Intel is simply streamlining the manufacturing process to cut costs and expenses, and to make more Pentium4s with greater effeciency. P4E(prescott) has 1mb L2 cache which equals A64 so that will make it competitive marketing. The prescott was targeted for big PC manufacturers such as HP, Dell, Gateway, Sony, e-machines, and compaq. Sure the Prescott is slower for gaming than A64, but in this industry, to survive as a business. Gaming is the last in priority. Look at what happened to 3dfx.
Oneof theyre first priority is gaming, Its almost only gamer that buy some chip individualy. And gamer are always upgrading.
