Mine will be in soon.
This thread should have been saved for OC results of Zambezi with a CHV ;)

What the heck,2080 memory on deneb.Good job :)
nice results!
was wondering when one of these threads was gonna start!
what memory are you running dumo?
I will have results soon just trying to figure out these g.skill sniper series 2x4gb 1866 9-10-9-28 with my 1090t
so far they are not liking 8-10-8-28 timings....looks like I'll just stick to increase mhz so far there at 950mhz
any luck with new bios 0705?
still running previos 0508
This one Tbone...http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/...-F3-17000CL8-D
It was good with SB P67 and seems to play nice with AMD 990FX too
Just got this board yesterday, will try new bios soon
@dumo
you'll have fun benching bd
from slamms

Final clock for AMD Bulldozer 7885 Mhz on 2.04v. Well done #AMD! Need more perfomance!
I hope so HC.
9 months playing the same toy.....too long.
If BD sucks then just move on to the other new cpu
Nice clocks....looks like its going to be Gskill for me again..
yeah I have two fans on the cooler right now, one push one pull...
but I live in California so the ambient temps here are somewhat high
I'm saving for BD + WC setup so it would be counter productive to waste another $80 on a different air cooler lol
What chips would those be running BTW, Dumo? Any other alternatives?
I hear Gskill is doing a new set like Flares for AMD soon as well.
I heard BBSE.
This one Mav...http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/...-F3-17000CL8-D
Thanks man.....let me see if I can find something similar.
Edit: No where to be found....damn
No one has noticed for the past couple years now, or maybe just hasnt cared, but Newegg still has Flares in stock. Not the highest grade ones @ 2000, but the 1800 ones. Ive been debating off and on for the past couple months whether I should get a couple kits, but I just need more RAM than that so I have to pass on getting them. Anyway, Newegg has had 7 kits in stock for a LONG time.
Nothing special in case of cpu- and memory-clock, but a decent ref-clock:
http://valid.canardpc.com/cache/screenshot/1889639.png
Stable up to 355 MHz.
I'm thinking about this one for BD... I really like the MIVE with SB.

I didn't take it cold for the review, but it will be going under LN2 for the Bulldozer review. Can't wait to push it to the limit!
You all rock. I love my CHV. ROG ftw!
Grats to the fellow over DDR 3 2k. That's nice.
I'm @ 4.1GHz on air with my old 1055T. I'll post shots and specifics later.
Really nice Bus speed there Music:up:
I will test 990FX UD7/UD5 too. So far this board is good PR
I'm still looking for a decent Flare ram Hokie
Thanks Backlash:up:
The only complain so far is no post code reader on board. I have to stick my reader card in the middle of 2 GPUs when run 2X 16Xs

what cooling do u used?
Single stage
I'm working with Giga on a UD7 I'm reviewing right now. It is a great board with a ton of features..... except for Vdroop. You can see the problem I'm having here. Needless to say that's unacceptable. We'll see what Giga has to say / do about it before I finish the review.
I used to be hung up on that, but the Q-LEDs have really grown on me. How often do you need more info than "it's your RAM" or "it's your storage", etc, etc? Going from the Cross V to the UD7, I thought I'd be ecstatic, but find myself missing the LEDs.
I can't vouch for the vendor (indeed I've never heard of them before), but I found a set of Pi sticks rated for 2000 / 7-9-7-24. FWIW.
Nice Dumo! How do u like the 0506 bios? I think it's more stable gonna try 0709 bios soon
0506 seems better in term of clocking up ram TBone.
I will try 0709 on BD...If it ever get released. Lol
I try to get 3000 of HT without any succ.
can you put ur voltage setting (bios screen shoot if it possible) or at least the voltage setting to get ur bus speed and ur HT (3000)
I use the same bios version
wow i will try 0506 too
Got pretty bad feeling about this platform:(
^ what?
Why the change of heart? Your screenshot above is just plain awesome.
yeah i updating to new bios 0705 and im having severe problems booting with AHCI enabled, i dunno what happened but i cant boot with AHCI on... had to revert to IDE.
any ideas? i had everything working with 0506 and had Amd AHCI drivers loaded and working fine, not sure how it got screwed up. checked device manger. is there a way i can make it load into windows wit ahci? it gives me bootmgr is missing error or the other please insert boot disc or whatever.
man everything was working fine...there goes the saying if it aint broke dont fix it. :(
Damn your scaring us dumo.........
Board is fine guys, just been turn off by all the arguments about BD on the other threads:(
All my 955s seem to max out @ 5.45Ghz with an old SS...no time for LN2 test.
Will try a few 980s today
Oh, that? I'd recommend either a) ignoring them, or b) do what I do - treat it as a massive train wreck that you can't stop watching.
People always argue about hardware to come, you've been here long enough to know that. It will come eventually and we shall have a lot of fun overclocking them on these Cross V's. That's all we need to know. :)
Would it help OC if I connected up the extra 4-pin CPU power just above the am3+ socket?
Or is that just ment for liquid helium? ;)
Try 1.3v ....maybe a little more dont go over 1.35v....for CPU/nb setting in bios.
1.25v for ht but no need for ht to be 3ghz lower multi down to 2.2ghz
As the guy above said. But the reason why you dont want your HTT up at 3GHz is because testing has shown that right around 2GHz is the perfect spot for fps in gaming. As you go up in speed, fps goes down. Odd I know, but thats how it goes. 2GHz is still plenty fast and no where near maxing the bandwidth of it.
yes focus on keeping HTT around 2ghz(from what ive learned it doesnt do much)...but main focus and main performance gains come from 3ghz NB
the multi's in the bios will help you target this speed.
what cpu do you have again?
good luck
ill try and post bios screenies later this weekend or monday.
but if anybody has them handy please post em or you can refer to a couple other threads in this forum
chew and flankr have done good reviews

I haven't try it. No 4pin on my psu, I will try with another psu when running multi gpus for 3D

4GB PSC XFG
both can't stable bus 2000 any CL
may i did something wrong
nice Dumo.... yur kicking butt with this board :)
yeah just got a new psu OCZ ZX 850w.... and it has 2x8pin cpu plugs so i was curious, but considering that im going from a Corsair 520w to a 850w Gold%.... i dont think it will be to much of a concern since im not doing liq or ln2.
bout to do another round of testing with new psu...see if i can get some better results plus i wanna test new bios 0705
this board cant wait for bulldozer
just picked one of these up today along with a 955, first time to ever play with AMD and so far I am liking this setup:up:
Hey Dumo...u selling your board??
You guys tried BIOS 0811 or 0099 for CVF? Any good for Deneb/Thuban?
@Mav.....Yes, have 2 boards (1 is for backup) because I thought BD will be retail available this month:(
0099, 0811 & 0813 are BD "optimized".
Welcome to the club l0ud:up:

Nice going Dumo...finally found a set of Flares...should be with me in a week or two..
Well...I have a bit of a dilemma.
After I enter OC settings I get a black screen...I have to reset cycle about ~5 times rapidly to get it to work...the second time always shows DRAM_LED on...
I'm on 0705, I wonder if this is fixed by 0055?
I just returned my board as I was having an error when entering the bios (invalid input range) followed by a freeze.
I tried clearing the cmos (by pressing the button as well as removing the battery), different keyboards and mice and a different cpu and memory and still the same thing.
Oh well, just have to find another one, regardless I really like the board and I will be buying another one.
I actually had to move back to my Hypers because I can not get my board to post on 1333/1600 dividers at all with PSC.
Mind you these sticks boot 2000+ 7-9-6 on M4A89TD...
1066 divider is okay, but only at 9-9-9 with them...however when I'm in windows I can load CPU-Tweaker, Turbo Evo...OC HT ref until they are around ~1300 and set them down to 9-6-5 ><
Something is wrong with either compatibility or the board has some major bugs.
I cant boot past 1800 with Hypers either, nomatter what subs...1600 6-6-6-18 1.575v boots fine just like my old board. I can post all the way to 1950, however instant BSOD upon windows boot. On the other board, I was posting past 2000 (I even booted past 2000 a few times).
Currently sitting at 4100 / 3000 / 1600 C6.
This issue is only with thuban, overclocking a dual core chip was quick and easy...
yes my psc / hynix bfr also hard stable 2000
Initial release bios 0404 seems more (2000+ memory) friendly with my Gskill C8. I'm not sure with Thuban though
Testing on air bios 0052
Boot up ok @ bus 298 and use Turbo V to 301...

Beep: I have no problem with PSC...easy over 2000 MHz 8-9-7 stable with GSkills 2x 2GB kits, but Im in use older BIOS new one will be for FX :)
hahaha, I'm at loop 11 at 7-10-7-27 1T...
What did I do to fix the problem?
First I looked at my manual to make sure I had the sticks in the best performing slots...
Then I looked to see if any PSC kits were compatibile in the 2000 CL7 and 2133 CL7 category..then saw my exact kit was listed in the 2133 category...
I loaded up my best drive strengths, that got me to about ~1900 suicide...then loaded the XMP profile with D.O.C.P...and I was able to set 2133 7-9-7 1.72v in windows with CPU-Tweaker.
Easy boot at 2133 7-10-7, 1.65v set. Loop 16 in 32M right now :shakes: with 2936 CPUNB. I don't understand what the problem is with compatibility, this has to be something beyond what you can change in the bios.
FYI to anyone that has this board - when (if) you get BD, update your UEFI before pulling your Phenom II.
EDIT - Also FYI, updating to the new AGESA code that's optimized for Bulldozer will affect overclocking Phenom II chips, most notably on the CPU-NB & HT fronts. So while you it is highly recommended you update the UEFI before installing your new BD chip, don't update to the newest until you're ready to make the jump.
2 of the most idiotic thing this motherboard lacks:
- higher NB multiplier (my old board use to have x20, now it's limited to x16)
- support for X4 970T (Zosma, not Deneb - I'm stuck at 1.2Vcore no matter what)
All in all it runs CPUs great, HTT clocking is quite good but still not on par with DDR2 boards:
This was done on my D.I.Y. 2-stage cascade:

Beep: hehe, nice one!
tiborr:hard to say, I think, FSB is not only about motherboard, but too about CPU, u must use the same of piece of CPU
Quick work on the Gskill flares I got this afternoon. Help required to push it further.

Full Image - CLick here
I suggest running the 0051 bios, seems like the last bios really very compatible with PSC + Thuban (I could be wrong, but 2150 7-10-7 says otherwise)
Overclock in D.O.C.P. mode...hard to get very far without. I was limited around 1900 without XMP profile loaded. (You just have to load it in D.O.C.P, change whatever you want HT ref and timing wise after that)
I'll suggest these drives in order like they are in the bios for PSC (probably not optimal, but close enough for now):
CKE: 1.00x
CS/ODT: 1.25x
ADDR/CMD: 1.00x
MEMCLK: 1.5x
Data: .75x
DQS: 1.00x
Thanks beep will try them later today. As of now, I am super pi 32 stable, but not stable in prime at all....what kind of voltages for CPU NB and memory? And cpu? Thanks again.
My NB is weak so 1.385v with LLC on High for CPUNB at 3000, that's not the lowest, just playing that safe for now. It doesn't seem to affect ram frequency any.
CPU from 1.44v to 1.6v depending on frequencies I'm running, 4000 Mhz on 6 cores to 4496 on 2 cores with one at that speed. I find it funny that I need this many volts, you shouldn't...my CPU is a bit of a dud in that regard.
Highest I could get stable in 32M was 2150 7-10-7 but this is with 2133 7-10-7 Pi. I'm gonna run Prime on 2000 6-10-6 tonight, the board is doing really well with CL6 (890 board didn't do CL6) but efficiency is a big issue as well as tRCD 9 and 90ns trfc for me which is really just my sticks.
I got 6-9-6 in 32M up to 2050 with this kit, albeit at 1.75v.
I also found 1600 CL6-6-6 to be faster in AIDA than 2000 7-9-7...but I will hang on to both kits for now till I get a BD in my hands..The latest bios seems to have a PSC chip setting in the memory part of the bios...tried that, but thats 7-12-7 I think.
Thanks a lot beep. The bios did it for me. Stll working on it though, but its prime stable as well:

Hey beep, I hate to sound like a total noob, but what's the difference between "Manual" and "D.O.C.P" mode?
My Sabertooth has that option too, and I've never used it.... Don't really have a clue what changes.
More OC options maybe? I set it tonight, and didn't notice anything different from manual mode....
Any help would be appreciated!
Thanks.. Dave
You can load the XMP profile of your sticks with it. It's a kind of auto OC feature.
However, you can change whatever you want after you've loaded your XMP profile (lower/up the HT ref, change the timings even though XMP is loaded)
Nice Dumo, now for the fun part.:D
hey beep, would u recommend these drive strengths for a G.skill Sniper 2x4gb 1866 9-10-9-28-1T kit?
haven't changed timings but im at right around 1900mhz and if i got any more its unstable and crashes in OCCT
i have memory set at 1.65v up from stock 1.5v...could be these r jsut budget sticks and already at the limit on my phenom 1090t IMC
also im running 0705 bios i dunno if i like it may try 0051 or go back to 0506
oh yeah..where can i get beta bioses for thuban?
edit: oop nm i found it LOL
I don't suggest that at all for the 8GB sniper kit. You will have to test yourself, unless those have Hynix BFR IC's (could be, but could also be Nanya like Corsairs kits), then Raja's CHV OC guide should be some help to you.
PSC, Hyper and Hynix BFR are all different animals...
Well, so is it true that the CH V is getting flack for the less than impressive benchmarks...and the power draw?...tell me thats not true......I already dropped a bit on the board and now that BD power consumption is soooo very awesome, I would like to atleast know that the board is fine.
Well, so is it true that the CH V is getting flack for the less than impressive benchmarks...and the power draw?...tell me thats not true......I already dropped a bit on the board and now that BD power consumption is soooo very awesome, I would like to atleast know that the board is fine.
See, I dropped $230 of my own cash on the board to get ready for BD.
Mind you I am a 16 year old with no job so no income. I do things here and there for person X and person Y and make a negligible amount of money every once in a blue moon.
Problems with my situation:
My parents agreed a month ago to cover BD, however my dad is dumb and didn't realize he needed new brakes for his car. He let them go 65k miles.
$500 spent later, I don't have money for BD. I won't have money for BD for a month or more, and to be honest with performance and power consumption looking the way they are I really don't give a :banana::banana::banana: right now if I have the cash for it or not.
However I already have the board and I doubt anyone will buy it. Most of the hardcore AMD guys that actually want a BD chip already have their boards. I'm not intending to sell my board for $120 just to get it out of my hands.
These BIOSes are turned toward BD, and not optimized at all for Thuban/Deneb. You actually lose 2-3% with this board compared to 890FX.
I bought the board for FX. Now I can't/don't want FX. I didn't realize FX would be such a failure in single threads.
As far as the board being fine other than being totally inefficient with Thuban/Deneb performance wise? Of course it's fine. I love my board other than the fact that my system is now slower than it was before and I am down $230.
The board is excellent, voltages are a little out of wack but that's about it. As far as it is to use with BD it hasn't given me any issues. I did write a little CHV/FX OC guide but I won't spoil the fun for you :D

Well, I guess your running it cold.....but thats by far the best I have seen till now.
So what do you guys prefer, PSC or Hypers?
A new beta bios for C5F was released today ;)
Added option to disable individual cores in a compute unit*
* You cannot "mix" compute units working in single core and dual core mode.
If you disable e.g core 8 and leave all of the other active, the system will hang during post.
Core 1, Core 3, Core 5, Core 7 active (= 4 compute units / 4 threads).
If you still want to decrease the amount of threads, you need to disable the compute units (by disabling CU 7, 5 and / or 3).
Added override option in "DRAM Driving Control" menu (for Addr/Command timing control): Enabled = Asus optimized values will be used, Disabled = AMD reference values will be used. While the optimized values generally work better at high MEMCLK frequencies, it is recommended to use the AMD reference values at official frequencies (up to DDR-1866) to maximise the memory compability.
Addr/Command timing control values are now selected from a drop down menu (instead of a direct input method).
The current settings are now also displayed in bios.
Northbridge multipliers up to 31x are now available (instead of the previous 16x).
Raising the BCLK unnecessarily high is no longer required to reach proper NCLK frequency.
CPU Level Up function has been added.

Awesome, can't wait till my BD chip gets here...
