Most are real and confirmed, with only a few being speculated. Most info has been found from Wikipedia and many other gaming and tech sites.

Yea the 2011 list looks rather impressive. DNF, Deus Ex 3, TES V and BF3 are all games that I'm constantly wanting to hear/see more about. MDK2 HD? Hmm first time I heard about it, loved the first two (especially the first).

I remember a trailer for Trackmania 2 that looked similar to NFS: Shift a few years back. I'm surprised there haven't been any new videos about it. And there isn't anything for Grid 2 yet. CM decided to do Dirt 3 1st then Grid 2 after it's been released. They won't even create a sub forum for Grid 2 yet.

Also Grim Dawn isn't on the list. As a fan of Titan Quest I'm looking forward to it.

Wow, nice list. I seriously am dying for Max Payne 3. True fan here...! I must have beaten both the first and second one about an fifty time each. I'm an addict. Every year when the first snow falls, I feel the rush to play through the two again :D

2012 GOTY? SKYRIM and THE OLD REPUBLIC are the two front-runners right now. BATTLEFIELD 3, ARKHAM CITY, BIOSHOCK INFINITE, MASS EFFECT 3, and even THE WITCHER 2 are the dark horses right now. GUILD WARS 2 and DIABLO 3 are probably delayed to 2012 but could surprise in 2011.

A number of other 2011 games are high quality, but in a year so packed with excellence, it will take more than a few excellent attributes to claim the overall prize. A GOTY contender this year will have to have it all: art, music, cinematography, writing, acting, gameplay. Quality.

..although I have spent the last 6 months of my gaming life trying to solve the last mission (hard difficulty) in Prototype, I just can't make it and New York keeps getting nuked over and over :(

Why don't you people buy consoles to play games? All those games were primarily designed for consoles and they would most possibly play better there at 1/3rd of the cost.

I thought that it is "Xtreme" Systems, here. The last extreme games were Crysis and Doom 3 half a decade ago, from then on there's nothing "Xtreme" or remotely interesting coming from the PC arena, no?

It's not an expansion, a new hole game.
Read the Sion Lenton interview at IGN, seems interesting. The only thing that disappoints me it's graphics (they always had some problem designing trees), textures looks crappy in some videos. Hope because they are taken from consoles.

Smashed both also, max payne 2 was crap compared to 1 though, story line was shocking.. Bit harder though..

Personally I think Dues Ex - Human Revolution has the potential to be one of the best ever games for 2011. That is IF it lives up to all the hype just going by what the trailers and footage show of it. A G.O.T.Y. contender perhaps. MAKE SURE TO WATCH THE FOLLOWING IN HD -

Notice how almost every single multiplatform FPS out there never got a single Multiplayer trailer or footage of any kind from its PC version.
The reason is simple. If a console player sees that they may get unrealistic expectations out of a gamepad's capabilities (At least the young and clueless kind), whereas if a PC player sees console footage he will be very aware of the fact that's not what he will play.

Console MP trailer generates this:
- PC players will say "Meh, crappy slow paced and autoaim-powered console footage", ignore it and wait for either a demo or user-made videos for the PC version, or simply buy it right away without waiting, and then enjoy the game, or not.
- Console players will say "OMG, best game evah!", then buy and enjoy the game.

PC MP trailer will generate this:
- PC players will say either "Nice!" or "Bleh" depending on their tastes, then go and buy the game and enjoy it, or not.
- Console players will say "OMG, best game evah!", then buy it and be utterly pissed at how the MP they are playing is nothing like in those trailers.

There is one game missing from that list, possibly the best game ever released on PC, Half Life. So wish this game was coming out, its been years now since the last one. Anyone know if its in production?

Yes.. it is World of Warcraft.

No doubt, SW Old Republic will be great competitor for WoW but doubt it will win battle with WoW, it is the benchmark it is compared to.

It may be the most important game of all time for its popularity and influence, but it's definitely not the greatest game of all time.

And i doubt SW:TOR will be the greatest game of all time either.

Actually I know someone who has been in beta for a long time, he has a friend at Lucas Arts that talked to BioWare to get into beta. My friend says he can most compare The Old Republic to Mass Effect than anything else.


So I dont think it will be even remotely close to what WoW is

I would suggest Prototype 2 since that was released in 2009. But that's not coming out until 2012 :shakes:. What the heck happened between then and now to make a sequel?

A new game in the works called Battle: Los Angeles is currently under development. Battle: Los Angeles was classified on February 18th and is being dollied up by Saber Interactive, who you might know from such games as TimeShift.

Don't really game anymore these days but where the hell is DOOM 4 at?

Been trying to find out more information about HL 3 or HL 2 episode 3 but Valve won't reveal anything. Don't get me wrong, a lot of interesting games are coming out but the half life series are just above the rest in my opinion!

Bulletstorm, only just started playing, but verrry cool. Fun factor to me of at least 10/10... for now. Guess the challenge will be the continuation and longevity of finding the fun in all ways of killing the enemies.

Well that is once you iron out a few small bugs with getting it running. Just using the PhysX files from your PC and chucking them into the game directory. Plus disabling the mouse smoothing, also adjusting the FOV to taste.

DX11 Source 2 perhaps...

Valve's DX11 engine better blow our minds. They don't need to rush cause of all the free money they're getting from Steam but they have had a lot of time to work on it so it should be impressive whenever it drops.

Bought Bulletstorm and it is really good but i am having problems with full blown graphics and max AA/AF. Also there are bugs with the controls, sometimes they stop responding in high action scenes.

This is going to be one VERY expensive year :(

Tell me about it, and 10 of them are due to come out next month (March).

When is Max Payne 3 due? Wasn't it supposed to be March?

Just finished Bulletstorm, very fun and addictive game, that doesn't wear thin towards the end like I thought it might. The ending sort of leaves it open to a possible sequel. One can only hope :-)

My friends and I feel like when we play ME it can be described as "you are playing an interactive movie with some combat bits thrown in," more of playing a role than anything else.

To be fair to Rage I haven't followed it that closely but so far it seems like an open world shooter with a quest system. I guess I should go read up on it more.

In terms of other stuff in a similar situation... Hunted: The Demon's Forge might be more suited to First/Third Person Shooter/Action, need to read up on it more, and Witcher 2 might be more suited to Role Playing / Adventure but it does have such a strong combat focus this time around I dunno....
