so they're going to be releasing flexible radiators? man, it's about time
Pretty *I am such a nerd*.
Aren't we all.......
Do you need flexible fans for those flexible radiators?
*drool*
2nd pic looks like they're going after the GTS or GTX, fins are pretty dense.:stick:
grr I JUST bought a RX360 :( Sometimes I hate computer technology!
Kinda remind me of the old HE120.1 :).
Looks like the high speed fan optimized (High Density) double thickness sister rad to the RX. Too bad they don't offer an unpainted fins version, I kind of like the copper look.
Hmm, that could be wished from all the other rad vendors too. I still recall magicool plexi elegant rad having unpainted fins and beating all the other rads , so wonder how much paint takes from heat dissipation efficiency. If not the cracking problem of it's plexi inlet end, that very probably would be THE rad to get.
Yes, higher FPI than the RX line, and two rows of fins per tube.... back to the lab for me. :)
Oh btw, yes, my summer vacation is over now, back to normal.
skinnee: and oh when you'll finally post results of EK's v2 rads? :)
I have a lot of radiator data queued up (I may have been away from posting, but not testing), along with a new comparison in the same style as Vapor has been doing. I'm sticking with this radiator procedure for a while. I'm venturing into shroud and 1080 testing too, and the procedure scales nicely to those platforms too.
Sorry for the OT.
How soon is soon??? I was about to order all the water cooling parts for my build...
First the XSPC CPU Block and now this... Maybe I should wait a bit more :D
^ +1
They're considering producing a limited run based on interest - not sure what availability would be like States-side...
I wonder if someone has ever tried to remove paint from common rad fins with some acetone or alikes and compared heat dissipated before/after. So far most mods related with rads & paint on contrary added paint by respraying it to different (eg. white) color.
I buy xspc but but I wonder if it pays to wait for the new radiator xspc?
Even if new rads are marginally better imho no need to wait, as i doubt in revolutionary performance inrease for rads however unconventional their design might be. +If you were considering current XSPC rads like RS or RX, which are sparse finned ones, then i'd be vary of fact that new ones might be dense finned ones with bad low-rpm/quiet fans performance.
I look at the EX (and other slims) a different way in the current radiator marketplace... Slim's are there for space constraints mostly, and we want the dissipation capability of a PA/RX/etc. in that form factor. So, in order to do that, you've gotta try and get your radiator core to fit the various fan speeds out there. Swiftech did very well with their MCR-QP... remdinds me, I need to schedule their new one yet.
Anyhow, we'll have to wait on the numbers that are logging now. :p:
medium-high speed at low noise is attainable with quite a few fans out there. So, "LOUD", I tend to disagree there.
edit: Noise is one of those highly subjective areas.
Low noise is subjective to each person as I have not heard any fan @1800 RPM that can not be heard from six feet away in a quiet room. Now imagine six of them… NOISY
I have two systems in one room, one running three Noctua's @ 900 RPM and one running three GentleTyphoon's @ 800 RPM and all I hear is a DDC pump in one of the systems. Any higher fan speeds than that I can hear them as they get too loud for my taste.
can anyone know when the release date of new radiators??
ืnot my preference haha
FYI, found this little tidbit on OCN:

And now that I look at that second photo again I guess it does look a bit slimmer. May be a slim thickness high density flavor..
I'm with gcpu though, I can't stand any fan over 1000RPM no matter what fan....so I favor the slow speed options. Not that there isn't a desire for high speed though, I still "hear" about people running 3000+RPM fans. Even more that are perfectly fine with GT15s at full speed where higher density does make more sense.
Yes, the EX is definitely a thinner rad than the RX. That I can confirm.
If this comes in 560mm I will probably pick one up since aqua comp doesn't have them yet :(
i gotta know the pricing and performance
Thanks!
Hopefully you can find the time to squeeze in Swiftech's offering as a comparison. I know they were looking for some review on that, and I'm just not setup nor do I have a test method I'm really happy with anymore. I tore down my old bench to scavenge a few temp sensor for pump heat testing.
You're the man when it comes to precision rad testing..:)
Always appreciate your work!!
Cheers!:toast2:
Martin
why is the price radiators EX very low to the RX??

which radiator is better XSPC EX or Ekwaterblocks XTX?
I'm looking to match up some fans to this radiator. What would you suggest for low speed/silence as a preference?
just ordered 2 of these
