At 2.2gig I can bench 3dmark at 245+, but once I get closer to 2.9gig FSB performance falls away untill at 3gig I can only do 216.. and thats not propperly stable.

That's probably the NF7's high vcore/high fsb bug kicking in; you'll probably find the same problem no matter what the overall cpu mhz is. AFAIK, the DFI is a lot better with high fsb/high vcore.Quote:

I can do prime with my cpu at 2860MHz at 2,08V, and I do not know exactly if there's room for more... That's at 260fsb and every mhz I add to fsb makes my cpu increase clocks 11MHz!!!
And I cannot change multiplier :rolleyes:

Nexttime the temp drops out i will try 10x268(2680mhz) maybe i need to have higher vcore for the cpu(but it´s a fast modd)
And the 9800Pro are not maxed yet and not vmodded(i cane run 472.5/491.5 without vmodd"maybe a bit higher")
And i´m using dx9.0 and WinMe and that drops the score a bit..
If i´m are lucky i cane run @ 270fsb(if i have right temp, the first test is hardest for the high fsb)
I hope i don´t kill this board...(i have f#cked my ide1 already it works but not so good :/)

What did you do to the IDE chanel? What CPU cooling are you using?
You have yet to not impress me. IMO your one of the top AXP benchers around. You have inspired me to stay AXP and reach my goal of 20k. I'll be ordering my infinity later today :D
the dfi has really relaxed timings though, right? would have expected more from such a high fsb
Turn it the other way around instead Saaya and ask yourself if there is any other Socket a board that can provide that much memory bandwidth? Who cares if it says 280 or 240 fsb.
bios 01/21 doesn't push performance in 3D. If you use 18/12 dfi is better than nf7. Limit on this board (seems to me) are voltage related.
For me I find 12/18 and 1/21 to perform the same in 3D stuff.
methinks ill try 12-18 myself.. single side ram and stuff. should be fun.. thats tonight!

But 3dmark acts weird. Sometimes I get a full run, sometimes not, and scores vary from 10 to 20% (single tests compared)...

my R9800se (softmod to pro) only clocks up to 435/415 or so...
haven't had the time to test it properly...
After all the issues I was having with APIC and WinXP I thought I would give Win2k a try . So far I can run 248x10.5 with APIC on . With WinXP I could not do that . I would get freezing when using the onboard sound and corruption on my sata raid drive when trying to use a PCI sound card .
Those issues have gone away with Win2k and this is the result :

Bandwidth doesnt necessarily coincide with better performance.
3DMark tells all.
sandra is bull§§§§, can be of help only by comparing same timings. Higher sandra scores with higher latencies don't mean automatically higher performance (in both synthetic and real world applications).

I don´t know that but Winxp have that(258fsb in winxp and 260 in winme)with 3.25vdimm. But i think win2k don´t have same problem like winxp. stil waiting for win2k...Quote:

But over 3.56vdimm the v jumping so much...i don´t know why..vdimm@3.68~jumping 0.15+ in idle

Can you tell me your bios settings (the important ones of course) and what you cool on your board? (PM also possible)
I doubt I can get mine stable with only 1,8Vdd or less... :( My twinmos maxed at the same speed as my new hyperx does now.. IMO the board limits me and the ocability of the ram is out of question. I am dropped back to desktop even at 255 with bios 21. I think I'll try out the 1-31 one again as it got me better 3dmark scores and maybe stability is better. Or back to 12-18??? But 3dm is by far slower... the score in my sig I can get with 255MHz and bios 1-31!
