;)
macci
Great result!
I have a question though. If you are going totally crazy, why stop short? Those capacitors on the video card are holding the card back. Ever thought of soldering them off and getting larger capacity? This MUST improve overclockability at those speeds.

Welcome to the sickness! :toast: :toast:
R420 or NV40 are gonn be out soon.Quote:

DAYUM I nned to work on getting Mach I and 9800pro or XT or maybe I'll wait for the last hoorah for AGP.
~Bob
I doubt that PCI Express will be the dominant interface until next year, even if the Via roadmap is planning it. Even if the cores are faster, I also doubt that moving to PCI Express will provide better performance, unless the new cores require the extra bandwidth and agp 8x would bottleneck them.
Yeah pci express will offer next to none perf. improvements for existing applications. However, it will sure opens some doors to developers in the future :)
Stop owning, your making me jealous.
Over 10k was hard to imagine when it first came out, but you did it :)
Congrats man,amazing score
niiiiiiiicee.... like everyone said: major props to you macci!!!!
:worship: Macci :worship:
what he said /\
Hello there Mr Rinsewand! Taken you a while to filter over from O-cUK then :p:Quote:

congrats :)
just an observation, but is that an original pentium processor, or even a 486?! i can see in your pic next to your VGA cable?
It's got a heatspreader on it so It might be a PII. The p3's didnt have them
wow, congrats Macci.
Regarding R420: 8500 was at least twice as fast as orignal Radeon, and 9700pro was at least twice as fast as 8500. They've had almost 2 years now (hard to believe.. I know). Worst case scenario... the "good stuff" was delayed and the R420 is "interim" product... so probably have to wait till fall/winter.
Regardless of future products potential, Macci did the unbelievable with current hardware.. and organized enough that the setup looks like a typical test bench. Let me know when you will be signing autographed P4's or 9800xt's. :p
Damn nice!! Gratz:toast:
Congrats macci! :toast:
Lol, can't you pick a more belivable number? s939 won't be that much faster then s940/FX-51. haha 3k higher sure...Quote:

Its one of those old ceramic ones..
486DX33 or P75 or something..
congradulations man i know u worked hard on this one, so break out that champaigne
Good Job!
hey, PCI express is 16X and 2 way, so why AGP 8x 1 way whould offer the same?:rolleyes:Quote:

because if you are using system ram or your hard drive while rendering your performance goes out to lunch.
... yeah, definatly a 486 or original pentium.. but what is it doing next to that supercomputer?
the PCI express GFX is separated from the PCI express. And they have different slot

yea Macci could get 32k right now with todays stuff, so thats 35k with socket 939. He just doesnt feel like wasting money on a fx at this point
incredible! :slobber:

congrats macci , you did a great job there :)
who said that, you or him?Quote:

What makes you think the FX53 makes a 3K difference?Quote:

Just a wild guess?
I'm afraid it wont differ that much from the current FX51, except for the higher default clockspeed and the use with regular RAM instead of ECC RAM.
Dual channel might make a small difference, but it won't be that much.
that the VidCard and HDD wont be directly related, theyre not controlled in the same "controller".Quote:
