Kingston HyperX: Lets set the facts straight!
Too many issues have arised from this memory, people have acquired some good results, and some really poor ones.
Which are BH-5 and which are CH-5 and which are BH-6?
Hard to know, you have to take off the Heatspreader and void your warrenty to find out.
Where do I come in?
I bought 2 sticks originally, from www.atic.ca where they wouldn't let me buy one stick, because they say these are dual channel sticks and you must buy 2
I bought 2 x 256 mb PC3500 that day, one had been labeled 2.5V A00 and the other labeled 2.6V A01
I tested each of them in my NF7-S v2.0 and neither could do 2-2-2-5 timings even with 2.9V at 200 fsb
The 2.5V A00 could not do its rated 7-3-3-2 at 217 fsb so I called Kingston and RMA'd both sticks and recieved dual pack 2.6V A01 sticks
Put them in and still no 2-2-2-5 at 200 fsb, however they do work at 217 fsb 7-3-3-2 2.6V as they are rated to do

Some people say the A00 are BH-5
Some people say the non A are BH-5
Truth is, it has been a very dissapointing experience with NF7-S v2.0 since it has had so many problems with this memory, and infact other modules (my OCZ Platinum Ltd Edition for example)
My question is, anyone know the facts on which PC3500 sticks are BH-5 and which are CH-5 or BH-6?

nah, just look at what the guys around here have said. you get a fair chance to get real bh5 if you just stick to what they say. and it can be seen without taking the hs off.

this on its own is ridiculous. i mean screw them. if i want to buy one single stick, i get only one. that sounds like a ripoff - an easy way to get more cash from your customer. the individual stick can be used on its own - sure it might give you a better performance used in a dual-chan setup, but that's about it. no need to run 2 sticks. next time they tell you to use 3 sticks as it tri-channel or whatnot.

bad choice to begin with, but you already heard about that one ;)
a00, a01 or a02 have nothing to do with the infamous a- and not a-type ram. that "a" refers to khx3200a/256 or khx3200/256, the latter being the real §§§§, which also can be seen from its timings. the a-type is rated 2-3-2-6, the non-a (bh5) is rated 2-2-2-6. oh and the talk was never about the 3500 but always 3200. there is some 3500 with timings 2-2-2-6, but as someone in here said, that doesn't have to be bh5, but could be bh6 (probably the next good ram).

as said above.. see what the a refers to.
about the board. i got a nf7-s myself. so far my cheap-ass ddr333 infineon cl2.5 keeps it up at 200-2-2-2-11, would go as far as 205 with same timings. above that my psu craps out and probably the mem aswell. the board can handle 215 async, so you might want to try that one. it isn't always the memory that's crapping out on you. sometimes it's the board, sometimes it's the cpu or a combination of all three. if you want to be sure it's your memory, try it on another board - some p4 board (as they tend to go higher then the avg. amd), if you got a mate around who wouldn't mind some testing or you could just do some vmods to your board (vdimm, ect.) and see if that helps.
i sure hope this helps a bit.
i'm waiting for my garantueed mushkin bh5 to arrive in the next few days, so i'll see what part of my rig is crappy (beside my pitiful 300w psu ;) ) if any. and i will keep all 3 of them even if they won't get to 217 or higher. at the same time i'm also hoping for a batch of khx3200non-a... same as above. if they don't perform like they should, i'll keep them for the next rig to prove they are actually worth the money. and if they don't live up to the expectations then, i could sell them for a good price anyway :D
