Gskill F3-2933C12D-8GTXDG
-
have you tested what these can do at CL10 or CL11?
-
Single-sided MFR seems like so much fun, I need to grab some.
-
How would you compared these to the Corsair Vengeance Extreme (DDR3-3000) kit that you've also tested? Pricing wise, even with consideration for the S/E LN2 pot that comes with the Corsair, at $400 for the kit, these would have to be considered relatively inexpensive...given today's market.

Haven't test it with retail chip for CL 10/11, but with B0 it was 3100ish C12 1T mfr tights 32m

Roy you able to clock mem well with high cpu clocks on retail chips? I have a few es and they are brutal when cpu is maxed out.

I stopped bidding on them at 21.50, figuring that with shipping, $25 was going to be my max. If I had known you paid $600 for them I might have gone as high as $30. :)

Zac, I havent play with LN2 yet just SS temp. low 5Ghz so far
Killed my first retail and this is no. 2.
I will find out soon though...

Its nonsense really i agree with you Pol but if someone can pay it im glad for him

Im talking air. Maxing out CPU on air or water absolutely kills my mem oc on ES cpus. Was curious if the retails were as bad.

Only test with H20, both ES B0 and retail performed the same with M6E.
IMC max @ 3400ish around 5.1G.
What board?
-
3400 at 5.1??? That is crazy. What kind of stability, can you try cinebench?
Im on Deluxe & Hero btw.

Nice deal )) 22 USD it's to much for 2GB of memory (I think it was kit 2x1GB).

Anyone tested how much can these kits be pushed on Cl5 (or even 6)? :D

8Gb MFR sticks that I had wouldn't even POST with CL6 at any frequency. Even if they did, 800-850MHz CL6 would be around their max given CL7 results (maxing out at ~950).

Gskill F3-2933C12D-8GTXDG seems to be sweet spot considering the high rated kit's prices to pass the 3K.
Yet pricey for 8GB.
I am in the middle of the Haswell rig build.
Gigabyte X87 UD5H and the 4770K are on their way to me.
As regarding the RAM, I have very limited range in stock in my region, otherwise I have to order overseas.
However, I can take CORSAIR Vengeance 16GB (4 x 4GB) DDR3 2400 CMZ16GX3M4A2400C9 for 375$ in stock from local dealer.
Or I can orderoverseas Gskill F3-2933C12D-8GTXDG for 400$ + 30$ shipping + 18% VAT = 507$ delivered after taxes.
I am photographer , so the build is 80% picture editing + 20% gaming ( I will keep my good old 6950@6970 for now ) .
Is it possible with Corsair 2400 c9 to reach any close to 3K Mhz on Haswell rig with 24/7 suitable voltage on air ?
Is Haswell really worth the effort to get high RAM freqs considering the productivity ?
Is there any real world advantage in picture editing comparing the ~3K C12 g.skill vs 2400 C9 corsair ?
I am not much into benching for this one.
The goal is 24/7 stable OC with water cooled CPU everything else on air.
Thank you.

Corsair 2400C9 should (still) be based on D-rev Samsung and 1500MHz fully stable might be quite hard to achieve.
Buying expensive memory for 24/7 is more of an ego rather than performance booster, in "real life" you won't notice any difference above DDR3-2133/2400.

Is it as simple as that nowadays ?
Is there no gain for me as a photographer trying to reach maximum RAM freq with minimum latency.
As far as I see it more bandwidth and lower latency should significantly speed up the RAM operation with Haswell.
Therefore 3000 Mhz c12 should be faster for my needs than 2400Mhz c9.
Please correct me if I am wrong.
Are there any available benches / real life tests comparing the RAM freqs/latency influence with Haswell ?
Dumo, would you do some for us ?
-
I've decided to go with my pocket rather with my ego.
Ordered today 2 X G.SKILL Trident X Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3 2600 (PC3 20800) F3-2600C10D-8GTXD for $287 + ~40 S&H + 18%TAX. total of ~ 400$ US delivered after taxes.
I need 16Gb and paying 800$ + S&H + taxes ( about $1K ) for 2933 is no-go for my budget at the moment.
Thanks
Should be sweet kit though ;) ...

I'm not sure which bench, only run 2ds and valid for now.

IceB - Could you do some mem bandwidth testing with your 2400c9 then your 2600c10? You may be surprised at the outcome.
Roy - you always get the good stuff, lucky you and great results.

I maintain that he has a secret stash of Pixie Dust that he sprinkles on all those parts when he first gets them and they just all magically overclock like mad. :)

It's all the CPU binning he does, IMHO. Dumo's got some killer IMCs in his chips.
I got 3520 Spi32m on air with these sticks, 3440 fully stable. These sticks are pretty good.
-
-
Is it true that single sided sticks provide less bandwidth than double sided? ie 3D benching has lower scores than double sided sticks?
:)

Still going @ 3520

Thanks mate,
I just get them last week.....
ZoLKoRn here tested this kit last month (can be changed to English).

Anyone seen the new world record from G.Skill yet? Reached 4,400mhz overclock. I'm watching you Dumo. Good job as always.

Imo, its 23 before 55
As far as retail, I think only Hazzan's 4770K can boot 4G+ for now :)

great job nevertheless ryan :)
