This is a really cool idea. My 860 doesn't quite qualify, but hopefully BD will when it's released. If not I'll just get a 2600K. ^^
when I get things back to normal; I will send you updated info on my 3 systems.
wow.. that's a pure Intel team! I guess I'll change that with my AMD contribution. Sadly Intel is there two (i run on two hosts) but AMD is pulling its weight pretty nicely with OC :) Can't really push Intel as the setup is locked otherwise I'd love to see what it could do if pushed as hard as I have my AMD pushed. I'm sure there's more room in AMD OC as I'm running around 45-50C Full load depending on how quiet I've set the fan but stabilizing beyond 4G is taking its time :)
Also apologies for not including RAC in my form submission, I just couldn't find myself in hosts massive list, so I pulled the IDs from clients themselves, but my RAC for username is 5K+ so I figured I'll chuck my name in there too :) waiting for BD here too!
Edit: Ooo!! I just realised, it is for individual Host RAC only, isn't it? Dang then I have a long way to pull that through >.<
Great idea...Filled my form out for ya!
this thread just made my 1090t cry :(
:D
Just submitted my info for all 3 of my 2600k
Also, need username changed from totalgeekingdom to totalgeekdom.
Thanks!
Thanks for all the recent submissions  I've updated the RAC. Just a reminder that WCG hides users hosts by default & you will have to modify your profile on their site to make them available for inclusion :D
I'll be working on updating when the RAC of my host climbs :) I've also had a minor gripe with the stats system; they don't show host names on FreeDC or anything so it can be a bit challenging to try and match machine to host if you have a lot of the same type of processor :(
I call that a luxury problem :)
Can always check your Boinc to show the avarage stats for the host.
Might get you some clues.
RAC updated. Jcool holds top spot but Pavuk is close behind, Fallwind still holds top single cpu host & sandybridge hosts still some way off 6000
I was wondering why I wasn't doing better competing for that #1 single CPU host. Then I checked some stats, 980x at stock clocks with water cooling :( and a bunch of my host after minimal upkeep have reverted to stock settings over time
I do? Even though my 3rd Dual Hex is gone? Nice :D
I'll go and update my forms then.. neat idea :)
Edit: Done. If any1 wants to compare similar machines, keep in mind BOINC is limited to 21 (Dual X5680) and 23 (Dual X5650) threads respectively. This is due to general system responsiveness being better than at 100%, avoiding issues with certain software that just won't work properly with BOINC running at 100%, and also the fact that the Dual X5680 is my main PC, where I also game, edit photos and videos, encode movies etc etc.
I filled in the form for my main crucher, but after 2 days it still doesn't show up on that list. Did you get the info? Or do I need to resend it?
Sorry Rob, forgot to refresh the page:shakes: Added you & updated the RAC  Totalgeekdom is currently leading the SB race to 6000 points. At least 80% of users increased their RAC
No problem. Just wondered if I messed some thing up. I'm really good at doing that. :D
Just filled in the gaps on my single entry, hope I did it right... the main thing of note is that I run 7 threads in order to be able to do other stuff too.
Thanks OC, updated. I've left the thread count at 8 as the rest are listed as max possible rather than actual
I feel so close to 6000 RAC I can taste it! I've got to stop doing so much video processing, it's stealing my valuable CPU time.
It's remarkable that the fastest single hexcores are 980X cpu's. I guess there aren't that many 990X's in the team.
RAC updated, which gives a change of leader:eek: & the SB race to 6000 hots up
I'm planning to upgrade my OS to Win7 64bit and up my OC to 4700 or 4800 MHz this weekend...that should take care of that problem!
So, when we talk about RAC I think of recent average credit.... am I right..... How is it calculated??? is it the average over the last 30 days?
Thinks....if so top 2600K seems a possibility
It's not rocket science OC.
It's much more complicated
I thought you were being serious.... but it's OK, I remembered I can work it out on my computer :D
RAC updated. Kjeldoran passes 6000 points with a SB 2600k
Added hosts from Trn, Otis11, Hypernova, my87csx481 & Movieman
I've seen posts before that reference crunching certain projects over others to maximize points. I thought at one point I remember reading that HCC was the best and to crunch only HCC if looking for max points. I don't have a lot of experience and have never tested out the projects to see which workout better pointswise.
Currently I crunch-
Drug Search for Leishmaniasis
Computing for Clean Water
The Clean Energy Project - Phase 2
Help Cure Muscular Dystrophy - Phase 2
Help Fight Childhood Cancer
Help Conquer Cancer
Human Proteome Folding - Phase 2
FightAIDS@Home
My primary purpose for crunching is more to try and help out these causes so I probably will continue crunching them all, but I was curious if one of the more anyone could chime in with any info on what projects to crunch or not crunch in the search for max points, thought it might be of help for those who are looking for points and are not as familiar with the individual projects.
Oj101 did a thread on your question earlier this year. I haven't really seen any other info regarding what performs the best. In my experience, CCW provided the least amount of points when I was crunching it. HCC is consistent in terms of PPD. I'm only running CEP2 and DSL since I am trying to get badges. Prior to DSL, I was running HCC with CEP2. Once DSL gets 2 years, I am going back to HCC or HFCC.

Even better... Pirogue made a program that can give you stats for all your machines or projects.

Great stuff! Thanks guys!
RAC updated. my87csx481 & Old Chap join the SB 6000 club:clap:
I'll be working on updating when the RAC of my host climbs, only been at it for three days so need a few more.
The Free-DC stats on hosts doesn't seem to work.
Free-DC gives more host details but is not the most reliable so I have now added links to Boincstats  Have not tested them all, so please post if there is a bad one.
Heh, my Arima is 500 away from being eligible for this thread. Too bad I can't overclock it :p:
sparky, just give more juice. it might oc by itself if fed properly^^
Added one rig for now, the rest has not yet got high enough RAC
RAC = how many days/weeks?
RAC = ~42days
Updated list:up:
Updated one rig, still need a few more days before I can submit the rest.
RAC updated:up:
Updated one rig again and still need one or two days before the rest passes 5000 rac.
RAC updated
Added two rigs
RAC updated. Please note that the link to the data has changed & is now HERE
updated and added a few host. Added my top host, #2 single socket (long behind fallwind's best.) Added my stock Xeon E3-1230 which will never do better than 4,500 - 4750 RAC, but is a good comparison to see what a cheapo $200 SB E3 will do. Tried to update a few OC profiles, but that's a daunting task that needs to be tackled in small parts :)
I'm trn-XS btw, and alot of my host are intel-000's (thoes are Zero's.)
Thanks trn-XS:D duly corrected & details updated. Glad I did this in pencil :ROTF: Also updated with info from mydog & Pavuk
:D I like the chart BTW, good fun. Now I proudly have the 2nd highest RAC single CPU host :)
RAC updated. Infrnl regains No.1 spot & the first i7 920 blasts onto the list, no prizes for guessing who the user is:clap:
Hey good job:up:
Are you updating the RAC automaticly?
Oh! you got my Xeon W3670 wrong I think, never heard of a W4670 could be a typo from me.
er.... it looks like a *cough* W3670 to me :hrhr:
Done manually :yepp: Only reliable method it seems
Mydog is top dog:clap: A second i7 920 qualifies for inclusion (User seems familiar:hrhr:) & Moviemans SB looks like it could be steamrollered by Fallwinds i7 920
I moved to 8 threads on my K ... seems to help :)
I have a 920 that should be making the list very soon.
Solid at 4.2Ghz for a week, 7 day average is at 5224 with a RAC of 4901 and climbing
A lot of making the grade here comes down to STABLE STABLE STABLE and also project mix
Heck, if I can cut it, anyone can
I have got to get off my a$$ and intstall Win7 64-bit on my 2600k and crank it up to 4800-4900 MHz.
XP 32-bit is killing me right now :(
New rig added:)
I hear you there. I need to get off mine too and get better cooling on 2600K(currently only@3.8) also need to get my h2o on my sr-2's.....i have only been piecing it together for the past year or so :shakes::rofl:
@SAM: updated info. I do not know how I am at the top and not sure how my Intel000 is higher than my 5670's(maybe cause things got messed up and the 5670's restarted from scratch)
Intel000=E5645's,@3600mhz on air
X5670's@4ghz on air
Both systems running win7 Ult 64 bit
I also do not know what I am doing cause there are some impressive results on other cpu's and single cpu rigs. Are there optimizations to help improve these scores, rac, whetstone/drystone?
I do not know if we want to include if chips are retail/specials? projects running? I know different projects will show different results.
Hi All - I just submitted stats for my very sick 2600K, which should sneak into the list with RAC = 5199. WCG username Rickjb, stats @ http://stats.free-dc.org/stats.php?p...cg&name=267470 are:
ID Project Rank Today Lastupdate Yesterday 2 Days Ago Average Last 7days Last 28days RAC Total Credit
1328029 2,338 0 0 5,240 4,973 5,338 31,959 142,397 5,199 1,249,408
i7-2600K @ 4200MHz, 1.23Vcore (loaded), RAM: 1066MHz, 5-6-5-13 1N, 1.54V (max stable speed and max Vdimm without rapid further degradation on this machine). M/b: AsRock Z68 Pro3-M. Cooling: TRUE Venomous X with single Ultra-Kaze 2000rpm. HT ON of course. Using the IGP underclocked to 1100MHz, power draw crunching WCG is 141W, running 4 x Prime95 + 4 x IBT slurps 160W. PSU: CoolerMaster RealPower M620 80+.
O/S: XP-64, BOINC 6.2.19 64-bit.
Current project mix: FAAH, C4CW, HCC (sometimes micromanaged to run on 2 threads), CEP2 (often micromanaged to run on just 1 thread). HCC is there because it does all/mostly integer calcs, while the others do floating point. That should help HT to work better. C4CW is there because perfmonitor said it used minimal memory bandwidth when I ran it on my Athlon-64 4200, and this 2600K is very short on memory bandwidth.
Data updated, thanks for the info guys:up:
Updated.....trn-XS takes top single cpu spot from Fallwind :shock2:
I had noticed that, I've been watching (and gunning for that spot for many weeks ):D :D
Updated using Boincstats
I want my top spot back :shakes:
Time to put the SR-2 into "winter mode" :hrhr:
4.5 huh? What kinda voltage are you pushing for that? Running on chilled water, I don't have to worry about temperatures, but the voltage does scare me a little for 24/7. My primary CPU can do 4.5 @ 1,375V easy, but the secondary needs like 1,45V to do it. So I'm rarely running over 4.4...
Need 1,38V and 1,41V to run both at 4,5 on the X5670's and a tad less on the X5690's, using chilled water here too.
Attachment 121535
Well, looks like your CPUs are slightly better than mine - guess the age is showing :p:
Anyway, I've settled into winter mode now... 176x25 = 4.4Ghz with 10x dram and 18x uncore. 1,36/1,42 Vcore, 1,32V VTT, 1,66V Vdimm, 1,25V NB, rest auto :)
Attachment 121536
200-205 stable BCLK is doable on mine... never messed with any signals either. My primary CPU hates the 26x mult so Im running with turbo disabled, you should try 200x23 and see if that is even better :)
Updated. Fallwind regains top cpu spot from trn-XS:yepp:
SAM, I misinformed you about my E5645's; the OC freq is actually 3420mhz(not 3600)
I might be dropping under 5k....Not sute what happened. I was running nothing but C4CW to get my Emerald badge for it and it must have ran out or was intermiitent for a while cuz I starting getting all the others as well. Looks like HPFP and CEP kicked my ass and sent my RAC way down.
C4CW ran out for me as well. List updated. Mydog has got some serious competition for that top spot
Yeah, time to get serious. I've been trying to find the time to tweak my system and take my OC even higher. But, there is always something that comes up and keeps me from getting it done (wife and kid). Now that colder weather is on it's way, I'll really have to get serious. This also will help my computer room stay nice and warm! :)
I'm only running 4.5 GHz right now at 1.260v load with temps never getting above mid to upper 50's full load. Now it's time to take it into the low to mid 60's and hopefully 5 GHz :D
Finally got off my ascii and filled out the form for my 920 ... running under account mecole, I'm squeeking in the door at RAC 5097 :yepp:
Added & updated list
Updated. Several members have had a big drop in credit this time . Guess the bad weather in the US may be a factor. Not the best news for SC week:( Jcool revisits No.1 spot
Sorted out the drop in credit......Now look at that little ol' 2600k :yepp:
34k  Lets see if you can keep that up during this week.;)
Maybe by this time next year :)
This will only get another 36-40 for the rest of the week, but along with trying to push the total for the week I wanted to see how RAC was affected
SOOOOOOOOOOOOO, apparently a D-Tek Fuzion v2 will work just fine on a socket 1155 using the universal bracket's 775 mounting holes (they are only like 2mm difference).
That means, my new 2600k is now on water. LOOK OUT ANYONE WITH A SINGLE CPU, YOU'RE ON MY RADAR! lol
Updated. Hosts from nanoprobe & ma1kmcn1 added:up: Major gains for some, including Fallwind cracks the 10000 barrier with a 980x http://i602.photobucket.com/albums/t...b/1027f798.gif http://i602.photobucket.com/albums/t...b/2ea5300d.gif & Infrnl takes the top current & all time host spot http://i602.photobucket.com/albums/t...b/f1594de2.gif
Updated using Boincstats
Im on my way. e3 1235 throwing 4200 a day in addition to 1200 from q6600 and 1700 from 9550. if all things go as they should, eventually i may have more e3 machines, but thats a long ways off =\
Updated. Not heard anything from 'mydog' to explain what's happened to his hosts:confused:. Hope he's ok.http://i602.photobucket.com/albums/t...b/b8db1031.gif
Dave's mum dropped back at the start of SCW too.
phew ... I'm out of the red ... both BOINCStats and FreeDC show RAC of 5055
Updated using Boincstats
Updated Moviemans mum rig, along with others in the red, are in danger of being removed from the list if it looks like the credit loss is permanent. If anyone has taken a host off for maintenance with the intention to resume, then let me know & I'll keep it on the list. If you have upgraded a host so it has a new host id, then let me know the new host number. Thanks :D
No one's got one of them fancy new SB-E's yet?
Power use, performance and cost makes getting 2 ordinary SB's a better deal for crunching methinks
according to anandtech review, the 3960x is about 45 percent faster than the 2600k and consumes roughly 35% more power so that would make the 3960 abetter buy if youve got really high electric rates. in europe the difference between the 3930 (pretty much the same as the 3960) and 2600k is ca. 350euros leaving everything else the same. comparing 2 3930 and 3 2600k system (output should be proximal), the sixcores use 420 watts and the quadcores 460watts. 0.040kw*24*365= 350kwh. in europe the costs would favor the sixcores after 4 years. so if get a sweet deal on a 3930 i'd grab it.
Updated Thought a BD would have qualified by now :shakes:
Managed to sneak my 950 onto the bottom of the list, well maybe on the next update, ..... time will tell if it can stay there.
