Nvidia will release a new Geforce 500-series vga card on November 29th. The new model will be named Geforce GTX 560 Ti 448 and has the following specs: GF110, 448 SP, 320-bit memory bus, 1280 MB GDDR5. Its clocked at 730 MHz GPU, 3800 MHz GDDR5. TDP is 210W, only 9W less than GTX 570 at 480 SP. Looks like Nvidia is trying to get some use of otherwise discarded GF110 chips. :)

There is one more thing to it, its price is expected to be same as MSRP of original GTX 560 Ti.
I guess that will be the cheapest way to get triple SLI, but still, it is not as sweet or elegant as GF114.
What's that 7? 560 variants? Good god/aliens/government we need a new node.

This "new" GTX560ti will be using GF110 cores, maybe we should look at it like a GTX565 (between 560ti and 570)

Also, are you suggesting more VRAM, 2GB in this case, wouldn't help gaming performance at 30" ? I thought that was the point of it more VRAM, to help for the bandwidth of higher resolutions and screen sizes?

On the other hand it looks like it will be a shortage of those cards so here in Eastern Europe we'll don't see them in stores. At least not at the beginning. :(
i will buy 2 of the 2.5gb ones for my 3 monitor surround setup.
I for one dont mind turning a few settings, or AA down in the very very few games out there that would actually stutter on 1 Gb Vram at 1920x1200.
Next year I'll have myself a nice pair of mid range keplers, rather than people stressing out now and mass purchasing tri SLI 3 Gb GTX 580s just so that they can run Ubersampling in Witcher 2, and BF3 + Shogun 2 at 1920x1200 with 8x AA.
I personally prefer the efficiency of G114. I dont want G110 at all, no matter how fast, or cheap it goes.
Put two of the 2GB's in SLI and and you have just made one of the slickest surround configurations you can get. You get surround support, more VRAM and considerably more performance than a single GTX 580 for the same price.Quote:

They look to be the same PCB and same chip as the GTX 570. As such, I wouldn't be surprised to see some manufacturers flash 570 as 560ti 448's just to meet demand. If that ends up the case, these could end up very nice buys.
Even if they were I really, really wouldn't recommend it. While many GTX 465 manufacturers used GTX 470 PCBs, most GTX 560 448 cards are based off of a GTX 560 Ti PCB + PWM which doesn't bode well for long-term stability if those extra SMs were unlocked.Quote:

Play GTA 4 with moderate setting at 1280x1024 and 1GB graphics card will start to choke at some point.
Play it with full settings at fullHD and you are looking at 1.6GB vram minimum.
Is it the view distance that eats all the ram? If so, does it look that much better on a 2 gig card?
It is likely the view distance that eats alot of it, I had a GTX580 1.5GB and played all max at 1280x1024, then went to GTX560Ti 1GB, and every 2 minutes it would choke as it run out of VRAM and had to swap it out, during this time the game would run at 2fps for up to 10 seconds, and i was killed :)
I then went to GTX560Ti 2GB and it runs like a dream.
Regarding the question, view distance lets you see further, enemies, traffic etc, and especially helps during helicopter fights.

I can't really add much to this other than the fact that unlike the GTX 580, 570, 560 Ti, GTX 550, etc, the board partners were not given a "reference" PCB or cooling solution to base their designs upon this time around . Think back to the GTX 560 (non-Ti) launch; the AiBs went into ye olde parts bin and came out with their own unique spin instead of everyone using a cookie cutter design.Quote:

Nv might as well refresh the whole line or make a gtx 585/575.
Considering both cards overclock really well and well past the 10 percent range. I think an upgraded cooler/stronger parts on the PCB and 10% more clocks would at least make things less embarrassing for NV. MSI was able to overclock the gtx 580, 8 percent, while having it consume 5% less power. Gigabyte was able to do it with a better overclock and have similar power consumption. With such a long wait if NV parts come during summer, NV will need a card similar to the gtx 7800 512 card more than ever(custom cooler and higher clocks). This is of course is if AMD releases in January.
