at what res will you be using this card?
1650x1050. However I plan to run some test at 1080p

My experience with this card so far is very good, here are some highlights:
1). Very quiet.
2). Very cool. Generates so little heat.
3). The performance is stunning.
4). 1200mhz!!! while gaming and 3d apps
5). Assload of memory OC headroom. I can run the memory at 7200mhz QDR. So I don't think the 192bus will hold it back too much.
hmmm... wonder how it would do at 2560x1440.
the OC potential really excites me!
I think that res might be pushing it a bit. Although at that res you really do not need much AA so it would probably be fine. I think I would select a 670 or > for 2560x1440 if you plan on cranking up the eye candy.Quote:

Nice card Gaul. I'm interested to see what you get your memory clocks to. I've seen some videos where nvidia reps were hinting about the memory OC headroom. I wonder if being able to hit high clocks on the mem will be the norm.

Not bad results but once you start to explore the limits of the card you soon find them it seems. Once you go above 1680 or 1920 the card takes quite a steep downturn... not that the results are bad even at higher resolutions, just that I expected better from a card thats still Ģ205+ in the UK and $307+ in the US. This card really needs to come down to Ģ180 or $250 still before its worth looking at IMO especially as GTX670s can be found for around $370 now.
Still would of made more sense to give the 660 Ti a 256bit bus but use silicone with some duff / disabled CUDA cores.
I won't have any desire to go over 1080p during this card's usable life span. I'm sure they will come down to the $250 price, and actually that is really what it cost me anyhow.
I got the 660ti plus the free borderlands2 that I was going to buy regardless. So $300(660ti) - $50(borderlands2) = $250.00 :) worked out great.
For you it worked out good and I guess anyone else who wants Borderlands2, but in general $307 / Ģ205 is pretty steep for this card. I'm honestly surprised not many reviews have commented on the price of the 660 Ti it doesn't take much to look around and see for very little extra there is the 7950 or GTX670 on offer, both of which IMO offer much better price/performance/lifespan. Once the 660 Ti does come down to $250 or less though then the story will be a little different. Until then I can't help but look at the 660 Ti and think that its a nice card, but released too late, at too high of a price, and is a little too hobbled for its current price.

I'm surprised there isn't more interest in this thread the 660Ti is a good card, its just unbalanced, mainly in its pricing. Maybe thats why there isn't more users with a 660Ti in this thread?

@Ket yeah I know. Needs to be at $250 price point.
I want to get this card but for $300 I'm stuck between this and the 670. If the 660 Ti was closer to $250 I would already have one in my system. At the moment I think I'm just going to wait it out a bit and hope for a good deal to come along on one.

Another question, unlocking the bios, does alter the fan spin cicle? The asus profile in bios is just great, starts at 10% and go all the way up to 50% i think, stabilizing at 70c. Thanks in advance!

hey crazy, went to try to flash the bios of my card today, downloaded the nvflash you posted from TPU and tried running the .exe as an admin, and it pops up, asking me to press enter a bunch of times, then eventually, the program closes.
ive also tried pressing N to start the nvflash command as well as - to try the update command, but its doing the same thing and closing each times.
am i an idiot or is there a trick to this?
__edit: nevermind, i got it to work, had to run the exe from command prompt.

New here but do you think you could unlock the voltage/fans on the 3GB Galaxy, I run these in SLI and have a nice OC but they cap at 1.17 on the voltage. It would be nice to see if I can push them higher. temps don't even hit 60 stressing these things.

I'm running an EVGA 660ti SC as well. Mine's not too much of an overclocker though, doesn't seem to want to go past 1215 boost no matter how cool I keep her.

I love my Galaxy 3GB, I can also attest to being very impressed with the cooling.

Hey crazy nutz, Just noticed these galaxy cards are temp. throttling at 70 degrees. is there a way to fix this? My buddy just put 3 of them in his system and the top card hits 70 and downclocks? Please let me know or if its a tweak in the modded bios can you post that.
