I don't often get prime hardware like this to fiddle with, but a friend wants me to do some volt mods and such, and lent me his hardware, and gave me the green light for some "Xtreme" testing ;)
heres what I came up with today.

:D
nice! i wouldn't mind having 3158mhz in my rig :D
you going to give us any details? ;)
this next shot is just a PCMark2002 shot.
the whole system.
I also have a benchmark with the CPU only, thats at 9988, I just for the life of me could not break 10,000 with this CPU, but this damn sure isn't anything to complain about huh?
don't worry max, I like to be thorough before posting some screenies.
theres lots to see in the next few minutes :)
congrats kunaak so your mobo prob is solved :toast:
this is my best Super Pi shot.
this benchmark really drove me nuts, cause I can break 29 seconds at 2.9 ghz, but it took alot just to shave one more second off this bench.
but I had too, cause I had almost 3.1 ghz stable enough to atleast get one second off there :D
this particular benchmark is alot more resiliant then most.
it seems to pass at even the most unstable OC's, so it's pretty easy to keep pushing this benchmark when others fail.
I REALLY wanted to break 400 with this one, cause I was sooooo close. but alas, 395 is the best I can do with it.
on a side note, this benchmark doesn't seem to care one bit about FSB speed, just CPU speed.
anyone else notice that?
Is any of that 3d stable? Show some 2k1 benchies
This Benchmark is very very finicky.
I can't seem to get a 100% reliable OC for it, cause sometimes it passes, sometimes it doesn't.
probably has more to do with temp flucuating though I'd think.
I was soooo close to 40 seconds, that I just kept doing this benchmark over and over and over....
when I hit 41.09- it was war.
I had to break 40 seconds.
and I did
I was really really happy about that, cause this is one of my favorite benchmarks.
Like I said-I am trying to be Thorough, I know you guys want 3DMark, I would want to see it too.
so here it is.
just a unmodded R9800 Pro at 465-380.
link coming after I get through post these pics ;)
And some MIPS action.
for the life of me, I couldn't break 13k no matter how much I tried.
at 3.1 ghz it freezes no matter what.
the board has no Vcore mod yet, just Vdd and Vdimm.
you mean via? asus doesn't make a NF3 :stick: :DQuote:

nearly 13k mips! nice!
Give us a pic of ya system :P
this is my best bandwidth shot.
AMD64's scare me to death.
I have 2 $400 dollar key chains from running high Vdimm's so no more, not for me.
so this is only 3.2 volts.
I won't go any higher-especially with a $750 CPU that isn't even mine:eek:
and, this is nothing special, just the Temps.
-51c under 1.775 volts.
Next coming- Vcore mod, and try for more :D

and pifast ;)
i'm so in the 754 zone. i can't think straight! :D

yes, it's OCZ 3200-the 512 kit.
that PCmark2002 DDR score was done with a FX5200, cause I was scared at first that I might fry something and didn't wanna kill my good card.
so I used the cheap card to be safe.
yep, it's the Asus NF3 as well-the SK8N, I flashed the BIOS and fixed 9 out 10 problems this board has, but it's still alittle buggy.
for instance, when I reboot, the BIOS clock resets itself every time.
not really a big deal except it's really annoying cause Powerstrip pops up thinking my 30 day trial is up cause the clock is wrong by 2 years ;)
well, if I remember right Toms using a R404 Prometeia, dry ice should be alittle tougher then a R404 prometiea right?
I am not going for world records.
it's hard enough to get 28 seconds.
I can't imagine trying to get the records for the benchmarks in the minutes catagory.
my heart nearly drops out of my chest just messing with 1M ;)
He's got an R1150a cascade on his CPU. It looks like your friend has got a grand processor there :slobber:Quote:

Nice benches man! :toast:
Hot damn, impressive numbers my man.
Whoever's setup that is, you're a lucky person.
Nice job dude. :D
Yup great processor, looks to be about the same caliber as Tom's.
Now if you only had his cooling...
is it possible that -100C isn't helping that much beyond a certain point and these CPU's have the same limit?
cause mine here is solid, almost too easy to get to 3.1 ghz.
but just past 3.1 ghz it's a downhill trip that falls real fast.
Very nice Kunaak. I like your chip being able to bench at nice clocks and low volts maybe due to fact you run much colder than i did.
This unmodded Raddy is holding you back hard, if you could just move the core/mem slider a bit...:D
Keep pushing while you still can, don't waste your time posting:D
insane chip
well-the benchmarking machines been down for about 2 hours.
I came to post some results, and eat.
I also ran out of Acetone earlier so I went to get more from target too.
soon I am gonna get back to it, but I wanna eat too ;)
Cool stuff Kunaak.
Also, props for not rubbing scores and etc in everyones faces at all opportune moments. ;)
Looks nice :D
I'm more intrested in the dry ice setup as I wana give it a go soon :p:
yep, thats the 550 you did for me mick.
I still thank you for that-cause thats one mod that I just couldn't get a idea of how to do it, with the pots already in the control panel.
Nice Work!
That sounds like one hell of a fun afternoon Kunaak...... very nice clocks too.....
VERY nice clocks. Any pics on how you used that dry ice. How much did you go through for all that benching, lol.
Very NICE, K.......
GREAT high speed benchies!!!
C
heres some of the actual set up.
1 more
and finally...
Nice scores. What were the card clocks on that latest run?
Also I dont blame you for not running insane vdimm. Killing a $270 3200+ is very different than frying a $750 fx :)
Also what kind of temps are you getting with the DI?
the details of this score can be found here.
http://service.futuremark.com/compare?2k1=7478872
just when I was starting to get the hang of what this videocard can do, I ran out of dry ice :(
oh well-$17 dollars for 14 hours of fun.
not bad, and everything lived just fine :D
thats very nice:)
Nice going man!
Why is that last 3d mark run not @ 242x12,5 like your first?
That would have got you some more marks i guess...
Your friend is one lucky sod... :D

Don't no!Quote:

I alwais going max or nearly max core volt. Thats no problem with the -112 C Cascade. Thats meen 2.080-2.112 volt.
Lately with the 64 bit OS where the FX gets extra hot, I tried to lover the volt in the 3096 32M bench and the 3120 WR bench.
If I lower the FSB to aprox 225 and only use 32 bit windows OS
then it can go 3107 on 1.79 Volt
But why? I like best to do max cooling max corevolt, se what I get, and work on the memtimings at highest FSB.
Can't you do higher FSB Kunaak?
BtW here you are:
http://service.futuremark.com/compare?c=475872_2
PCMark2002: 10411 / 14725 thats 3201 Mhz Mem 246 2-5-3-2
:toast:
Gotta Lova AMD Cpu's :)
I ran out of dry ice before I could really start the benchmarking with the 5900.
I can get more this weekend, but it's unlikely.
the place closes at 10 am on saturdays, and I usually don't go to sleep till 5 am on fridays...
I just wonder why;)Quote:
