I will be there sunday morning when the doors open :D
I think Ill take a drive sunday morning also.
I will buy one :)
Thx for this info!!!
anyone work at a microcenter?
I need 50 2600k's..
I also wanna go to rockville, md. I am from germany but I'm on vacation in md right now :-)
I am getting a i5 2500K, but that deal may tempt me to get the i7 2600K. That said, do you have any information on whether that deal is ONLY on Sunday, 1/9/11:shrug:? Or is that something ongoing? I probably cannot go there on Sunday .
I will probably call them tomorrow to find out the details if none of you know...but just in case one of you have inside info lol....
I'm going to the one in CA near Santa Clara
i swear u bloody americans get hardware so cheap! i think after my degree im moving to the states with movieman :D:D
They better have the stuff at the MC in Tustin or else I will be sad.
is everyone for real about this. i am close to 2 micro center near nyc, i can hit jersey also.
i can maybe take like 6 people with me maybe more and we can maybe get a total of +10 cpus if we hit 2 stores...
movieman got a partybus?
I am going to the one near me this weekend also. I think I will bring my Taser just to reduce line time. That is a better price then I expected.
Hmm, at this pricepoint I might even consider upgrading since with the cash I might snag for this I already have I could get a mobo, and I was going to make an i7 upgrade anyway. Why wouldn't that be an 2600k i7 then :D
I called the Micro Center near me in PA. As of 1/5/2011 he only had (2) 2600 in his inventory (which they can't sell until Sunday). I am going to call Saturday afternoon to see if they got another shipment in. If they did then I will be there first thing Sunday morning. He said they have a good amount of motherboards.
Nice price! Nearest store for me is in Houston...

Don't Know if I can make it in time
Alright guys. See you tomorrow morning at rockville :)
You must have your UserName name tag clearly visible with BIG and BOLD font hanging on your neck so each of the XS.Org member can introduce themselves and have a blast. :yepp:
Having said that, I may be the only one in the Twin Cities, but I'm not upgrading. Gonna stick around with my current X58 until X68 comes out. Not much improvement over the X58 other than plain hype about a different technology.
Well, I've had it planned to make the 310-mile round trip to MC in Atlanta but unfortunately somethings come up and won't be able to make it out there tomorrow. Any idea on how long MC will keep these prices?
My guess is this will be the regular price at MicroCenter, they always have the best prices on CPU's. (in store pickup only)
I just ordered from NewEgg for 329.00, MicroCenter didnt have a P67 board I wanted so I would have to wait for the board anyway. Cost me an extra 50.00 but the 180mile round trip drive would have cost 30-40.00 in gas, and taken 4-6 hrs to drive depending on the crazy Northern VA/DC traffic.
Yeah I think I'll probably just order from the Egg and save me the trip. After gas and taxes it really doesn't make sense to go to MC :p: BTW - I'm kind of surprised the P67A-UD4 is $198 shipped, I was expecting around $169 :(
I want a 2500k and a UD7 p67 please, can I use my ripjaws? they do 2300 :P
clock for clock would I see any difference in a daily gamer?
The Cpus and motherboards are online on Micro Centers website. Check the store near you and see if the option to reserve for in store pick up is available. I just did it so i will see how it goes. Each store doesn't seem to have a lot of the 2600ks.
Heads up for those going to Rockville. Got an email saying they are in stock and ready to order. Checked the website and it only showed 4 2600K in stock so I did the online order for in store pickup. Now it shows 3 in stock.
That is what I just did also. My store shows six 2600K in stock and now there is 5 after my order. Thank God they allow pre order as six chips is not going to last 5 minutes once those doors open in my area. They have 20 each of the 2400/2500K which will sell out with in hours at this store.:D
Ordered mines at like 4 to 4:30a.m. Now there are no 2600ks left. Hopefully their tracking system is good and no employees decided to grab some for themselves.
My store sold out on 2600Ks in the time I typed that last message. Now there 2500Ks are starting to go also.
So... I also reserved one, but i didn't got an email yet!!!
Think that could be a huge mess at the store today
Damn, Im getting off work at 6pm today! Gonna have to wait for the next shipment Im afraid. :(:shakes::shrug:
I just got my email confirming my 2600K is ready for pickup, I should have some numbers by this afternoon.
Lucky americans,in our contry price is 415$.Oh boy :(
I went to my local Micro Center this morning when they first opened up and they only had two remaining 2600k on the Sandy Bridge table. Both had the same batch# L039B467... here is to hoping that this turns out to be a decent batch! (When I woke up this morning the online inventory for my two Atlanta Micro Centers was showing ~ 6 units of 2600k at each store while the 2500k was showing ~ 20 units.) Apparently they don't allow reserving online for newly released cpu on release day as my online orders were cancelled.
That is interesting to hear because I just got back from my Micro center in Jersey with my 2600K and they did reserve for me from early this morning. I got a L040B208 batch chip and very happy to have it after the insane fight that happened at the store. I tried to take a few pics with my phone of the store manager fighting with at least 20 different people, it was simply retarded.
Just got back from MC. They had my order waiting for me. Batch for the 2600k i got it #L039B214
I reserved one at the Westmont location at 7am when it said they had 6 in stock.
After I placed my order it said 5 in stock.
But then at 10:03 am I received an E-mail saying they needed to Cancel my order due to No Stock Available.
Got to the Rockville store 15 minutes before they opened. Was at least 20 people already waiting. We all ran to the back and the guy next to me asked for a 2600K and they told everybody they were all reserved for online in store pickup so they didnt have any to sell. I spoke up and said "Oh so I can go up front and get mine then" and everybody gave me a dirty look. LMFAO!
Batch #L039B214

GRATS!
Sounds like me when I drop off prepaid packages to the post office... everyone's waiting in line taking 15-20+ minutes while I walk in and out in under a minute by simply going up to the counter and saying "This is pre-paid, can I leave it here?" then doing so :D.
Just came home frome rockville. good that i reserved one. I could just pick it up easily :)
Other people weren't that happy. Because without a reservation it was hard to get one!
My batch: L041B410
http://www.abload.de/thumb/1n6kn.jpg http://www.abload.de/thumb/235h2.jpg
There is one left at my local MC but it's now INSTORE ONLY, so no one reserve it at the moment.
Congrats to everyone who managed to get one, my store had a massive fight which was really funny to watch. Just reformatted drive and now loading op then drivers as we speak.:D
Just got back from Microcenter. Bought the Asus P8P67 Deluxe and a 2500k (I game so I don't use hyperthreading anyway), the batch is L040B354. From a few threads on other forums I have gathered that L040B is a better batch than L041B.
Ouch, no overclocking for you :/ Good that you got a processor though. I drove 40 minutes to MC, got there right as it opened and there were already 30 people ahead of me. MC staff didnt say anything till I was right at the front and then mentioned "oh we dont have the 2500k or 2600k in stock". They had only got five 2600k's and ten 2500k's in stock...
I just got home from the Microcenter in Richardson, Texas. I have the same batch as you (L039B214). I did not pick up a motherboard yet. Do you know what "revision" your batch is.. Basically, I'm just curious if all of the 2600K's share the same D1 revision?
My Civ 5 + i7 2600K + P8P67 Pro combo is shipped/has tracking from TigerDirect ($499+13 ship 2-day air), should be here wednesday at the latest, possibly tuesday if their shipment center it's coming from is close to me :D. Have the RAM and everything else ready and waiting!
Retails should all be D2 stepping..
Damn i also realized that they gave me the 2600 and not the 2600k. So i went back and of course they where out of the 2600k. So i just bought the 2500k and gote the money back for the 2600. I was really unhappy
Man, I feel for ya, Buddy. I had a user paying me to go and get him a Bundle of 2500K with Asus Pro version, but the Pro was OOS! Ouch!!! Web orders got them all. I felt so bad that I wasn't able to get what he wants. :shakes:
However, he decided to just get a CPU now and the motherboard later. So, I got him an L040B batch. Had he posted this thread earlier on Saturday, we would have accomplished what we needed to.
5am this morning on microcenter site I pre-ordered my motherboard, but at the time i couldn't pre-order any SB cpus...
Good thing, in a sense, 2600k were sold out, or i wouldn't of listened to logic of saying save $100 go with 2500k :D
Of course I saw dozen or so 2600k at the pickup area
Anybody got a quick-early-list of good 2006k batch# ?
So far, I got this list:
L040B225 , benchstable at 5.2 - 5.3GHz (depends on bench) @ air
but would like to have more on the list.
What a good deal.
How can you go wrong for $339.
I7-2600K D2 : batch: L039B214
So far, bench stable at:
Multi: 46x
BCLK: 99.8 Mhz
Vcore BIOS: 1.40
Vcore Idle: 1.380
Vcore Load: 1.308
Max core (#1) @ 65c on air.
try flashing to this bios http://www.fileden.com/files/2009/12...p67aud4.6x.zip
and look at this video for OC setup. If you use LLC1 you should be getting the same volts in windows.
Also enable PLL override in CPU settings
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8ngyUrjuQ80
I am having a strange issue maybe somebody could help me out. I have the UD5 and 2600K and am sitting here linx stable at 4.5 on 1.25 volts. As soon as I choose anything over X45 multi it just keeps rebooting at the screen to hit delete to enter bios. I am on the latest beta bios you linked.
do you have a retail CPU or D1 ES?
Try F5x and enable PLL Voltage Override
http://www.fileden.com/files/2009/12...p67aud5.5x.zip
also use Loadline Calibration Level1!
Nice!
Seems to be that u got a good batch...
@ air?
damn, im sweating it out here....hmmm why did the wife switch the air con off again
Quick run at 4.7Ghz with my 2500k L040B354 on Asus P8P67 Deluxe. This is with watercooling with 26C room temp.
**EDIT** GAH! Gotta turn speedstep off. This was run at 47x100 at 1.4V.
so ok let me see if i follow this correctly.
$279.99+tax = +/- $297USD depending on state.
lets say some of us wasted $20 on gas.
but seeing how hilarious you guys are on the forum and what not,
that may be worth the trip itself, i was going to drive to yonkers this morning
but i dont think i'd have bumped into anyone from here.
it was amazing when i used to check this morning around 9/10am still and the 2600K went like hotcakes in front of my eyes:shocked:
then there was like 8 2500K in yonkers and they were gone by 11am.
i guess i didnt drive cause the mobo i'd like was not available at that
microcenter, i was seriously thinking of picking up a set just to resell after
i tested it:up:
10 mins of over clocking and 80 mins of stability tests on my i5 2500k I got 4.5ghz at 1.275v :)
http://i380.photobucket.com/albums/o...ff/45ghzsb.jpg
currently idling at 92 watts  and 167 watts running cinebench :smileysex: (my i7 920 system idled at 182 watts and my amd 1055t did 152 watts idle)
All that with stock cooler and NO CASE FANS IN MY CASE!!!
You need to get the latest CPU-Z, supposedly the older version isn't reading the vcore correctly on SB.
yeah that looks alright, my chip seems to like the same sort of vcore with those clocks
nice one
Hi Guys
I'm not from the US anyone living near a Microcenter wanna get a i7-2600k with a batch (L040B) for me?
Willing to pay a little more:)
PM me in you are interested:)
Cheers SB!
