notice all the BH5 ram is out of stock indefinately.
maybe a sign of the times. i bet kingston and corsair run out pretty soon as well.
if you HAVE to have BH5 chips better make it fast.
you should be able to get black level 2 from resellers like Newegg until they run out of stock.

Just make sure they are rated at 2-2-2-x and you should be fine. Man I am glad I have BH5 or I would be going crazy trying to get money to get ahold of some right now.
Newegg still shows the Mushkin 3500 L2 in stock. I got a pair of 512mb's yesterday. These two are at least as good as my Corsair 512mb XMS3500C2's.
I just ordered another set of 2x256MB Mushkin LvlII Black from NewEgg. I had to pay $173.00 for the 512MB kit, but I think it is worth it.
Will be interesting to see how used BH5 keeps its value (or doesnt) when its all gone. I doubt it will go for above retail.. but we can always dream right? ;)

dang i just bought some pc3200 2x256 lv2 blk im glad i did too. i guess ill have to take it easy on this ram then cant put 3.2v through them for too long. i wonder if they keep a reserve for rma's i hope so.
I received my Mushkin L2 3200 the other day, but may order some HyperX 3200 BH5 for good measure.
traded my KHX PC3500 ch5 for a friends mushkin black lvl 2 pc3200 bh-5 as they dont need it, and i do.
I think I'll be ordering another pair of the 3500 Lvl 2. I hate to spend the money on ram right now, but better than not being able to find good ram later.
Damn looks like I missed out....unless somebody all of a sudden wants some ch5. I don't have any cash to buy anything right now. Contributing to the weekly jobless claims for the moment.
AFAIK, OCZ bought the rest of BH-5. Its in there LE packs now.

They will cost alot for a month or so,till BH-4 come out...Remember the difference between BH-6 and BH-5?BH-4 is supposed to kick the BH-5's head off...

me got six stick a year ago :) . even the valueram does 6-2-2-2.0 if it has bh-5
actually the valueram often runs better than the hyperx as it doesn't seem to mind lots of extra voltage. the hyperx often seems to have a small range of voltage that it will work at and this changes as the fsb changes.

I like Kingstons packaging, on value, you can see the chips.
a lotta people find better clocks on teh kingston hyperx with spreaders off, i'd guess thats the only diff between the value version and hyperx. RIght now teh value ram seems to be ch-5, all of it, but its cheap, good, and all 3 of my sticks, run cas 2,2,2,6 :o thats with 2.7v not in dual channelm but still a good sign.
Has tehre even been any mentino of bh-4? its all gonna be ddr2, its not like ch-5 is crap i'm sure kingston and winbond will be more than happy with it until ddr2, 939 boards and 775 boards that use ddr2 are out.

I have corsair pc3200 value ram, a 256mb stick. How do I find out what quality it is? ch5? bh6? bh5? other? I had it tested at 190fsb at 2-2-2-6 timings but my kt400 is holding me back though. anyone think 225MHz at 2.9v with 2-2-2-6 timings is reasonable? and Maxvla, congras on your a64. going the amd route now eh? you should get over 20k easy. one thing I dont understand, why is your ram at 335? I thought the 9800 pros came at 340 stock on the ram. pretty respectable core clock though but the low ram clocks can cost you a couple hundered marks as the core matters much more though. I havent the money for new ram anyway and if bh5 ram goes up in price, so be it ill just live with whatever fsb my ram can do, games will still fly anyhow and I hope theres really good ram 2 years from now when I get a 3.5GHz a64 overclocked to like 4.2GHz :)

I can confirm that winbond has cancelled any BH-4 production plans. I think the focus is on the less expensive to manufacture CH-5's and then DDR2.

if ddr2 ram sucks, Ill have to put off upgrading my cpu longer than 2 years since that ram would be slower than what I have already and its a downgrade for the part. cant be more than 3-4 years before really good ram that owns the best ram today comes out

It's not just BH-5 and BH-6, that can run 2-2-2 at PC2100 (266MHz) and PC2700 (333Mhz), some other chips can run those timings at those speeds!!! It's only PC3200 and PC3500 Mushkin Level2 that uses BH-5! And Mushkin's new SE-version uses BH-6.
if mushkin was putting BH-5 or even BH-6 on their lvl2 PC2700 and PC2100 then they would certainly be advertising it and also being selling it at a premium.
They wouldn't keep it as a secret and give vague hints.
mushkin saw the goldmine that is BH-5 and completely took advantage of it, and have made lots of cash over it. They wouldn't hesitate at the chance to do the same again.
there are modules other than BH-5 and BH-6 that can do 2-2-2 at ddr333 and ddr266 speeds

yeah i just purchased 2 x 256MB, and 1 x 512MB dimm which are BH-5. the single 512Mb stick does 260 fsb 2-2-2-5 at 3.2v. the set does 250 2-2-2-5 at 3.3v.
pretty nice sticks i must say. unfortunatly, i am forced to get rid of the 512MB stick...of course the better performer. :(

Bah, I can't find Mushkin lvl. 2 anywhere! I don't want to pay $350 for 2x512MB Mushkin Special 2-2-2- either. What should I do? Does OCZ still carry any BH-5 or BH-6? OCZ EL Platinum PC3200 is rated 2-3-2-5 so that couldn't be CH-5 right? This OCZ EL PC3200 is CH-5 because it is rated for 2-3-2-6 right?
Why don't you go to zipzoomfly and get the KHX3200/K2 BH-5's from there. They have a dual kit totaling 512 ram for $190USD. Just make sure they are the NON A version of ram so look closely before buying.

At least these are BH-5 and not BH-6's unless Kingston did a switch lately like they did with their 3000 series. Just for reference I paid 152USD for 1-512 Mushkin LV2 3500DDR BH-5 back in November last year and that was the highest price at NewEgg before they ran out. So paying 25USD more for the last remaining BH-5's isn't that bad of a increase. In about a month this ram will probably go for 200USD a piece.
The question is, as with ALL thngs... is this REALY what it is alledged to be, or not.
ie: 100% certain to be BH5 or not. If so Ill go order some, but I really have no interest in a run around from Zip or anyone else over "we dont garantee particular chips, etc"

you can contact zipzoomfly for more info. You must read their rules for return. But one things for sure is that they also sell the 3200A series and it is another item number . Note the difference in settings and also in price. 190 vs 168.

The only one that specifically stated that their chips are BH-5's were the original Mushkin Level 2's not the 2-2-2 specials.

That shows in their respective SPD, 2-2-2-6 and 2-3-2-6. When I get my KHX PC3000 I'll let you guys know what I get!

Hopefully it is not the CH-5 version of KHX3000 non A's. if you could run it at 2-2-2-6 at 210fsb or better then you have some good ram. How much did you buy? 512 or 1gig setup? Might be but doubt it. It is only the HYPERX's is the real BH-5's
AKA KHX3000 or KHX3200 NON A"S ONLY.--- BH-5's with 2-2-2-6 default but in AMD systems it is better to have 2-2-2-11.
Probably a misprint...I doubt they have only Corsair XMS PC3200LLPT rev1.1, which have the 2-2-2-6 SPD timings since they're guaranteed BH-5. If you get some rev1.2, that CH-5 is supposed to be 2-3-2-6 SPD.Quote:

I sold some Mushkin on ebay for 400 + shipped for a 1GB, I can't belive it's going for that much. I wonder what I'll get for a new set in the Mushkin bags for 1GB if I put it on this week?

why is it a sticky still..maybe the BH-5's is a legendary ram that all ram nowdays is being compared to. Basically it is a measureing stick for the new ram to be compared with. Granted it is most likely you won't find BH-5's anymore since everyone who has them won't part with it unless they are dissatified or ignorant about the quality of the ram itself.
bh-5 isnt very good nomore. not when the new TCCD can post almost the same results but also hit like over 300fsb when you loosen the timmings. and bh-5 is all used crap that people have abused. i was glad to get rid of mine just because of warranty issues and that tccd imo is better.Quote:

:D Hey guys cool down - here is the answer: I'd RMA both - CORSAIR and MUSHKIN because I had a couple of kits and sometimes a bad module.
CORSAIR RMA's with TCCD (XL) - think they do not have any single BH-5 anymore but MUSHKIN did it with new BH-5, have to say that this was half a year ago but in my opinion they have been more clever and kept some BH-5 in stock for RMA.
