Love this case. Once work slows down hopefully I can get back into water cooling and pay attention to computer stuff again.

The thing that's great about this build is the neatness of the whole thing.
Everything is perfectly measured and fits like a glove.

Ran into a couple problems fitting the EK Spin Reservoir today. I do have to say, it is one pretty piece of POM Acetal. Super nice piece EK :up:

Going to have to trim a small section of the lip in the drive bay for the reservoir to fit in snug. Also going to trim on the case around the fill port for easier access.

I'm assuming you bought that top panel judging by the air mesh, where did you buy it from and how much was it?

I didn't purchase the panel like that. Actually, I drilled out all the holes with a cordless hand drill. Bolted a piece of stainless steel perforated mesh to the top panel and started drilling. I think it came out pretty neat, oem looking yes :yepp:

BTW, why won't you change that mesh to something less airflow resistive? I doubt in current one on rad having even 50% open area.

Its .060" thick Stainless Steel and the holes have a diameter of .125". Not your regular modders mesh by any means. A bit more difficult to work with. Pulled it out of the scrap bin at work :)

Its 1/2" high density nylon weave sleeving from PPCS.

OC Maximus, that is really sweet case and even more sweeter build.

I`m doing almost identical build... but it includes even more radiator POWERRRR... GTX360&240 with GTs@1850.
Roufly 1700W (~1850rpm and Delta 15) of cooling power in a compact sized case... :yepp:
And I have no idea what hardware I`m going to use... BD or SB, mATX sized motherboard of course.
But SSD is "must have" part. There is one tiny hickup... no summerjob and short on money. So build is kind of stuck for now... :(

Decided to do my own Feser One F1 UV Blue experiment.

Loop was originally running with Di-water and 4 drops of PT Nuke.

Flushed loop with tap water then flushed loop with 4 gallons of Di-water.

Drained all components then added a liter of Feser One Premix to the loop. No additional additives.

i7 2600k @ default clocks and water temp from 22c-27c, here are my results after 7 days:

Quite simply an amazing project, everything appears to be done in a brilliant fashion - the best part for me is either the sleeved tubes or the top pannel that looks like it really is OEM! I own this case myself and i was about to go looking for a top like that untill i saw that you made it... I feel heartbroken :rofl:

Ordered the wrong EK full cover waterblock. The EVGA GTX 460 EE card I have isn't reference so, me so stupe.

Epic fail on my part :shakes:

Good thing Performance PC's came through. Told them about the mixup and they agreed to give me a full in store credit once returned. Now I have an EK 580 full cover block on the way. Should be here today or tomorrow so I can finally finish building this machine.

You want a waterblock for the EVGA GTX 460 you have shown above right??

If so then you would just need the normal waterblock as the card is a Reference design, I have the same card and am using a normal EK Reference design waterblock, have a look at my Lian Li V600 worklog and you will see.

I have the same type of GPU it you have a look at my build log but just had a look at the part number and it ends in ( ER ) where yours ends in ( AR )

Either way, the 460 EK block would not mount at all due to cap arrangement on this pbc. Maybe I got picked up the wrong EK 460 block for this card, I donno. Sooo, I've bumped up to the 580 which can only be a good thing anyway :)

If you want a nice blue color in your system, why not go with Mayhem Dyes? I ran that 4 months before I did the first cleaning, and all I noticed was a bit of staining (nothing a quick wipe couldn't remove).

You will love the Gene. I have had mine up and running for about a week and it's great. Love the build. You have some nice skills that I wish I had.

I'm so loving the Gene-Z. Wow, what a great and stable board. Not even going to go into details but.... just WoW!

IHS for the GTX 580 will be here on Monday. A slight delay but the modding must go on... Almost time to slap on that waterblock.

I'll be on vacation next week. Rented a bungalow for the family and I here on the beach in Hawaii :) I'll get back to modding next weekend.

580 installed (thank you Splave for the IHS), still have a lot of wire management and sleeving to work on. I'm more of a function over form type of person so I'll do my best. I'll snap some pics this weekend of this never ending work in progress.

When you selected your rad for the top panel, did you have to buy one of a specific thickness so it didn't clash with the motherboard?

I'm trying to figure out if the HWLABS GTX radiator (56mm) will be to thick with fans on it, so to be safe I've chosen a koolance 30mm thick rad, for now.

Never really used DI only. Always used PT-Nuke with it. I've never had a problem with that combination.

Why'd you scrap the Gigabyte? Curious because that's what I'm using in my GF's build. I'm about to start my own build and was thinking i7 / UD7...but since I'm able to achieve such great results with the UD5 / i5...I see no reason to change it up. Nevermind the fact that Bulldozer may be worth a look...and of course...I could wait for Ivybridge. Sorry...tangent...but again...why the Gene-Z?

Why ask why? Its a great board. Smaller than a full ATX and perfect for my build. Plus, you gotta love them ROG boards with all the bells and whistles.

Flipped the HHDs around in the cage and pulled out the standard 120mm fan in order to route the wires around the front. Now they are all hidden and out of sight. Installed a slim 120mm fan on the outside as an exhaust fan to tidy things up. I'm lovin' it :yepp:

Thanks, and good choice! I have typically used ROG stuff...Crosshair III, Crosshair IV, and most recently a Crosshair V Am3+ in preparation for BD...but the UD5 was my first Gigabyte product. I'm not sure if it's my imagination or what, but the PCB seems thicker on the Giga. I've also found the board to be extremely stable...and the completely neutral, black color just does it for me. I really like it! BTW, the CrosshairV has a really mixed bag of reviews, but I flashed in the lates BIOS right off the bat and I've had zero issues overclocking the Phenom 970 to 4.1 stable on air.

BTW, I like this build of yours...nice and small and functional. Huge cases have thier place, but your options are so much more limited with those monsters. I don't know if people realize how challenging (and fun) stuffing a smaller case with WC can be...keep up the good work!
