Just got my new MSI P67A-GD65 and am well impressed with it! Currently clocking at 4.2 with 1.175vcore amazing!Have noticed there isnt a thread on this board and i would like to add some links to bios updates to help other users!

Yh all sold! And £250 profit after buying the sandybridge setup! Looks like have got a good batch had 5Ghz last night at 1.375Vcore on 1.6 Bios! Just testing the 1.8B6!

What is ur load voltage?
When I set in bios 1.4V ,load is 1.456V , too much I think.

My load voltage is 1.4v! Just testing 1.35v 5Ghz now doesnt seem to be a problem i guess i have lucky batch for once! Am amazed how good this things are! 1.8b6 is a big improvement for ocing! Batch code L040B307! Bullu$ tryed the newer bios at helps in voltage and temps!

My GD65 is over-volting by almost .5V under load as well. at Idle it is pretty close to the specified voltage though. I've tried both High and Low vdroop

Edit: What cooling are bro20000 and bullus using ?

I took up the 20% V.A.T back offer on this board that what made me buy it! My 1st MSI board ever and am impressed! I had the same problems .5V higher till i updated my bios to the 1.8b6 now its like .15v which is abit better!

I will try the 1.8b6 when i get home.

Some benching with my 2600K L042B074 under Noctua NH D14 and MSI P67A-GD65 1.8b6 bios.
Really good board and with 1.8b6 it seems that they're trying to correct the vdroop.

The downside is that the bootloading is very long, sometimes it is ok.

soooooo, anyone else getting the issue where if you try to exit bios it just freezes? 1.4 bios gave me 32ghz and all the speeds where read wrong and no pll overvoltage option so flashed to 1.7 and now you cant exit bios without it freezing. Tryed 1.8b6 same thing. Tried DOS flash, m-flash, flashed back to 1.4 and settings dont stick. what a cluster F.

I've read about some folks having that issue on the MSI forum, but me personally 1.4 was fine, 1.7 even better. My monitor is connected through a mini display port, which makes me seem to miss a bunch of startup/BIOS related screens. I have like a 1 second window to actually get in the bios from that Military Class screen.

Anyway I digress, have you tried clearing the CMOS?

I'm currently at 4.6ghz @ 1.325v. Itching to get home and play with it more. I didn't have any BSOD's from running benchmarks 4.6 @ 1.3v but it did BSOD on me when I tried copying files to the machine from a network share.

That happen to me when i 1st had the board! I put Bios 1.8 on and then i cleared CMOS and havent looked bk! Works perfect now!

Has anyone updated the Intel Management Engine (ME) firmware by using the MSI HQ USB flash tool? You can't update it through the BIOS using the MFlash utility, it has to be from a bootable USB thumbdrive. They added the files to the 1.7 release firmware as well as the newer 1.8B6 firmwares. I haven't updated it, but I haven't had any obvious issues that other folks reported. Just wondering if there's a change log out there that states what this update does.

I did had any frezze issues. My problem is that with my 1.86b bios i dont have HIGH vdrop controll option. I just have Low control and auto options. Thats weird...

Anyone is running AHCI mode on this boars? I want to intall AHCI without installing Windows 7. But to do that i need a driver name of AHCI controller on this board. Anyone can give me that name?

flashed the mei update worked well.
seems the mei is for the control center oc tool.
flashed the 1.86b and has been working fine.

If the LED blinks every 1 second, it is everything okay? I read the motherboard manual that is led from the BIOS, I saw that in some cases where the LED light does not blink, she was always constant blue light

The light should be off! Should on come on when it goes to the 2nd bios!

Very nice bro, what are ur settings/voltages.

Very often I got no movement with my usb keyboard/mouse when i'm in windows. I have to unplugged the usb and plug it again in. Very annoing.

Hmm, really looks like MSI has got some really nice OC boards this round. In average I think MSI provides the best clock/voltage ratio. Gigabyte coming 2nd with LLC1 setting. I'm aware MSI boards seems to overvolt quite a lot with LLC/during load but I doubt the real voltage is above the CPU-Z reported value at least. Any1 tried measuring the real voltage yet with a multimeter, I mean this board got such convenient way to do it too.

Cpu-z show the same value ,same as with multimeter.
With bios 1.8b6 the load voltages isn't so big anymore.

What settings need to turn on or off when overclocking CPU in the "CPU Features"? help if C1E or Intel C-state mode and leave EIST and turbo boost

Thanks mate made my day got new memory coming today will test with this bios!

The new 1.8b7 BIOS has made my cpu temps alot lower 16c on load! And vcore has improved! Plus am getting better Superpi times at same setting!

the new bios 1.8b7 is more difficult to stabilize the 5GHz on my 2500K Voltage 1.485V set in BIOS, provided a lift of 100% is charged 1.51V, vdroop control does not work

over 25 minutes Prime95 x64 stable for now

1.64 i left it on auto in bios on control center it show 1.6467v!

U can disable SPREAD SPECTRUM, so cpu-z show 100Mhz x51 instead of 98.8Mhz.

Have set it to 98 bus speed 100 wouldnt get to windows boot screen needs tweaking at 99 at minute! Am running IO Voltage on auto shows 1.3v!

hmm got a problem, can't save the bios settings. If I save and reset(F10) it just freeze. using the last bios 1.8b7.
Already flash it with another bios but same problem exist :(

When you see the Military Class logo you should be smashing the DEL key

Its happened to me before MB disable keyboard if bad oc!

Try doing following steps

Turn psu off
Switch Clear Cmos jumper 2-3 and then bk to 1-2
Turn psu bk on should solve your problem!

I did several clear cmos and use different biosses, only bios v1.4 I can save again.

Running 1.8b6 any change in overclocking settings in bios as soon as I hit F10 bios locks up. Thats any change like increase multi by 1.:mad:

Max out 2200Mhz 6-10-10-27 1T Running with 3.4Ghz stock clock! Msi board doesnt like running 2133Mhz ratio at 100+ Bclock at 5Ghz very weird hope there a bios fix soon!

Got my CPU and RAM today, so I'll be able to build up my GD65 based build. Have grabbed the 1.8b7 BIOS from the HWBOT thread. Is this definitely the latest? What tool is everyone using to upgrade their BIOS?

i use usb pen and flash in bios! I wouldnt recommend 1.8b7! 1.8b6 is alot better!

I am running the 1.8b6 and bios locks up upon exit. No matter what setting I change it does it every time.

Current bioses (regular and UEFI) for Intel platforms have a bios part and an Intel ME part.

Usually the ME part doesn't need updating, so AFUD*.EXE or M-Flash only updates the bios part.
Recently we received an updated ME file form Intel that can solve the "F10/Save & Exit" issue.

Bios v1.00 to v1.60 have ME version 1141
Bios v1.70 to ......:banana: have ME version 1164

Attached bios is only for P67A-GD65 and P67A-GD55.

To update both parts you need to flash the bios part and ME part in DOS (preferably use a DOS bootable USB stick).
Attached bios package has two parts.
Part1 (bios flash tool, bios file)
AFUDE234 E7681IMS.186
Part2 (ME flash tool, parameters, ME file)
MEUP -ALLOWSV -F ME1164.BIN

An easier method is to execute the 7681v186.bat file in DOS.

The flashing of the ME part will show as dots and can take a while, please have patience till it finishes.

Can you let us know if this can solve the issue?

U wrote on that forum that u have double restart issue. Try to set BCLK to 98 and save & exit. For me works fine.

Bios 1.8B10 worse on the lot always dual boot driving me crazy! Have gone back to 1.8B6!

Bios 1.8B10 was made only for fixing the "F10 save freeze" issue.

I couldnt even get into windows with 1.8B10 a blue screen would come up when windows started to boot i couldnt tell what it said it just flashed on and off! So i decided to go bk to 1.8B6!

Managed to get everything set up last night. Flashed to 1.8b7 before installing the OS and don't seem to have encountered any BIOS bugs. Haven't overclocked yet, but did press the OC Genie button that set the CPU to 4.2Ghz, albeit at 1.325V.

I need to get the fan control sorted. Is there an easy way to link the system 1 fan to the CPU temp? Ideally I'd like it to run at 50% until CPU temp hits 40 degrees, at which time it would go to 100%.

With everything at stock I'm getting load temps in Prime95 across the 4 cores between 47-49 degrees. This is with an original TRUE using the 1156 bolt through kit. The TRUE has been lapped, which may actually be to the detriment of performance! I'm sure getting the fan control sorted would help too, as currently I've only 1 exhaust fan, which is a 120mm fan running at ~750rpm. Getting this to ~1400rpm under load would help I'm sure.

Finally, what's the latest MSI Control Center version?

Ok this EFI BIOS implemented by MSI is such an epic failure. Sometimes you have to double or even triple click to get the value right. The CPU Ration adjustment from Windows doesn't seem to work and there are same settings on different tabs but not interfere to each other. Thank God, I've installed the new V1.8B10 last night, CMOS Cleared and seems good enough so far. . .

There is bug with 100 MHz BCLK. The motherboard auto adjust the CPU_VTT (also known as VTT_IO) to 1.35 V -- which is insane!

I lowered the value from 100 MHz to 99 MHz and is seems pretty solid and rock stable now. -- CPU VTT: 1.052 (idle) and 1.049 (stress)

So far I am on 4.55GHz , 5 Hours stable with prime
The weird part is the VDrop. While you are in IDLE mode the VCore falls down by 0.020 V but when you stress the CPU the VCore goes up by 0.004. For example I am applying 1.336 [BIOS] and currently I see from my multimeter 1.341 V (on IDLE).

How do I install MEI? When I open the MSI overclocking program it says it is not installed ans will not let me adjust cpu settings on desktop?

Yes I did.:rolleyes: Thank you, installed it and CCII and now can adjust cpu settings. Now they just need to fix it so I can adjust base clock mhz.:mad:

You need to speak dirty to this motherboard. It's the only way for stability and testing on the benchtable. lolz
I have problems with VCore, there is no option for High Vdroop. Just Low and Auto. How about you guys ?
