Sadly I had no idea how far down the road SC would come out so I didn't want to wait, both will be OC'd as far as they can go anyway. I hope we find out soon if there will be modded vbios's or if the tdp limit is hardware locked.
that SLI connector :O
I know right, it's awesome. Pity is not available they'd make a killing on them.
Let's install the beast ;)
Just one here.

The scores might not seem like a huge gain, but for example the 3D Mark bench with the CPU @ 4GHz and Titans at stock settings just phoned it in and beat the score layed down by a fellow Aussie's 3960X @ 5.375 GHz and SLI 680's at 1476/7084 MHz. These things have some serious power behind them.
How do your cards act in clock throttling?
I have two
The "sc signature" just has ants in its pants and goes 1070 up and down to 1170 apita.
both cards same clocks temp and settings
http://imageshack.us/a/img507/8461/titan1.jpg
the "sc" card is better more flat for some reason and we score more since it clocks are higher longer.
http://imageshack.us/a/img152/586/sc1ov.jpg
even with easy dx9 and low temps like 03 ran the flatest with sc card
other one was still all over like drunken schoolgirl
http://imageshack.us/a/img526/2235/tit2flat03.jpg
alot of testing i have to do yet to see whats going to work best or if the sc s is just a defect lol
Sorry for messing in the TITAN thread but how its possible they should score hella more...

3DM11 is more CPU limited, 5GHz vs 4GHz (which mine is at) is a huge diff. I gained 2K+ in that bench with only 700MHz more CPU. Compare a more card heavy bench like Firestrike and you'll see the gap widen but even still I gained 1-2K with 700MHz CPU increase - these scores are all with CPU @ 4GHz. If you want apples/apples comparison, put your CPU @ 4GHz and run the same benches, don't run yours at 5GHz and say Titan is slow when my CPU is at 4GHz lol. That's why I did 680 OC vs Titan stock.
Re: Crysis, remember our res difference and the titans are pushing 100 FPS solid.
My Asus does 980MHz default boost speed at stock.
With max offset, stock voltage: 1123MHz, no throttling, only fan speed changing depending on load (but still <60%).
This Titan at stock speed beats my 2x580 SLI under all tests including Futuremark ones.
I am really impressed in my case :)
im runing Cryis at 1920x1080 all maxed and MSAAx4 and i have VSYNC ON they push more than 60 but i guess you talk on 2560x1440 right ?
either way i think my galaxy's perform awesome compared to the TITAN, yeah i know they have power but im very happy with mines
cheers friend
Sergio
Hey cowie - I dont have any crazy throttling, just knocks it down one step when it approaches the temp target then allows it back up. Both my cards sit at 992 MHz stock. I haven't really tried OC much but was playing Crysis at 1110 MHz / 80*C but eventually locked. They will be going under water when Aquacomputer release their blocks.
Serg - I'm at 1600P in games. I'm noticing too the vram use is now well into the 2+ GB range with Crysis 2/3 and BF3. Must be able to detect it and use it as its the same settings as always and with the 680's the highest I saw it was 2011 MB. My 680's would game BF3/Crysis etc at 1398/7600 MHz so they were still quick and much faster than an 'average' 680, but these feel like the average FPS is higher and more stable, much less fluctuation without VSYNC enabled. At 1080P you do not need titans, 680's are the better choice for sure. With the CVAR configurator maxed, Crysis 3 at 1600P falls under 45 FPS with 680's lol......
Not bad i wanted asus but i truely hope it does not matter
Will put a h70 on it see if it helps, i am looking for sinks to put on vrm areas now.
As for 3d11 sli
I was putting up 31+k in gpu with 3770k 4.7 cards 1100ish+-+-
So there's big numbers to be had with lastest dx10-dx11 3dmark benches and heaven.
My hwbot wrappered heaven runs testing were as fast as my 7980 clocked with no tess 3450 so that will tel you something right there.
Edit
Looks like i got the card calmed down with the h70
NOW its just like the other one
first boot on h70
After a quick on the fly adjustment of my tie wraps got it to max out no more then 45ish in heaven, yesterday it would lock at this clock
will test more ofcoarse .

Ghetto titan yeah baby i might paint it flat black too:D
45*C load that's great! Nice work. Probably helps its just bare die and no HS. Can't wait to get my blocks on for silence if nothing else lol. Was there anything to indicate you have taken the cooler off? I was worried about warranty since the lightnings had the void if removed stickers on the screws for the heatsink. These cards had nothing I could see, did you see anything?
These cards are crazy good though, games feel smoother and faster, like my lightnings at 1400+ but these are at stock :D
It did throttle finally after a longer stress test but just went from 1123MHz down to a stable 1110MHz ;)
Don't worry, all those cards are the same really. Brand doesn't matter for Titan I guess.
I'll just settle at the default boost for the time being. If it can stay at the stock 980MHz boost during the summer under air... I'll just skip waterblocks.
Yeah but they'll last a long time too bro :)

Nah nothing on it that is in the way, normal straight up job.
If anything it might extend the life by keeping it cool?
Even around 1000 it still performs well if you can find a cheap aio unit like a h60 or whatever it would be almost as good.
Thats a weird question since i can set the clock at say +100 in ab boost > 1160 set +119> 1150 set +125 >1180 set +110 >1180 so its new to me too say the least.
But to answer not so far.

Pretty sure I've found the power limit string in the bios, there's the 100% board power string (250w) and just after it the max board power string (265w).......There's another limit of 105w in there too, not sure what that pertains to. But do I have the balls to edit it, flash it and test it :/ I don't think so lol I'm just teaching myself hex I am not 100% confident it'll work and without a backup bios like on my lightnings flashing it worries me. Shouldn't be long until this is sorted though, someone will be prepared to risk bricking a card to test it.
Nice cards
Post your bios man, i'll get to examining it. Then we'll find a sucker to flash it :D
UPDATE:
Half way there, just need to work out voltage & boost

1084 MHz looks to be about max game stable clocks on default voltage. Haven't over voltaged them yet I dont feel I need to with this much power lol
Whats everyones max stable Valley @ Extreme HD preset clocks using +37mv (1.200v)?
Mines on air cruising through at 1163 MHz.
See if you can hit the same hard limit tht c-buzz has at 1202...
:)
Nah both mine hit 1228 before crashing, not sure if they'll go higher.

Yes, it's a bit silly not to overclock a Titan when it's even advertised for that.
After playing with both Asus gpu tweak and Afterburner, I came to the same conclusion/results than Guru3D in fact...
My gpu is at around 1136MHz now and memory at a safe 6242MHz (leaving more power for the gpu too).
Edit: Stability tweak - GPU Boost down to 980 now giving around 1110MHz. Other settings unchanged.

Nice cards and nice thread guys...

Need more cpu
Can you increase the available software limit on gpu clock? So you can hit the gpu limit not the software limit?
:)
1187 is this cards limit atm.
nop, did you see my post? I reach 1200 in 3D11
Everytime it goes over 1187 it will crash,so you are telling me its software cant go that high?
Its not the card thats at its limit it the software?
please do tell

Lod 15,high performance
shtty os anyone should reach that gpu score np with sb ib sb-e around 5.0
That's my problem...my cpu can do 5350 so i need the right settings!
My card runs also faster...so i must be higher than you!
here read this
http://hwbot.org/forum/showthread.php?t=61804
I cant find it now but 680 tested with all sorts of lod settings posted from an xs member on a site, try google its a good read.
But you should give it a good test its not same as 680 lod setting
Few 1000s is what you should pick up
here i found it

:)
Would be nice to see the green army come out in force in this one.
What the heck else are you going to do with a 12ht cpu 3d11?.... yawn
Lol you're cheating your 3dmark :D.
I see you figured out the lod bais setting needs traa set to sparse grid ss in order to use lod settings.
Works in dx11 too :).
Btw, you don't have to do override, you can do enhance and it'll still work and allow you to use the game's/program's aa if you want.
And after that, if you have the extra speed to go around, you can override and do your own method of msaa along with the spares grid tranparency stuff.
Set max prerender frames to 255 when you're benching, it might help a tiny bit.
On gaming keeping it 0 for min input lag.
We badly need to be able to boost max power above 265. Even with no voltage boost and only running at 1097mhz the throttling can be bad. Vantage shows it easily...gpu-z (or precisionX) monitoring shows peak power hitting 107.2% and quickly throttling back voltage and frequency. I haven't bothered playing with my video card bios for a couple of years (back in the 580 days), but Titan is really crippled by the 265 max power, so I'm hoping the power can be tweaked up at least a modest amount.
For now max power is all I care about, boost voltage and frequencies are ok (at the moment at least). Hm...do I have the guts to hex edit like I used to do in the old days, fix the checksum and flash? I wasn't playing with a $1000 card back then, although I did forget to fix the checksum once and temporarily bricked my video card (easily corrected and fixed fortunately).
I've dumped my evga Titan SC bios with gpu-z if anyone can use it. (PM me your email if you want it.)
Jep...me!
bmg I've already found the strings controlling the power limit. Should be something available soon to increase this. I wouldn't push it over 300w or so though the ref vrm's look to be able to handle 350-400w max
Still a pitty score!
http://hwbot.org/submission/2362265_
So I changed the 04 0B 28 at 8DCF-8DD1 to 04 32 38
which corresponds to changing 265000 to 275000. I also fixed the checksum at 0000F9FF. In theory I should be ready to flash, right? I figured I'd start with a minimal 10watt boost. I'm kind of chicken with the $1000 board though.
I cant do that stuff well at all Good luck with it thou, you know we all want to know how its works out.
Sli vantage today
15 lod sgssx4
http://imageshack.us/a/img713/1492/slitv69194.jpg
So I went ahead and flashed...it worked perfectly! PrecisionX now lets me go up to 110% and monitoring power I can see it peak at that. I'd guess 285 watts should be safe, so I think I'll go ahead and try that next.:)
ETA: bumped max power up to 285 watts and it worked fine. PrecisionX let's me go up to 114% now. To go from 265 to 285 just took changing the 04 0B 28 to 04 59 48 and also fixing the checksum of course.
Thanks for being the test pilot, please report back. Maybe toss up some screenshots of precision as well?
Thanks!
congratz to all of you on your titan acquisition :toast:
oh come on man up! :D
solder an 8pin female end from an extension to the vacant 8pin.. good up to 400 watts just like that :D

PM me your email address and I'll send it to you. I imagine CrazyNutz will have the ability to change max_power added to kgb soon though, along with probably more. CryptiK and CrazyNutz were the ones who got the ball rolling on the mods, I just got interested reading their posts here and decided to cross my fingers and try it. It was fun doing a little modding with the Hex editor again like the old days.
It seems to work fine, although the gain seems fairly modest. I guess going to 285 from 265 is really only about 7.5% more power though, so gains wouldn't be all that great. I'm not sure how high one could push the power without frying something....300 watts maybe? That's still only a 13% power boost relative to 265. Titan really seems a bit crippled by the power available to it.
Like NapalmV5 showed a few posts above, it wouldn't take much of a HW mod to get more power into the board, but how far can things be pushed before frying something?
ETA: I emailed the Titan285 bios to mbreslin and he's posted it at http://www.overclock.net/t/1363440/n...#post_19424227 so that's the best place to get it. (posting the link ok?) I used nvflash_5.127 to flash it.
Also, use at your own risk of course.
its badly underpowered as is thats why i suggest you guys add more power to the board.. what i wouldve done from day one had i gotten 4x ref titans
let the gpu boost 2.0 do its magic and see how far it goes on its own with bios+hard mod
https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-1...bYY/s406/1.png
VRM should be the limiter not the board power inputs but I'd say (and I asked TiN also) the max VRM capacity and we agree something like 350-425w before something lets go. Max power 300w in bios should be safe(ish) long term and not require the additional plug. Power slider then goes to 120% from my testing.
bmg - good on ya man, i wasn't going to post my mod bios and get an inbox full of 'my card blew up its your fault' lol.
That should be fine, at least it will stop the power limit throttling. I think I know why nvidia have such a low power limit, which makes sense, but its not because the card is about to blow at stock voltage. Its acoustically driven and to have a temp target coupled with a power target they can get very fine granularity over the throttling and acoustic control. You'll notice speed is tied to voltage - same as on the 600 series.
Half of what I'm reading is in Chinese but I can't wait to start messing with my Titan, Hopefully should have one within a week or two (waiting on my refund for my 7950). Although I don't understand some technical aspects, it seems that a bios flash will allow a higher power draw to OC further, is that correct? /excited
not OC further but to OC without hitting the power limit causing throttling back down to lower clocks.
You'd ideally need a mod bios based on your bios, so we really need to do one for each AIC's model(s). We don't know how well cross flashing works except for EVGA vanilla to SC which reportedly does work.

which version of nvflash should be used with titan?
NVFlash 5.127????
I use this one.

Regards!
I tryed 3 BIOS, original, one ASUS and other EVGA MOD from here (POWER MOD), and was pretty similar all, my GPU is under WATER, i dont have issue with TEMP, max temp is 45C. The limitation for my OC is the Vgpu, +34MV is too small, with that Volt i can run 2011 at 1241MHz.
Nacho
I have one if you need it Andrea
Here man this is from Cowie's card one page back easier than emailing you: http://www.filedropper.com/evgascstitan
sure is untouched?
Yes its stock evga sc signature card i uploaded i used gpuz to get it.
I have stock sc card if you need it.
I bump the 107% limit to much in first two 3d11 tests moves the clock around some.
Before unlocking the 680's were like that remember?
Cowie SC Sig is the exact same as SC :)
It works sir !
Asus bios modded with KGB and your default .cfg (120% power, 100% fan unlock), no problems and I can tell from the noise that the fan is really at 100% ;)
I got cojones but I'm not suicidal yet: flashing back original bios now... Still waiting for the first one to post he burned his card lol.

I got nuttin
120% power mod
Same clocks
Power is read into ab osd as 107 max, slider says 120% i unlinked from temp too.
Still same?
So how you guys doing?
Do any of the bioses help with increasing vgpu? And power limit? Or all the same so far?
:)
All the same atm aussie-revhead.
You guys are getting pretty decent clocks out of these, if only you could bump the volts a bit .... Has anyone vmodded one yet? Surely some of the elite boys have...
:)
Has anyone seen the rumoured Titan Lightning pic floating around somewhere?
:)
Its just the red frozr cooler in that misunderstood wccftech whatever site where they take the press release the wrong way and say titan lightning will be at Cebit.
